Job Description

The Argyle Theatre at Babylon Village is casting professional non-equity adult actors, ages 18 and older, for its upcoming children’s theatre production of Freckleface Strawberry: The Musical. All roles are open, with opportunities for performers to showcase their acting, singing, and movement skills in a family-friendly stage production performing in Long Island, New York.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform one or more featured roles in the musical production.
• Attend scheduled rehearsals and live performances.
• Collaborate with the director, cast, and creative team.
• Perform musical theatre material, including singing and movement.
• Maintain professionalism throughout rehearsals and performances.

Requirements

• Non-union, non-equity adult actors ages 18+.
• Strong musical theatre performance skills.
• Submit a 32-bar musical theatre video audition.

Compensation

• Stipend provided for each rehearsal day.

The Argyle Children’s Theatre is casting for the lead role of Princess Melisande, the title character of Sleeping Beauty. This female-identifying role requires a performer who can bring youthful warmth, elegance, and emotional depth to the daughter of the King and Queen. A graceful presence and strong character portrayal are key for this professional non-union production.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray Princess Melisande, a loving and regal young woman with charm and innocence

• Lead the story arc as the sleeping princess with courtly poise

• Rehearse and perform consistently with professionalism

• Collaborate with cast, choreographers, and creative team to deliver a standout lead performance

Requirements

• Female-identifying, age 18+

• Non-union

• Strong stage presence, expressive acting, and graceful movement

• Must be a local hire or have local housing in the Babylon, NY area

Rehearsals & Performances

• Rehearsals: June 23 – July 18, 2025

• Performances: July 19 – August 31, 2025

• Rehearsals run weekdays 10 AM – 3 PM in West Islip, NY

• Shows scheduled on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with some weekday mornings

• Portray the Queen with grace, poise, and emotional range

• Embrace a Shakespearean-inspired performance style

• Bring warmth and empathy to the character in scenes with family

• Rehearse and perform consistently throughout the summer production

Requirements

• Strong stage presence and vocal delivery in classical performance style

• Must be local to Babylon, NY or have local housing

Rehearsals & Performances
