The Argyle Children’s Theatre is now casting for the role of The Queen in its professional non-union production of Sleeping Beauty. This dignified role calls for a female-identifying actor who can portray elegance and strength in a Shakespearean style, while also delivering warmth and maternal presence. This is a key role in a magical children’s theatre experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray the Queen with grace, poise, and emotional range

  • Embrace a Shakespearean-inspired performance style

  • Bring warmth and empathy to the character in scenes with family

  • Rehearse and perform consistently throughout the summer production

Requirements

  • Female-identifying, 18+

  • Non-union

  • Strong stage presence and vocal delivery in classical performance style

  • Must be local to Babylon, NY or have local housing

Rehearsals & Performances

  • Rehearsals: June 23 – July 18, 2025

  • Performances: July 19 – August 31, 2025

  • Weekday rehearsals: 10 AM – 3 PM in West Islip, NY

  • Shows: Saturdays, Sundays, and some weekday mornings

Compensation

  • Stipend provided per rehearsal and performance day

  • Transportation and housing not included

A Brooklyn outdoor theater production is now casting equity and non-equity actors for Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. This Shakespeare casting call is open to performers of all genders, with most tracks involving doubling. The production will take place in Carroll Park and is seeking bold, vocally strong actors ready to perform in an outdoor environment without sound amplification.

This is a paid theater opportunity offering a stipend for the showcase run. Actors with classical training, strong text clarity, and musical abilities are encouraged to submit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform in a live outdoor production of Julius Caesar

  • Memorize and deliver Shakespearean text with clarity and confidence

  • Participate in rehearsals and collaborate with the ensemble

  • Adapt performance for an outdoor setting without amplification

  • Potentially double in multiple roles

Requirements:

  • Equity and non-equity actors

  • Open to all genders and backgrounds

  • Strong vocal projection and command of Shakespearean language

  • Ability to perform outdoors

  • Submit a 1–2 minute Shakespearean monologue

  • Include headshot and resume

  • If applicable, submit a video of musical instrument performance

Compensation:

  • $2,000 stipend
