MacGyver casting call for ninjas in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mark Wahlberg Says the NFL Told Him He Couldn’t Make ‘Ballers’

Mark Wahlberg claims the NFL’s commissioner didn’t like Ballers.

The second season of HBO’s Ballers, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, premiered on Sunday. And if you believe executive producer Mark Wahlberg, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell probably isn’t too thrilled about it.

Wahlberg went on ESPN’s Mike & Mike Saturday morning to talk about the show and revealed that Goodell called him last year and told him “you can’t do this.”

“The first season of the show, the only calls I was getting were from guys like Roger Goodell saying, “You can’t do this,” and various owners in the league too. We were saying it’s actually a good thing for the league and the players because … with the crazy stuff and the financial side of things and hopefully get them to realize that they have to be careful with their money. Now you get a lot of guys wanting to do it.”

It wasn’t really clear what was meant by “this,” but we would have to assume that Goodell was not too pleased to see all of the drugs, sex and crazy behavior depicted in the show about the NFL, a company still reeling from a history of domestic violence incidents.

Now, we have to wonder whether or not Wahlberg was just making this up to stir up controversy and press about the new season. But, as it turns out, Wahlberg could do “this” and he did do it, which must have been a real bummer for NFL executives. In addition, several more NFL players are scheduled to make cameos on this season of Ballers.

“We want to make sure the key is to make it as authentic as possible no matter how outrageous it gets. We always surround ourselves with real guys. Because the show is so accurate, that’s why you get guys like Ndamukong Suh, Terrell Suggs is on the show as well this year, Jarvis Landry, you got a lot of guys and not to mention countless Patriots. I can’t say who it is or what they’re doing yet because it’s a surprise and I don’t want to spoil the finale, but guys know that we make sure that we make it real.”

That sucks for the head of the NFL, he can’t even stop his own employees from a show he does not approve.

Here’s Where ‘Game of Thrones’ is Filming Next Season

Game of Thrones season 7 is going to film in one of the coldest places on earth.

After six seasons of “Winter is Coming,” Game of Thrones fans may actually see the Winter finally hit the popular series. Since winter means snow, the Game of Thrones creative team has pushed back production in order to accomodate the weather, and capture as much authentic cold as possible. And apparently, producers are not joking about seeking out some cold scenes as a new report suggests that Game of Thrones is moving to one of the coldest places on planet earth.

Icelandic news site Vísir.is (via Winter Is Coming) has indicated that filming will begin in the country sometime in January, and that HBO representatives have reportedly already met with local officials to prep for the shoot.

Nothing has been confirmed about specific locations in Iceland yet, though it would make sense that the Game of Thrones team would return to the country, after shooting several key scenes there throughout the show’s run. And if it’s authentic winter weather, Iceland should be able to deliver without a problem. In fact, average temperature in the country’s capital, Reykjavík, dipped down to -0.3°C (31.5°F) in January 2015.

So what can fans expect from the show’s Icelandic scenes? Visir.is’s report indicates that the action will involve six major characters, who are unnamed for now. There’s no official premiere date yet for season seven; we’ll have to wait and see if the production makes it through this rough winter first.

Jesse Eisenberg Shares Powerful Acting Tips

Jesse Eisenberg reveals how he watched movies for free and shares acting tips for aspiring actors.

Jesse Eisenberg is known for his on-screen persona, and the Academy Award-nominated actor knows this. In an interview with The Guardian, Eisenberg speaks about why his role in Now You See Me and its sequel is one of the best acting jobs he has ever had, and he shares his secret to acting in the amazing interview.

During a speech at CinemaCon, Eisenberg revealed how he joined the Screen Actors Guild when he was only a child and tricked the movie theater to show him free movies. “When I was about 18, I got my Screen Actors Guild card and, for some reason, I decided to tell my local Regal Cinemas box office that this SAG card allowed me two free movie tickets to any movie. I saw a movie, like every other day, at this Regal Cinema, illegally using my SAG card. Swordfish, Dr Doolittle 2, America’s Sweethearts, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Serendipity, Training Day, Shallow Hal,Gosford Park…”

Eisenberg says that he enjoyed working on Now You See Me franchise because it’s a completely different kind of character and he feels comfortable playing that role.

“I enjoy Now You See Me because my character is a performer. I’m also a performer obviously – but this guy is the most confident performer, he’s worked hard establishing this incredible skill-set and doesn’t apologize for it. He has confidence probably in excess and in a lot of ways I’m kind of the opposite.”

Eisenberg continues to argue and point out the connections, adding, “I perform on stage for a living, as my main job, and I have total stage fright and anxiety so reprising this character in Now You See Me 2, is really the only time I’m totally at ease. When you’re playing a character for a long time, several hours a day, for an extended period of time, over the course of a few months you end up subconsciously taking on the experience of that character. If you make the face of somebody confident for 12 hours a day, over the course of a few months, you end up tricking yourself into thinking that you have all those feelings and so, for me, this is the only time when I can actually lower my medication.”

Eisenberg confesses that he has an easier time portraying characters who are not like his real personality. He explains, “It’s much easier for me to play a character with some kind of eccentricity or strange behavior. Those roles are most comfortable to play because you just lose your consciousness. If you’re playing a character who is very similar to you, you are hyper-aware and second-guessing every aspect of that performance because it seems so close to you. But in a part that’s so different to me, I can just lose myself in the character and I don’t feel any of my usual self-awareness.”

Billy Bob Thornton Reveals His Life as a Struggling Actor [VIDEO]

Billy Bob Thornton shares powerful advice to aspiring actors.

In the early 80’s, Thornton, recalls in the video below, he left his small Arkansas town to move to Los Angeles in order to become an actor. He was barely able to make ends meet, working a job at a pizza parlor and renting a tiny one-room apartment with his friend and future writing partner, Tom Epperson. After paying rent, they only had $6 left each week to live on. Even though times were tough, he says that it made him and his dreams much stronger.

“My advice to anybody who wants to do whatever it is with their life is don’t ever let your dreams die because that’s what keeps an artist alive,” Billy Bob Thorton says in this video from Oprah Winfrey’s Master Class.

TNT Pilot ‘CLAWS’ To Film in Atlanta

Rashida Jones‘ new TV pilot CLAWS to film in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to Variety, CLAWS was originally developed for HBO as a half-hour comedy, but it was later picked up by TNT. Currently, CLAWS is being built into an hour long drama/comedy.

CLAWS is described as a “midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness,” which follows the rise of five diverse Florida manicurists in the traditionally male-dominated world of organized crime. The series will reveal that there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan salon of Manatee County than silk wraps and pedicures.

This is just the latest TV show to film in Atlanta, Georgia joining OWN’s Greenleaf, and The CW’s The Vampire Diaries.

‘Granite Mountain’ Starring Miles Teller Santa Fe Casting Call for New Talent

Granite Mountain starring Josh Brolin and Miles Teller is now casting new talent in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Granite Mountain feature film is now casting Caucasian men and women to work several days next week in the new movie. Producers are also looking fo rolder men and women who have not worked on the movie yet. Filming will take place next week in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

About Granite Mountain:

Originally titled “No Exit,” the film stars Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, Taylor Kitsch and James Badge Dale. “Tron: Legacy” helmer Joseph Kosinski will direct the movie, which follows the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of firefighters that faced one of the deadliest wildfires in history in order to save an Arizona town, resulting in the tragic death of 19 crew members. Kitsch and Bridges will play firefighters in the pic.

Jason Bateman’s Ozark is now casting business types in Atlanta, Georgia.

Netflix’s new TV series Ozark is now casting actors, models, and talent to play business types. Producers are looking for men and women between the ages of 20 to 40 years old to play business types. This is for a very small featured scene filming on Monday, July 18th in Roswell, Georgia.

About Ozark:

The drama series  starring, executive produced and directed by Jason Bateman, has landed at Netflix and centers around dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering. The series takes its name from the location where it is set, The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, according to Deadline.com.

Jason Bateman will be involved in establishing his creative vision for the series working with Bill Dubuque from The Judge. This will be Jason Bateman’s first major return to TV since Arrested Development for Netflix, which earned him a second Emmy nomination.
