OWN’s new TV series Ambitions will film in Atlanta this Fall 2018.
According to the AJC, Atlanta producer and filmmaker Will Packer will be shooting his next TV series Ambitions in Atlanta, Georgia for the OWN network.
Packer, who is known for such hit films as Ride Along, Girls Trip and Think Like a Man told the news outlet that after filming What Men Want starring Taraji P. Henson in Atlanta that he plans on working on a new TV series for the OWN network. In fact, the Hollywood producer said he”he tries to do as much as possible in Atlanta”
Casting for Ambitions has not been finalized for the drama, which is described as “a multi-generational family saga centered around one woman who, having recently relocated and intent on revitalizing her marriage, finds herself going head to head with some of the most powerful and deceitful players in the city.”
This would be Packer’s second show on OWN after signing a deal with OWN parent company Discovery Communications, which invested in Will Packer Media. Packer’s first production Ready to Love is a reality show that also shot in Atlanta.
“Ambitions” is set to begin production this fall locally and will debut on OWN next year. Moreover, the writers room will be based out of Atlanta, which is reportedly unusual as most TV shows hire writers based out of Los Angeles, California.
