The Hunting Party: Cast, Episodes, and Behind-the-Scenes Details on NBC’s Crime Drama
The Hunting Party is an American procedural crime drama television series created by JJ Bailey that premiered on NBC on January 19, 2025. The series follows a high-stakes investigative unit tasked with tracking down some of the most dangerous serial killers in the country—criminals who were secretly imprisoned in a facility that was never meant to exist.
After a successful first season, The Hunting Party was renewed in May 2025. Season two officially premiered on January 8, 2026, continuing the show’s serialized mystery and expanding its world.
What Is The Hunting Party About?
The story of The Hunting Party begins when a secret underground prison hidden beneath the Wyoming countryside suffers a catastrophic explosion. The prison—known only to a select group of government officials—was used to hold the nation’s most violent serial killers off the books.
When those inmates escape, former FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson is brought back into active service. She joins an elite task force made up of intelligence officers, military operatives, and special agents to hunt down the escaped criminals before they strike again.
As the team works case by case, a deeper conspiracy begins to emerge—raising questions about what truly happened inside the prison, who caused the explosion, and why the facility existed in the first place.
