Watch the new trailer to ‘The Immigrant’

The Immigrant features Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner in the period drama. The movie centers on Ew Cybulski played by Cotillard and her sister Magda portrayed by Angelea Sarafyan, who move to New York from their native country Poland to start a new life.

The two women are then separated when physicians discover that Magda is seriously ill and must be quarantined. Ewa then makes friends with a Bruno (Phoenix) a wicked man who forces her into prostitution. Her only way out is through Orlando (Renner) a magician.

The Immigrant will hit theaters on May 16.
