We are casting adults 18+ who can portray African American Men who own an Upright Bass, preferably with some instrument experience but optional.

There will be a bump if you can provide your instrument on filming day. You will not have to play for real, but you must be able to convincingly pantomime.  

Date: COVID Test Mon MAR 6; FILM Tues MAR 7
Filming Location: Atlanta area, No Vaccine Required 
Rate: $175/12 for Filming date, $43.75 for Covid test, plus a $50 Bump for bringing your own Upright Bass.

Haman is an evil and cunning character who becomes the Grand Visor of Persia and devices an evil plot against the Jewish people. In the end his plot falls on his own head.

Requirements: Male, Ages 20-60, Good actor, ability to portray a sly cunning character, good singer, dramatic actor, Christian, good stage presentation. Send in a dramatic acting monologue.

Mordecai is Haman’s rival. He is a Jewish scribe for the Persian Empire. He has conviction and great courage. He raises his cousin Esther to fear the Lord and when she becomes Queen, he encourages her to go before the King to save her people. He does not bow to the wicked Haman even though the King required it.

Requirements: Male, Ages 20-60, Good actor, a man of conviction, Christian, good singer, ability to memorize many lines. Send in a video of a dramatic acting monologue.

Also, auditioning for good dancers. Dancers are performers in the Persian palace. Send in video of a ballet sequence.

Julius Caesar Stage Production Casting Call

Job Description:
A Brooklyn outdoor theater production is now casting equity and non-equity actors for Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. This Shakespeare casting call is open to performers of all genders, with most tracks involving doubling. The production will take place in Carroll Park and is seeking bold, vocally strong actors ready to perform in an outdoor environment without sound amplification.

This is a paid theater opportunity offering a stipend for the showcase run. Actors with classical training, strong text clarity, and musical abilities are encouraged to submit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform in a live outdoor production of Julius Caesar

  • Memorize and deliver Shakespearean text with clarity and confidence

  • Participate in rehearsals and collaborate with the ensemble

  • Adapt performance for an outdoor setting without amplification

  • Potentially double in multiple roles

Requirements:

  • Equity and non-equity actors

  • Open to all genders and backgrounds

  • Strong vocal projection and command of Shakespearean language

  • Ability to perform outdoors

  • Submit a 1–2 minute Shakespearean monologue

  • Include headshot and resume

  • If applicable, submit a video of musical instrument performance
