Fox releases their first trailer to the new midseason drama, Empire starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
Terrence Howard plays Lucious Lyon, a charismatic, CEO of a record label titled Empire Entertainment that is in the verge of going public.
Tarji P. Henson plays Cookie Lyon, the ex-wife of Lucious Lyon, who served 17 years for dealing drugs, and used the money to help finance Lucious’ music empire before it became successful. Now that she is out of prison, she is coming for her half in the company.
Jussie Smollett plays their son Jamal, a rapper who is also gay. Something that Lucious, the father cannot accept.
Lee Daniels, who is directing, is collaborating with his The Butler writer, Danny Strong, on the project, with Brian Grazer also producing.
