Lena Dunham’s 1960 comedy starring Lisa Joyce is now casting extras in Los Angeles, California.
Central Casting Los Angeles is looking for background actors to work on the new HBO TV pilot from the creator of Girls, Lena Dunham.
The new HBO TV Pilot, Max, is a single camera series that centers around the struggles of women in the second wave feminism focusing particularly on Maxine Woodroof, an ambitious writer played by Lisa Joyce.
According to Deadline, “Maxine is an enthusiastic, if misguided, low-level magazine employee who stumbles into the forefront of a civil rights movement both she and the world may not be ready for.”
This will be Lena Dunham’s first production since Girls, which she wrote, directed and starred in at the age of 25. She would later earn several Emmy nominations in all three categories.

ASHLEY IS LOOKING FOR: NON UNION MALES AND FEMALES TO PORTRAY CAUCASIAN, AGE 20’S TO 60’S. FOR NEW HBO PILOT DIRECTED BY LENA DUNHAM. This is a 1960’s period piece, set in upstate New York. Costume fitting on Friday November 6th. Shoot date is Thursday November 12th.
SHOW GUIDELINES: Absolutely NO TATTOOS, PIERCINGS, TAN LINES, AUGMENTED BREASTS, OVERLY HIGHLIGHTED OR OMBRE HAIR. Must have completely natural looks. Must have natural-looking nails or nails where color can be removed or changed. Girls must have hair that is no longer than 2 inches past shoulders – shoulder length hair or shorter is preferred. Guys must be clean shaven and willing to get a haircut. Hair in this time period for men was short on sides and long enough on top to part. Ladies will be asked to arrive to shoot day (and possibly fitting) with rollers in their hair. Men must be size 36 waist or smaller and women must be size 8 or smaller.
