Casting Call: Talent for Function of Beauty Campaign

Job Description:
Function of Beauty is searching for vibrant and authentic individuals to be part of their upcoming beauty and wellness campaign. As a brand ambassador, you will showcase Function of Beauty’s personalized haircare, skincare, and body care products while emphasizing their clean, cruelty-free formulations. We are looking for creative and engaging talent who can bring the brand’s values to life through content creation, both in video and photography.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent a brand that celebrates individuality and caters to personal beauty needs with bespoke products. Your role will highlight how Function of Beauty’s products can be customized to suit each person’s unique preferences, from ingredients to fragrance and even personalized product names.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging video and/or photo content that highlights Function of Beauty’s personalized approach to haircare, skincare, and body care.
  • Showcase the use of customized products (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, body wash) that are free of parabens, sulfates, and cruelty.
  • Present Function of Beauty’s commitment to clean, dermatologist-tested ingredients in your content.
  • Demonstrate the brand’s customizability by focusing on the unique product options (color, fragrance, product naming) and how they enhance the user experience.
  • Contribute creative ideas to the campaign to ensure that the content is fresh, exciting, and aligns with Function of Beauty’s mission of redefined personal care.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Previous experience in content creation, social media influencing, or beauty ambassador roles is preferred.
  • Passion for clean beauty and personalized wellness products.
  • Strong on-camera presence with the ability to communicate effectively and authentically.
  • Familiarity with Function of Beauty or similar customizable beauty brands is a plus.
  • Ability to create high-quality, visually appealing content that aligns with the brand’s tone and values.
  • Enthusiasm for cruelty-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, and environmentally conscious beauty products.

Position Summary:

The Communications team is hiring for a Part-Time Social Content Producer. The Communications team leads the integrated marketing approach across PR, influencer and social media for the company with a strong focus on digital and social communications to drive brand awareness and visibility for the brand.

We are seeking a creative, self-starting individual with deep experience in creating social-first content to create and execute photography and video content that elevates the brand storytelling and aesthetic while driving engagement across organic social channels. As the Social Content Producer, you are a storyteller as much as you are a producer, as you create a wide variety of content, across social platforms, and work to bring marketing initiatives and visions to life! This position will collaborate with the Director of Social and Creative team to translate the overall brand marketing message into an aligned and innovative creative vision across Function of Beauty’s social channels.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Social and Creative Team in the planning and ideation of monthly content for organic social channels with a primary focus on Instagram and TikTok, Youtube as secondary platform.
  • Define, develop and produce the Function vision through video and storytelling
  • Film + edit all in-house static and video content across TikTok, Instagram Reels and Instagram Stories, ensuring proper formatting and delivery of final files
  • Stay current TikTok and IG reels trends to be able to input on creative execution in-line with monthly content calendar, while ensuring every piece of content aligns with our brand voice.
  • Collaborate with the social team to ensure that every piece of content is relevant and evaluate performance metrics to maximize engagement, reach, and awareness.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of social media KPI’s to help optimize and pivot social strategies, tactics and content evolution.
  • Potential attend relevant brand events and shoots to capture, produce, social media content (mostly NYC)
  • Create + execute original social concepts for launch campaigns and brand activations to drive engagement, education + awareness

Education/Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years experience in social media content creation, specifically in the social media space across beauty, lifestyle or fashion brand
  • Proficiency in photo/video shooting + editing, including basic styling, studio lighting and equipment knowledge
  • Demonstrated success in producing social-first content across organic social channels (Instagram and TikTok)
  • Passionate about social media storytelling with an understanding of best practices with a clean, modern and highly visual aesthetic – must have work examples to share
  • Ability to inspire creativity, think strategically, and be flexible

Employment Category:

  • Part-Time, Non-Exempt
  • $40-$45/Hr

Position Summary:

The Marketing team is hiring for a Marketing Manager that will report into the Executive Director, Marketing. The Marketing team focuses on launching new product categories and SKU’s. The team has a laser focus on delivering project milestones on time, in budget, and with superior quality while partnering with cross functional stakeholders.

We are looking for a seasoned NPD lead with a detail oriented lens and proven advanced portfolio management. As a Marketing Manager you will collaborate with Creative, Retail Marketing, Research & Development, Regulatory, and Finance. You are a self-starter who is excellent at follow-through and creative problem solving. You are persistent and adaptable, always eager to learn something new.

What You’ll Do:

New Product Feasibility Evaluation:

  • Translate portfolio analysis into strategy and execution for the US Market
  • Find white spaces
  • Recommend SKU rationalization (fragrances, colors, low sellers)
  • Determine size of opportunity + target audience

Financial and Competitive Analysis:

  • Forecasting
  • Pricing
  • Return on investment
  • Costing direction
  • Competitive review

Artwork Project Management:

  • Create and manage timelines with stakeholders through creative and regulatory reviews
  • Organize briefs through to artwork trafficking and approval

Implementation of New Programs:

  • Support team with formula testing and sustainability
  • Recruitment and tracking formula samples
  • Summarize formula evaluations
  • Maintain brand archives

External Partnerships with vendors:

  • Support lab and contract manufacturer briefs for formula development for haircare
  • Identify packaging and fragrance direction

Who you are:

  • 5 years of experience in global marketing product development with 2+ years in developing hair products
  • Strong passion and enthusiasm for the hair care category
  • Experience in product concepting, ideation, packaging, formula design
  • Experience in go to market asset production: creative briefs to internal creative team and agencies
  • Proven track record of delivering and planning project timelines
  • Experience in working with labs, fragrance houses and CMS
  • Creative and analytical thinker with an ability to simplify and navigate through complexity to find ways to get the job done.
  • Leans in, helps teammates, makes it happen.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams with a positive attitude

This is a hybrid role and is required to report to the NYC office 2x/week.

Employment Category:

  • Full Time, Exempt

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $75,000 – $95,000. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge and skills.
