Nickelodeon is Moving Forward on that Nicktoons Movie

Date:

Nicktoons movie will feature everyone’s favorite ’90s cartoon characters.

Nickelodeon is officially moving forward with its plan to give ’90s kids something new, but instead of Captain America, Thor, or Black Widow facing an alien invasion, it will be Tommy Pickles, Norbert Beaver and Eliza Thornberry.

Basically, Nickelodeon and Paramount are actually going to make that new Nicktoons movie “Avengers-style” according to AV Club.

Deadline says that it’s going to be directed by Napoleon Dynamite’s Jared Hess.

While, Deadline compares the new Nicktoons movie to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, it’s not clear if the movie will actually be about these characters teaming up to fight some kind of villain, or if they will just hang out int he background while a live-action actor does their things.

But, the report does confirm at the very least, Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh! Real Monsters, and The Angry Beavers are going to be involved. But, expect to see protests if ’90s kids don’t see characters from Hey Arnold! and Doug.
