Art Director for Brand Identity

We are looking for a talented and experienced brand designer who can lead us artistically in the visual communication of a client’s brands. This role will concept and create fresh brands that tell a cohesive story visually and achieve specific measurable outcomes in creating brand awareness and applied marketing. As the steward of our client’s brand identity and communications you will have the opportunity to put your stamp on the product that we deliver to our clients and make an impact on lives of the team here. Your work also will shape how each client’s audience perceives them.

You’ll work alongside a team of talented individuals who have a passion for creative excellence. We value the ability to adapt quickly, handle multiple projects, work independently at times, and accept feedback from agency leadership including our Creative Director. You’ll have an opportunity to be a part of exciting projects for both large and small brands.

Responsibilities in Brand Creation and Marketing:

  • Creating Brand Identities: Concepts and creates fresh, relevant, and clear brand identities for our clients.
  • Establishes the overall look and feel for each client’s brand in the form of brand guidelines.
  • Selects and hires freelancers and outside vendors (i.e. print) that best fit a given role or project. This role will manage freelance design professionals during project assignments.
  • Pitching: Pitching branding creative concepts with unique, creative ideas to clients, developed from your own ideation as well as the team’s creative concepts. This includes taking ownership of the client’s brand, staying on top of the latest branding strategies and design trends, and taking your own initiative to find creative solutions.
  • Designing brand extensions that carry the brand’s message such as unique packaging concepts, desirable apparel lines (including messaging), and engaging branded graphics for spaces and vehicles.
  • Creating supporting branded content such as infographics, social media elements, pitch decks, etc. This means strategically thinking through the copywriter’s messaging so that the supporting design of each piece accurately reflects, pairs best with, and clearly communicates the client’s stated competitive value and consistently communicates their brand.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of agency design experience. Must have agency-specific knowledge: familiarity with agency terminology, processes, and emerging/relevant technology and social/media channels
  • Ability to communicate concepts and ideas to others concisely and clearly through written, drawn and verbal (pitching) means, particularly design staff across disciplines and project managers
  • Ability to apply visual creativity to strategically solve real-world problems.
  • Ability to influence others and demonstrate a sense of humor
  • Strong conceptual, graphic design, type, and page layout skills for projects ranging from logos to web/digital.
  • Results oriented and self-motivated
  • Exceptional listening skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail, reliability and great energy
  • Intimate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other essential creative tools/technology

Compensation Details:

  • Ultra-low-budget rates in accordance with ULB guidelines. Specific rates will be provided upon offer.
