Actor Robin Williams was Found Dead in His Home. Cause of death is considered a suicide

Critically acclaimed actor and comedian Robin Williams has died of an apparent suicide at 63. According to reports, the cause of death is thought to be by asphyxiation.The cause of death is thought to be suicide by asphyxiation.

Robin Williams was found unconscious in his home on Monday afternoon. It was reported in July that the actor was battling depression and checked himself into a rehab center in Minnesota.

Currently, police are investigating the incident and the coroner will produce a toxicology report before determining the final cause of death, according to a press release from the Marin County’s Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Business Insider, Robin Williams was last seen alive with his wife at about 10 p.m. on Sunday.

His wife, Susan Schneider, released this statement:

This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.

Williams’ press representative Mara Buxbaum released this statement:

Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late.

This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.

Robin Williams won best Supporting actor in the movie, “Good Will Hunting” and was most known for his role in “Mrs. Doubtfire“. Earlier this year his new TV show for CBS was cancelled following mixed reviews and low ratings.
