‘Loving’ Feature Film Acting Auditions Open Casting Call for New Talent in Richmond, Virginia.

Arvold Casting has recently worked on casting the Virginia based projects Turn, Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, Ithaca, Big Stone Gap, Wish You Well, and many others.  Anne Chapman recently cast Shooting the Prodigal, MacBeth, Lincoln, Big Stone Gap, Assassinaut, and frequently collaborates with Arvold.  Sarah Dowling has worked in casting on such films as The Untitled Terrence Malick Project 2015, Mud, and The Tree of Life.

Now this creative team is working with Academy Award nominated filmmakers for the upcoming feature film ‘Loving’. Loving centers around Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who resided in Virginia in the 1950s, whose love for one another changed history through the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case ‘Loving v. Virginia’.

Virginia Film Office Director Andy Edmunds states, “Working with exceptional filmmakers while highlighting remarkable Virginians and their story is an honor.” And in regards to the open calls, “What a wonderful opportunity for Virginians to participate in this important film.”

According to the casting call, producers and casting directors are looking for residents of all ages and ethnicities, especially older adults, children and families of African American, Native American, Caucasian and mixed heritage.  African American and mixed ethnicity children ages 0-6, expectant mothers of all ethnicities, and African American Grandparents are encouraged to attend.  They are also seeking experienced bricklayers, blue-collar construction-worker types, politicians and business types, teachers, drag race hobbyists and period car mechanics.

Three open casting calls will be taking place for the upcoming feature film ‘Loving’. Each call will be focused on finding the above roles as well as people of all ethnicities with interesting, expressive faces.  Acting experience is not necessary and if selected for a speaking or a non-speaking role, compensation will be on the scale of other professional productions.

“We are thrilled to be working on such an important story,” said casting director Erica Arvold, “Anne Chapman, Sarah Dowling and I look forward to discovering some new talent and faces at these open calls!”

Attending one (1) of the three scheduled open calls is highly encouraged for those who’d like to be considered to appear in this feature film.

  • Sunday, June 28th, The Black Swan, 9 W Old Street, Petersburg, VA  23803 from 12PM-6PM. Parking is available in a lot behind the building along Pike Street or on the street.

Each open casting call will consist of a brief talk with a member of the casting team and possibly an interview on camera.  No appointment is necessary, but a positive attitude and the ability to quietly wait are good traits to put to use when attending an open casting call.  ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING A NON-RETURNABLE PHOTO.  Candid, non-professional photos are fine.  If you do have a headshot/resume, please bring two (2) copies. Emiley Kinney and Norman Reedus from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead‘ are now dating.

Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus, who met on AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ are officially dating. According to reports, the celebrity zombie killing couple are now seeing each other.

“They had a connection early on in the show,” says a source close to the duo, “but the romance developed recently. They’re still pretty guarded about it.”

After Kinney’s character, Beth, was shockingly killed off in 2014, she and Reedus, 46, who plays zombie hunter Daryl, stayed in touch through texts, appearances at fan conventions (the two are scheduled to appear at the Walker Stalker Con event in Orlando, Fla., on June 27 and 28), and at Kinney’s music gigs. Says the source, “He was one of the first to support her at her concerts when she was still on the show.

Norman Reedus is currently filming ‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 in Atlanta and Emily Kinney is currently on tour.

Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live?”

How Kim Kardashian Used Snitching to Become Famous

Before becoming famous, Kim Kardashian was a close source to several tabloid magazines, selling stories about Paris Hilton to InTouch magazine.

Kim Kardashian’s story is so outrageous and down right ridiculous that she has become an icon in the entertainment industry.

But, before Ray J, Kanye, and Kris Humphries, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star, Kim Kardashian was a personal assistant to the original sex tape star reality star Paris Hilton. Kim used this close connection with Paris Hilton to sell stories to tabloid magazines.

Several former [InTouch] employees confirmed that before Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with Ray J was leaked in 2007, Kim served as a source for In Touch stories, providing a steady stream of information on Paris Hilton. [Buzzfeed]

Kim Kardashian denies this, but according to reports, it’s not hard to beleive that Kim had a direct line to InTouch. Here’s how your favorite gossip stories get printed:

In Touch piqued that fascination by manufacturing elaborate, multipart, melodramatic narratives—the stuff of soap operas. Which made sense: The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Richard Spencer, came directly from Soap Opera Update. Several former employees remember Spencer laying out a four-act cover drama for what would happen between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the beginning of each month— a pregnancy, for example, followed by a breakup scare, a reconciliation, and then marriage rumors.

The beats of the drama may have been fictionalized, but it was easy to find sources— including rival publicists, other celebrities, former friends, estranged family—to support the claims. Still, according to Jo Piazza, who served as executive editor at In Touch from 2012 to 2014, “the majority of the stories were true.” “They were double-sourced,” she said. “It’s just that those sources were celebrities and publicists,” and then referred to as “a source close to the family” or “a friend.” It’s not that In Touch made things up; it’s that the publicists and family members and celebrities themselves did.

Apparently, after Kim Kardashian helped out InTouch so much in the past, the company helped her become a star. When ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashains’ premiered in 2007, Kim and her sisters began appearing on covers of several tabloids including InTouch, often giving “exclusive” interviews that nobody really wanted.

‘Married at First Sight’ Husband Threatens to Kill His Wife

Everyone on “Married at First Sight” gets divorced- or at least that’s how it looks.

‘Married at First Sight’ series is based on a Danish series of the same name titled Gift Ved Første Blik. The series features three couples, paired up by four experts, who agree to marry when they first meet. The couples spend their wedding night in a hotel before leaving for a honeymoon. Upon returning home, they live together as a married couple for a month. Thereafter they choose to divorce or stay married.

But, the show is now 0 for 3. According to reports, every couple has broken up on “Married at First Sight”. One couple was so scary and dangerous that police were involved., Jessica Castro filed a restraining order against her estranged husband Ryan DeNino.

A Queens woman, who went on a cable reality show in which two strangers get hitched moments after meeting, has filed court papers saying her random groom threatened to kill her and her family.

Jessica Castro, 30, claims her experiment in whirlwind weddings on A&E’s “Married at First Sight” went horribly wrong after her groom, Ryan De Nino, of Staten Island, made his creepy murder vow in March.

“I will break you into f—ing pieces,” the 29-year-old business consultant raved, according to a Queens Family Court petition filed Friday. “I will break your dad into pieces. I will make your whole family disappear — and your f—ing dog-ass sister’s boyfriend.” [NYPost]

Things get worse. The husband was caught on camera saying that he was going to kill his wife. According to the petition, De Nino was caught on a live mic saying, “She’s f—ing dead. When I get back to Brooklyn, she’s f—ing dead, this girl.”

Maybe getting married at first sight is not a good idea. Since the show first aired, only two couples from the first season of “Married at First Sight” – Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis and Jason Carrion and Cortney Hendrix – remain together.

Is HBO’s ‘VEEP‘ the funniest show on TV. According to science, yes they are!

According to a new study, HBO’s ‘Veep’ is probably the funniest show on television. ‘Veep’ is HBO’s political comedy series, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, set in the office of Selina Meyer, a fictional Vice President, and subsequent President, of the United States. The series was created by Armando Iannucci, who created the British political comedy series The Thick of It, and also wrote and directed that series’ film spin-off In the Loop(2009), all of which feature the same writing staff.

Now, the same writers have accomplished an incredible front. After a recent study, VEEP has the most jokes per minute than any other half-hour comedy show.

Veep crams more jokes into a half hour than any other show currently on television and perhaps more than most actual Presidential administrations likely can cover in two terms. With that in mind, we decided to see if we could calculate just what Veep’sJoke Per Minute total (or JPM) is.

One episode had over one hundred jokes with 3.81 jokes per minute.

‘Veep’ has received critical acclaim and won several major awards. It has been nominated three years in a row for thePrimetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, its second season won the Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Comedy Series, and its third season won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. It joins The Office, 30 Rock, and Modern Family as the only comedy series since 2000 to win awards from both the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America in the same year. Louis-Dreyfus has won three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards, oneScreen Actors Guild Award, two Critics’ Choice Television Awards and one Television Critics Association Award for her performance.

How Binge-Watching is Destroying Cable

Is the binge-watching trend destroying television?

It has been nearly four years since Netflix put “House of Cards” and “Orange Is The New Black” into development. Now, after three seasons, fans are arguing that Netflix/binge-watching is ruining television.

Critics are arguing that people like shows like ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’ would not survive outside of Netflix.

If the third seasons of “House” or “Orange” were on a weekly network schedule, we predict each would have had a highly rated premiere followed by a rapid decline, as so many viewers have found both shows to be off their game.

But, it begs the question are terrible shows better because you can watch every episode all at once? According to Rotten Tomatoes, the basically the series.

‘House of Cards’ debuted with stellar ratings but, critics hated last season.

Season three introduces intriguing new political and personal elements to Frank Underwood’s character, even if it feels like more of the same for some.

NYPost explains why:

Netflix subscribers see “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” or “Bloodline” on different timetables, so you can’t talk about individual episodes without alienating those who are not on your calendar. Getting ahead of the story only works to a show’s benefit when the series is compelling — when the pace is sluggish or the story lines are just not working, there’s no reason to eat the whole cake when one slice is more than enough.

However, will bring a new era of television. Producers will have to increase the action and excitement in order to stay alive in this industry. More and more people are cutting their cable contracts and signing up for like streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

In fact, some young adults may never even pay for cable TV in their lifetimes.

The number of cord-cutters, which Experian considers people with high-speed Internet who’ve either never subscribed to or stopped subscribing to cable or satellite, has risen from 5.1 million homes to 7.6 million homes, or 44 percent, in just three years.

In 2013, 6.5 percent of households in the U.S. had cut the cord, Experian found, up from 4.5 percent in 2010.

Either jump on the bandwagon or see the future of television fly by. Or, cable will end up like Blockbuster.

‘Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210’ movie is coming to the Lifetime Network.

After the success of the “Saved By the Bell” and the upcoming “Full House” behind the scenes TV movies, Lifetime is creating another “unauthorized” TV movie based on the “Beverly Hills, 90210”.

From Variety:

“The Unauthorized ‘Beverly Hills 90210′ Story” will follow the “roller coaster ride” of the series, highlighting the drama between cast members Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and producers both on and off set. The telepic will follow the show’s ups and downs from many near-cancellations to achieving pop culture phenomenon status and creating international A-listers.

Casting directors are currently looking for actors to play the original stars. This summer’s “Unauthorized ‘Full House’ Story,” will premiere this August.

The last time the “Beverly Hills 90210” was on television was the CW remake “90210,” which lasted five seasons and ended in 2013.

‘Beverly Hills 90210’ chronicled the lives of a group of friends living in the upscale and star-studded community of Beverly Hills, California as they navigated high school at West Beverly Hills High to college at the fictitious California University, and subsequently into the adult world.

Entertainment Weekly named the show #20 on its list of top 100 TV shows in the past 25 years and the series finale had nearly 17 million viewers.

James Bond’s Opening Scene ‘SPECTRE’ Hired Over 1,500 Extras

The opening sequence of James Bond’s ‘SPECTRE’ hired over 1,500 extras – that’s one hell of a cattle call.

Late last year, before the title and cast of the 24th James Bond movie were even announced in London, there were reports that the ‘SPECTRE’ movie was way over budget. That information seems legitimate because it came from the Sony Hack, following the North Korea computer hack. But nevertheless, production continued with director Sam Mendes and his star, Daniel Craig. Still, it makes you wonder, what made the movie go over budget so quickly. This new new video definitely shows how over-the-top the new James Bond movie will be.

Mendes says that he “wanted the audience to be dropped right into the middle of a very, very specific, very heady, rich environment,” referring to an incredibly authentic Day of the Dead festival that will serve as SPECTRE’s opening sequence. At the end of the day, 1,500 extras were brought in to bring this festival to life and each one of them had a unique costume designed and created by the staff featured in this video, which I assume cost well over a few million to produce.

Kristen Stewart’s Mom: “Kristen’s Girlfriend Is Lovely”

After months of tabloid speculation, Kristen Stewart’s relationship status with her assistant, Alicia Cargile has been confirmed – by Kirsten’s own mother.

I guess no matter how famous you get, your mom will still be excited to tell everyone how proud she is of you.

Kristen Stewart’s mom, Jules Mann-Stewart, 55, told UK newspaper The Mirror:

“I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”

Despite the fact that things are getting much better for LGBTQ in the entertainment industry especially after Caitlyn Jenner’s transformation, there is still a long way to go. It is great for Kirsten’s mom for being one of the good guys and taking her daughter for who she is.

Contrary to the massive amount of speculation in the media, the only word from Kristen herself on the nature for her feelings for former assistant Alicia Cargile was during a Conan interview. In the interview Kirsten Stewart revealed that her relationship was “complicated”.

It is no wonder Kristen is upset with reporters. She is constantly followed by paparazzi. One incident with a paparazzi member hit a climax after a reporter asked her about her sexuality.

There have even been engagement rumors after Kristen Stewart was spotted wearing a ring on her ring finger in January.

Kristen Stewart’s mom, who also works in HOllywood as a script supervisor, elaborated on her support for Kirsten and her girlfriend in the same interview with The Mirror:

“What’s not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend? She’s happy.

She’s my daughter, I’m just her mom so she knows I would accept her choices.

I accept my daughter loves women and men.”

It’s great to see Kristen and Alicia happy together, and amazing that Kristen’s mom is chill and supportive about their relationship. Let’s hope more people can follow Jules Stewart’s example.

‘The Workman’s Cache’ Indie Casting Call in Los Angeles, California.

Brian spends most of his life in a cubicle, trying to stay sane, when a mysterious janitor drops off a pair of old-fashioned 3D glasses, that, when put on, take him to other dream-like worlds. He relishes in the experiences until one becomes all too real.

All roles will double up as office co-workers -and in different scenes kind of like in The Wizard of Oz where the actors all play different roles in different worlds. It will be fun!

Meals will be provided.
Copy and credit for film will be provided upon completion.

This is a student Thesis Film.

  • Casting Call for Janitor: The Janitor is a mysterious, one-of a kind man who works in an office. He gives our Lead Brian, the pair of 3D glasses which take him into a different realm. This role does not have any lines, but is a key role in our story. This role may also double up as a different role in the dream world sequence. Non-Speaking role. Open to all ethnicities. Must look 40-60’s.
  • Casting for a business/office like Boss. Very open to any look. This role will also double up as a possible gangster from the 1920’s or different role in the dreamworld sequence. Few to no lines. Open to all ethnicities. You should look in your 40’s-60’s.

TEN: The Enthusiast Network / Motor Trend seeks to fill (2) roles for a non-union web series Pilot “The Racing Line” to be filmed at Atlanta Motorsports Park for their online channel. Both roles will likely include some improvised/un-scripted dialogue. Talent will be filmed at the track and inside a test vehicle driven by professional driver Randy Pobst of Motor Trend

ROLE 1: 

Party Girl – Female; Age 21-30; Caucasian/European/Australian; 5’4” and taller; Blonde/dirty blonde; lean, hair shoulder length & longer.

Coachella Concert or Rave attire; tasteful, new age/hippy.  Actress/Model must be self sufficient bring own wardrobe to set as well as do her own hair & makeup. Un-scripted dialogue, some shots inside a high speed vehicle with professional driver.

ROLE 2: 

Homeless Drifter – Male; Age 35-55; Any Ethnicity; under 185lbs; Beard & longer hair strongly preferred

Wardrobe: knapsack or travel bag/backpack/tent; beanie or hat; layered mismatched clothing. He will need to do his own hair/makeup/wardrobe. Un-scripted dialogue, some shots inside a high speed vehicle with professional driver.
