Job Responsibilities

Actors for Intimate, Character-Driven Short Film

Job Description
A grounded short film is casting union and non-union talent for a Vancouver-based production exploring mental health and intimacy through a queer-centered lens. This is a naturalistic story told with emotional honesty and care, with all intimacy scenes professionally guided by an intimacy coordinator. This is an opportunity to collaborate on an artful, meaningful narrative while working with a supportive and inclusive team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray emotionally nuanced characters in a grounded dramatic setting

  • Engage in sensitively choreographed intimacy scenes with professionalism

  • Collaborate closely with director and intimacy coordinator for authenticity and safety

  • Deliver authentic performances centered on connection, vulnerability, and identity

Requirements

  • Lead Role

    • Late 20s to mid 30s

    • Woman, transgender woman, or nonbinary

    • Queer-identifying

    • Comfortable with partial nudity and simulated intimacy (no explicit content)

    • Available all three shoot days

  • Supporting Role

    • Mid 20s to early 30s

    • Female-identifying, nonbinary, or gender-diverse

    • Queer-identifying or LGBTQ+ allied

    • Comfortable with light intimacy (no nudity)

    • Available all three shoot days

  • Principal Role

    • Ages 20–30

    • Woman, transgender woman, or nonbinary

    • Social, expressive, and confident—social media–savvy a plus

    • Available for a half-day shoot

Compensation

  • Lead: $300/day (3 days)

  • Supporting: $250/day (3 days)

  • Principal: $200 flat (½ day)

  • All roles paid under UBCP/ACTRA Ultra Low Budget (ULB) agreement
