Acting Tips for being Santa Claus this holiday season.
When it comes to being a Santa, the key is to bring the character alive. Here are some tips that can help you get into the role:
- Speak in a jolly way. A bellowing “HO HO HO” and hearty laugh can set you apart from the rest of your peers. Speak with enthusiasm and make sure your voice carries, so everyone knows you’re there!
- Act out certain gestures, like rubbing your belly or stroking your beard, as these create an inviting atmosphere for children who may be shy about approaching you. Remember to smile as much as possible and give out plenty of hugs too!
- Put on a white wig and fake glasses to add to your Santa look. You can also wear a red sash and carry a sack of presents if you want extra authenticity.
- Wear lots of layers to keep warm, because being in the cold for too long isn’t fun! Keep some hand-warmers in your pocket, so you don’t freeze on the job.
- Bring festive music, such as carols or other holiday songs, to set the mood. This will help make it feel like Christmas is truly here!
