Job Details
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or above in Computer Science or related software engineering field
- 10+years of data management consulting or industry experience in driving Data Strategy and
Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Catalogs and Lineage, Data Modeling, Data Governance, Data
Quality and Master Data Management
- Experience in architecting, designing and building (and/or migrating) scalable and sustainable data
driven solutions in a robust modern data stack on cloud technologies AWS, GCP, Azure etc.
- Extensive hands-on experience in data warehousing design, tuning and ETL/ELT process development
- Data modeling experience working with various types of data models (RDBMS, NoSQL, Graph,
Columnar, Document)
- Experience in implementation and performance tuning MPP databases (Snowflake, Redshift, EMR,
Databricks)
- Experience leading and managing data delivery project teams through all phases of the project
lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go
live
- Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Privacy concepts and regulations – GDPR
- Experience with Big Data tools; Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive etc
- Experience with tools like Airflow and data storage formats such as JSON, Parquet, Avro etc
- Proficiency with the AWS cloud services EC2, EMR, RDS, Lambda, S3, Redshift (spectrum) etc
- Programming Languages Java, Python, Shell, PHP, Perl, Scala
- Experience with Scrum/Kanban desired
- Experience with migrating to Snowflake from Redshift – highly desired
- Experience integrating mParticle with Redshfit/Snowflake valued
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences whether impromptu on a
whiteboard or using presentations and demos.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will
- Define the Data Strategy, Architecture and Roadmaps for our Data platforms to effectively support
the business strategy
- Empower Analytics team with a flexible and sustainable data platform and Analytics Ready Data
models to analyze, manipulate, and deliver meaningful and actionable insights
- Work with peers within the group – Data Engineering and Analytics leaders and lead a small team of
data engineers to ensure successful delivery of strategy and implementation of data management
solutions
- Manage Data Quality and Governance and other related important aspects around Data
Management
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, conceptual architecture and data
solution design. Develop and evangelize patterns, principles, and best practices for infusing analytics
and artificial intelligence into new solutions being developed or planned
- Lead process design reviews, conduct current state analysis, future state and roadmap creation and
assessments, project assessments, architectural discussions, design exercises and define detailed
implementation blueprint to build and automate large scale migration of data
- Apply modern data management toolsets and methods to design, build, implement, and optimize
data solutions of all types – including data warehouses, data lakes, ODS, streaming data, analytic and
BI/visualizations, etc
- Drive new data driven capabilities around business intelligence and analytics
- Interact across multiple business areas, proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects
to ensure successful development of appropriate data deliverables
- Collaborate and build trusted partnerships with Senior Leadership, Business Leads, Product Owners,
Web & Mobile Developers, Analytics Leads to implement the data strategy and to promote datadriven culture withing the company
- Demonstrate strong relationship management capabilities with an ability to engage, influence and
collaborate with stakeholders across organizational boundaries enabling the delivery of high standard
outcomes
- Track industry and technology trends to identify new approaches or paradigms in data and analytics
and use this information to influence leaders and develop future states and roadmaps
- Define standards and provide governance oversight to ensure project adherence to information
architecture strategy, principles, standards, policies and procedures throughout all project phases.
Provide guidance to the team on overall data architecture best practices
- Training, coaching, and supervising staff. Build and sustain a strong technical team with improved
technical acumen to support future growth.
