Amazon Studios Shelter (TV Series) cast, casting calls, auditions, and news you should know.
Amazon Studios has picked up and ordered a TV pilot based on the Young Adult novel Shelter by Harlan Coben.
According to Variety, Shelter is the first novel in Coben’s Mickey Bolitar book series. MGM acquired the rights to all other books in the series. Should the series get picked up it will appear either on Amazon Prime Video or IMDB TV.
Shelter comes from MGM International Television Productions. Ed Decter will work as the showrunner and executive producer. Coben will also executive produce the project with Erik Barmack
“Shelter is a compelling story that hooks you from the beginning, with a hero you love to root for in Mickey,” Vernon Sanders, co-head of television, Amazon Studios told Variety. “We’re thrilled to team with MGM, Harlan, and Ed to bring this popular character to life on screen.”
Coben has over 75 million books in print, with 31 written novels so far. Other novels include Win, The Boy From the Woods, Run Away and Tell No One. He is also the creator and executive producer on several Netflix shows including The Stranger, Safe, The Five, and The Woods. Coben also worked as the showrunner on the French TV mini-series No Second Chance and Just One Look.

Shelter Plot:
In the novel, Bolitar witnesses his father’s death and sends his mom to rehab. He is forced to live with his estranged aunt and switch high schools. Fortunately, he meets a great girl, Ashley, and it finally feels like things are improving until Ashley goes missing. Mickey starts investigating to find Ashley and finds an underworld that revealed Ashley isn’t who she claims to be and neither was Mickey’s father. Mickey learns about a conspiracy that has him questioning everything in his life he thought he understood.
