Leonardo DiCaprio 1980s Gangster Series Headed to Showtime
Leonardo DiCaprio is headed back to TV. It’s been a long time since Leonardo DiCaprio appeared on TV. In fact, his last television role was when he played Luke Brower in the hit 1980’s comedy Growing Pains and while many of the details have not been released yet on whether he will be in front of the camera on the project, THR is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio is teaming up with Showtime to produce a 1980s Mafia drama to TV.
HBO’s hit historical gangster series Boardwalk Empire was a major success for the network, and it looks as though Showtime is looking into filling the void ever since Boardwalk Empire aired their final episode.
According to the report, the show will be set in 1980s Brooklyn and “traces a decade-long relationship between an unstable mafia captain and a rogue federal agent, each violating the strict codes of their respective organizations.”
With hit gangster TV shows such as Power, Empire, and Boardwalk Empire, expect Showtime’s 1980s gangster series be a success, especially with Leonardo DiCaprio behind the wheel.
