Do you have The Force? Do you want to work on alongside Disney and Star Wars? Well, we have great news for you. Lucasfilms is now hiring.

 

Lucasfilm is now hiring a ton of jobs to work on Star Wars and several other motion pictures, books, and TV shows. Lucasfilm is a film and TV production company based in San Francisco, California. The studio is best known for creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, as well as being the leading developer for special effects and computer animation.

Founded by filmmaker George Lucas in 1971, most of the company’s operations moved to San Francisco in 2005. Since then, the Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4.06 billion.

Under the deal, Disney acquired ownership of Star Wars and Lucasfilm’s operating businesses in live-action film production, consumer products, video games, animation, visual effects, and audio post-production.

 

LucasFilm’s latest movie, Star Wars: Episode VII was a box office monster. In fact, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the highest grossing movie in the world with over a billion dollar in ticket sales alone. Since, the Disney acquisition, Lucasfilm is creating a new Star Wars movie every year with plans on several spinoffs, reboots, and prequels.

Producers are currently working on the upcoming Indiana Jones sequel and the upcoming Star Wars movie, Episode VIII. Lucasfilm is now hiring a ton of job opportunities for aspiring filmmakers, animators, and creative talents. On their website, Lucasfilm says:

We create amazing visual effects and sound design. We market, distribute and license our products and services around the world. We’re constantly striving to push the envelope and work with the best talent in the industry.

Here are 5 LucasFilm jobs you need to know.

1. VP of Development

The VP, Development is responsible for ensuring the best possible execution of the Lucasfilm content plan across all platforms.

2. Senior Creative Producer

The Sr. Creative Producer is a people manager, project strategist, and creative contributor to creative projects and special assignments spanning the multiple creative disciplines of behind the scenes content, marketing, consumer products, licensing, online, TV, print, corporate presentations, and videos.

Reporting to the Head of Franchise Creative & Asset Management, this role is skilled in client leadership, managing budgets, and developing new resources for projects, responsible for leading the planning, scheduling, budgeting, development, and execution of multiple and simultaneous creative projects from kickoff to final delivery.

The Sr. Creative Producer is a highly collaborative role, responsible for working with a creative team as well as third party licensees and promotional partners to develop and produce promotional/sizzle reels, electronic press kits, show launches, image campaigns, sales presentations, original shoots, and all creative tactics which further elevate the Lucasfilm brand on a global basis; ensuring message and branding are on target. Additionally, the Sr. Creative Producer will be a continuous resource of ideas for new and on‐going projects.

3. Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will support the Head of Franchise Creative & Asset Management.
• Managing calendars, expense reports, travel, preparing for presentations, meetings and other key events, and creating swag bags for clients.
• Screen and prioritize all incoming phone calls, mail and/or meeting requests and correspondence. Also handle overflow or non-essential email communication.
• Assist with all general administrative functions such as mailings, filings, and material routing.

4. Collections & Exhibitions Archivist

The Collections & Exhibitions Archivist will be part of the Physical Assets division of the Franchise Creative and Asset Management Department at Lucasfilm Ltd. The position will coordinate incoming collections from production and outgoing loans to internal departments within Lucasfilm and the wider Walt Disney Company as well as external exhibitions. Under the supervision of the Manager, Physical Assets, the Collections & Exhibitions Archivist will play an integral role in shaping the Physical Assets division through participation in the implementation of departmental policies and procedures and the development of its collection management systems.

5. Business Affairs Coordinator

The Business Affairs Coordinator will provide administrative support on multiple projects for multiple attorneys, staff within Business Affairs and production executives. Serve as a point of contact to determine how inquiries should be handled, work closely with attorneys to provide support with drafting and administering various types of policies and agreements.
