The role involves capturing high-quality field sounds to enhance the viewing experience. The operator will follow the action on the field by moving along the sideline or endline and aiming the parabolic microphone dish toward the ongoing play.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate a wired parabolic microphone dish to capture on-field sounds during the game.
- Move along the sideline or endline, following the flow of the game and pointing the mic toward the action.
- Ensure the audio captured is clear and aligns with the broadcast’s requirements.
- Work in collaboration with the broadcast production team to capture the best sound.
- Remain physically active and mobile for the duration of the event, maintaining focus.
- Adapt to outdoor working conditions, including possible exposure to varying weather elements.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of the sport being covered (football knowledge is a plus).
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Ability to handle working in outdoor weather conditions.
- Familiarity with basic audio equipment (experience with parabolic microphones is an advantage but not mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused on capturing real-time audio.
