A production team is casting performers for a short play titled Safe Places: An Odyssey of Therapy as part of the New York Theater Festival Summer Fest. This non-union production will feature a 30-minute absurdist comedy exploring the complexities of family life, therapy, and personal growth. Selected actors will participate in rehearsals and live performances as part of the theater festival, with opportunities to be seen by scouts and industry professionals attending the event.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in a live theatrical production as part of the New York Theater Festival Summer Fest.

• Rehearse with the production team to prepare for scheduled performances.

• Interpret and perform comedic and character-driven material in a stage environment.

• Collaborate with the director and cast to bring the script and characters to life.

• Deliver engaging performances in front of live festival audiences.

Role Available

• Dr. Kolt / Luna – Ages 30–50. A slow-speaking, unnervingly calm therapist whose behavior blurs the line between deep spiritual awareness and uncomfortable impropriety. The character communicates heavily through physical proximity and subtle physical actions. Requires strong physical comedy skills and the ability to portray contrasting emotional states, including calm stillness and sudden hysteria. The role also doubles as Luna, David’s young daughter.

Requirements

• Strong comedic timing and physical performance ability.

A Brooklyn outdoor theater production is now casting equity and non-equity actors for Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. This Shakespeare casting call is open to performers of all genders, with most tracks involving doubling. The production will take place in Carroll Park and is seeking bold, vocally strong actors ready to perform in an outdoor environment without sound amplification.

This is a paid theater opportunity offering a stipend for the showcase run. Actors with classical training, strong text clarity, and musical abilities are encouraged to submit.

Job Responsibilities:
