Amber Heard will be in the upcoming movie ‘Aquaman 2’.
During this year’s CinemaCon, Warner Bros. dedicated two hours of their presentation to DC material. The studio premiered the first trailer for Aquaman 2 within its allotted time, surprising fans with an unexpected cameo.
Filmmaker James Wan and star Jason Momoa were not physically present, but they greeted fans in Las Vegas through a video appearance. Amber Heard’s return as Mera in the sequel of Aquaman has been confirmed through her cameo in a battle scene shown in the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer. Fans were excited by the footage because it shows her fighting alongside Momoa.
She made a cameo years after her well-known defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Heard’s testimony during the case caused controversy as she stated that the media coverage of the legal proceedings had almost cost her the role of Aquaman. According to a video deposition from the former president of Warner Bros. Pictures, it was mentioned that Heard was considered for recasting due to insufficient onscreen chemistry. A petition to remove Heard from the sequel gained almost 4.5 million signatures during the trial. Heard will be in the film, despite attempts to remove her. It is unclear how significant her role will be in the storyline, as the trailer has yet to be made public.
The next part of the movie will be released in cinemas on December 20th.
