According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled the new TV series after watching the pilot.
ABC will not move forward with its Susannah Grant drama series Members Only, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The cast was informed Saturday that the network did not want to move ahead with the series starring John Stamos and Breaking Bad‘s Betsy Brandt.
The series was ordered a straight-to-series production in January and featured David O. Russell (American Hustle) to write and produce the 13-episode drama. However, a month later, Russell left the TV series, which would have been his first TV project.
The upstairs-downstairs soap opera centers on the powerful and wealthy Holmes family, owners of Connecticut’s most exclusive clubs.
ABC currently has a full list of replacement shows to take Member’s Only including Astronaut Wives Club, Captain America spinoff Agent Carter, John Ridley’s American Crime, The Whispers and Ryan Phillippe’s Secrets and Lies. In addition, ABC has several new comedies including Galavant and Fresh Off the Boat.
The decision to drop Members Only comes as ABC has had a strong fall line up with Shonda Rhimes-produced productions including the new series How To Get Away With Murder.

Mockingjay Part 1 has the worst opening and rating in Hunger Games Franchise history.
Katniss Everdeen reunited with the cast and crew for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 this weekend, and the movie made nearly $123 million domestically and $275 million worldwide. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 had the highest domestic opening of 2014 beating out Transformers 4 which made $100million. In addition, the Hunger Games franchise opened with three consecutive $100 million openings in a row. However, studio executives are calling The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 disappointment:
Mockingjay‘s debut doesn’t compare favorably to the other movies in the Hunger Games franchise, though: it’s down 22 percent from Catching Fire‘s $158 million, and is also significantly lower than the original movie’s $152 million. More surprising is the fact that Mockingjay wound up lower than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1′s $125 million and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1‘s $138 million. [BoxOfficeMojo]
At the same extent, many people call The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 the worst movie in the Hunger Games franchise.
In terms of demographics, Lionsgate said Mockingjay played in line with Catching Fire, with females making up 60 percent of the audience, while 52 percent of ticket buyers were under the age of 25. Mockingjay — Part 1 also earned mixed reviews, and audiences gave it an A- CinemaScore, compared to an A for the previous two installments. [HollywoodReporter]
Many people blame the low box office earnings on the fact that movie studios enjoy splitting the final movie into two parts. However, the Hunger Games were able to make $275 million out of the first half of the book. You can say that The Hunger Games saw a 22% drop in revenue. However, you can also say that The Hunger Games Mockingjay made a ton of money on half of a movie.
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. It is the sequel to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and will be followed by the concluding entry, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 continues to follow Katniss Everdeen. After, surviving the Hunger Games twice, Katniss finds herself in District 13. Is the Atlanta, Georgia production getting the axe? After only 13 episodes, NBC is halting production and cutting 9 episodes from the show’s first season. However, NBC is still considering a second season renewal despite having low ratings.
According to Deadline, NBC has decided to halt production:
The cast and crew of the series were informed on Friday that the series will halt production after completing production on the initial 13-episode order. Constantine will remain in its 10 PM Friday time slot for the remainder of its run. […] It is not clear what NBC will air in the Friday 10 PM time period after Constantine‘s run is over, though previous slot occupantHannibal, which has been renewed for a third season, is considered a strong possibility.
Constantine is currently struggling to find an audience on Friday nights. According to reports, NBC Constantine averages a low 1.04 in the key demographic and only 3.5 million viewers.
Before you get upset, there still is a chance that NBC will not cancel Constantine.
The decision to cut the number of episodes comes after NBC’s Constantine featured a 38 percent increase over the previous week’s episode in the key demographic. In addition, it retained 85 percent of Grimm’s 18 to 49 audience. Both are ratings highs for the series since the show premiered in late October.
In addition, Constantine has been on fire in DVR viewings. NBC Constantine has had an increase of 81% in viewers up to 3 days after the episode has aired.
Rotten Tomatoes gives NBC Constantine a 70% positive rating calling “Constantine ’s creepy atmosphere, high-stakes action, and splendid special effects combine with a welcome touch of humor to overcome narrative flaws and present a version of the title character that’s close to his comics counterpart.”
NBC’s Constantine is developed by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer for NBC. Constantine is based on characters appearing in the comic series Hellblazer published by DC Comics. Constantine features Matt Ryan as John Constantine and the show centers around a man struggling with his past sins and trying to protect humanity from a supernatural threat.

1. Shailene Woodley: She Was Almost Katniss Everdeen

Shailene Woodley was no stranger to young adult fiction adaptations when she auditioned for the role of Katniss Everdeen. The actress, later known for her lead roles in Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars, seemed like a natural choice for the fierce yet vulnerable Katniss. Lionsgate executives reportedly saw great potential in her audition and kept her in mind for future projects. Though Jennifer Lawrence ultimately donned Katniss’ Mockingjay pin, Woodley’s career didn’t falter. Instead, she became the face of Divergent, another blockbuster franchise based on a dystopian society.
Woodley’s portrayal of Tris Prior in Divergent drew parallels to Katniss, with both characters challenging corrupt systems while fighting for survival. However, where Katniss was a reluctant hero, Woodley’s Tris embraced her rebellion from the start. Her career only soared from there, making her a household name among fans of Suzanne Collins and Veronica Roth alike. Imagine how The Hunger Games might have felt with Shailene in the lead—would she have brought a softer edge or an equally fierce determination to Katniss?

2. Grant Gustin: A Flash of Finnick Odair
Grant Gustin, now celebrated as Barry Allen in the hit CW series The Flash, tried his hand at landing the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Finnick, a Capitol favorite and one of the most complex characters in the series, plays a pivotal role in the rebellion against President Snow. Gustin’s boyish charm and charisma seemed like a good fit for the part, but the role eventually went to Sam Claflin, whose nuanced performance won over fans and critics alike.
While Gustin missed out on portraying Finnick—who wielded his trident as both a weapon and a symbol of rebellion—his career trajectory didn’t slow down. Shortly after auditioning, Gustin landed the lead in The Flash, where he became the Scarlet Speedster. As Finnick, Gustin might have showcased his vulnerability and courage in the deadly Quarter Quell arena. But in his role as Barry Allen, he captures a different kind of heroism, proving that sometimes rejection leads to better-suited opportunities.
3. Evan Peters: Peeta Mellark’s Almost-Twin

Evan Peters, widely known for his work in American Horror Story and as Quicksilver in X-Men, was one of the actors considered for the role of Peeta Mellark. Peeta, a male tribute from District 12, becomes a key ally—and eventual love interest—of Katniss Everdeen. Peters reportedly tested alongside Jennifer Lawrence, but the chemistry between her and Josh Hutcherson ultimately sealed the deal.
Peters’ career, however, didn’t suffer from this missed opportunity. His portrayal of Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past became an instant fan favorite, and his chilling roles on American Horror Story earned him widespread critical acclaim. As Peeta, Peters might have brought a darker, more brooding quality to the role, contrasting with Hutcherson’s warm and empathetic portrayal. Still, it’s hard to imagine anyone else beside Lawrence as Peeta, given the intense and complicated relationship that defines the heart of the story.

Johanna’s fierce personality, sharp wit, and unflinching resolve made her one of the most memorable characters in Catching Fire. Though Wasikowska was a top contender, the role ultimately went to Jena Malone, whose fierce performance left an indelible mark on the franchise.
Wasikowska, however, went on to carve a successful career in indie and blockbuster films alike. Her role as Alice in a box office smash established her as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. While her version of Johanna might have been intriguing, Malone’s intensity perfectly captured Johanna’s blend of strength and vulnerability. Chloë Grace Moretz, star of Kick-Ass and Carrie, openly expressed her desire to play Katniss Everdeen. In an interview, she shared, “I’d die to play Katniss. It’s such a cool role.” Despite her enthusiasm, Moretz lost out to Jennifer Lawrence. Still, the actress went on to star in The 5th Wave, another young adult adaptation, solidifying her place in the genre.
Moretz’s youthful energy and fierce determination could have brought a fresh dynamic to Katniss, emphasizing her rebellious nature. However, Lawrence’s portrayal balanced Katniss’ vulnerability and strength, creating a character that resonated deeply with audiences. Moretz continues to thrive in Hollywood, tackling a variety of roles that showcase her range and versatility.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 was release on Friday, November 21st and it is reported that it will be the box office’s number one movie. The Francis Lawrence directed production based on the novel Mockingjay, the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins, and the third installment in The Hunger Games film series, produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik and distributed by Lionsgate.
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. It is the sequel to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and will be followed by the concluding entry, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 continues to follow Katniss Everdeen. After, surviving the Hunger Games twice, Katniss finds herself in District 13. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss reluctantly becomes the symbol of a mass rebellion against the Capitol and fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage. Principal photography for both parts of the film began on September 23, 2013 in Atlanta, before moving to Paris for two weeks of filming and officially concluding on June 20, 2014 in Berlin.

1. Philip Seymour Hoffman

Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee, tragically died with one week of filming left. Due to the fact that the majority of his scenes for the final two movies were already filmed, the role was not re-cast, but finished with a combination of re-writes.
2. Kissing Scenes
According to Liam Hemsworth, Jennifer Lawrence would purposely eat foods with garlic or tuna fish before any kissing scenes between the two.
3. Casting Decisions
Julianne Moore stated that her two children, both fans of the novels, convinced her to sign on for the role of Alma Coin.
4. Singing
Director Francis Lawrence made Jennifer Lawrence sing the lullaby “the hanging tree” that was also in the book, she stated that it was an awful experience.
5. Secret titles
In an attempt to prevent spoilers and keep secrecy, the working title of the project while filming was “Seashore”.
6. Hair Styles
Natalie Dormer actually shaved half of her head when she played the role of Cressida
7. Teamwork

With the first movie weighing in at 2 hours and 22 minutes and the second at 2 hours and 26 minutes, this is the shortest Hunger Games movie to date with just 2 hours and 3 minutes of running time.
10. Hardcore stunts
Liam Hemsworth told EM he had a hairline fracture between his ankle joints during filming. “I heard a big crack and just went down.”
11. Contact lenses
Apart from the wig, Julianne Moore also wore dark contact lenses for her role as President Alma Coin in Mockingjay.

13. Release dates
The second part of this movie is set to come out almost exactly a year after this one was released.
15. Something was different
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson stated in an interview that filming this Hunger Games film was different from the first two.

17. Effie Trinket
Although the character of Effie Trinket only appears briefly at the end of the novel, her role has been expanded in the films. Reportedly, after seeing Catching Fire, author Suzanne Collins called director Francis Lawrence and said, “There’s no way Effie Trinket cannot be in the Mockingjay films.”
18. Choking
Filming in the sewage pipes, Jennifer Lawrence reportedly had a choking fit on the dry ice/smoke used in the scene.

Splinter Cell movie to begin production early 2015.
Hidden within an interview with Collider about John Wick, producer of The Town, and The Expendables, Basil Ilwanyk revealed that the upcoming Splinter Cell adaptation is currently in development. According to reports, the Splinter Cell movie has been in development for several months and stars Tom Hardy in the lead role and directed by the Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman.

Even though the movie does not have a release date, Ilwanyk gave a production update that points to a production start date of early next year.
“Splinter Cell will go some time next year, that’s Doug Liman and Tom Hardy. We’re getting the script right because if you have Doug Liman and Tom Hardy you want to make it great. It’s very, very active. We’re going to make it. Tom and Doug are going to make it when it’s perfect and we’re getting there. It’s not a movie you want to jam [together] quickly. We have three perfectionist. Ubisoft, who has a huge asset on their hands so they’re not going to make a movie for the sake of making a movie. We have Doug Liman, who’s Doug Liman. He’s not going to make a movie for the sake of making a movie. Tom Hardy is one of the hottest actors in the world. With that combination, we have to make it great. We all know that.”
From Ubisoft and 20th Century Fox, Splinter Cell was written by Sheldon Turner (X-Men: First Class, Up in the Air).If production does start early next year, than we should expect to hear some more updates on the film in the coming months, so stay tuned to Project Casting for updates.

Queen Latifah Show is now over after CBS pulls the plug
It’s official, The Queen Latifah Show has been canceled. The syndicated daytime show from Sony Pictures Television will show down production at the end of 2014. Original episodes will continue to air on CBS stations until March.
“We want to thank Dana, the producers and the entire staff of The QueenLatifahShow for creating a program that we are all very proud of,” producers SPT said in a statement. “Thank you also to our terrific station partners and advertisers who supported the show.”
Latifah announced the news on her page with a letter to herself as well as the staff and crew:

Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The QueenLatifahShow off the ground and running.
Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed “True Grit”!
