Are you fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and looking for an opportunity to showcase your skills on the big screen? Smyth Casting is seeking an ASL interpreter for an upcoming OWN movie filming in Ottawa on May 12, 2023. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in a major motion picture production and work with industry professionals.

In addition to being proficient in ASL, Smyth Casting is looking for a BIPOC interpreter to fill this role. The entertainment industry has made strides toward increasing diversity and inclusivity on and off-screen, and this casting call is a prime example of that effort. As the interpreter for this production, you will translate spoken dialogue into ASL for actors or crew members who are deaf or hard of hearing. You may also be asked to assist with rehearsals or read-throughs to ensure accurate interpretation.
