Commercial Acting Tips

One of the most important things to remember when auditioning for a commercial is that you are selling something. Whether a product, service, or idea, your job is to convince viewers that they need what you’re offering. Here are a few tips to help you nail your next commercial audition:

1. Know your product. Before you even step into the audition room, make sure you know everything there is to know about the product or service you’re trying to sell. What are its features and benefits? How does it differ from other products on the market? The more you know, the more convincing you’ll be.

2. Be enthusiastic. It’s essential to come across as genuinely excited about the product or service you’re selling. If you’re not active, the viewer won’t be either.

3. Be natural. Even though you’re reading from a script, it’s important to sound like you’re not. It means speaking in a natural, conversational tone and avoiding any sales-y language.

4. Make eye contact. This one is important! When speaking to the camera, making eye contact with the viewer is essential. This will help create a connection and make your pitch more believable.

5. Smile. A genuine smile goes a long way in making a good impression. Not only will it make you seem more likable, but it will also help put the viewer at ease.
