‘Charmed’ Reboot Coming Soon to The CW

According to reports, the team behind Jane the Virgin are rebooting Charmed. 

The CW is reportedly working on a reboot to the hit Charmed series. The drama is being described by The Hollywood Reporter as a reimagining of the original TV series set in the late 1970s. The reboot will connect to the original series in some way, but not entire sure at this point.

The writers behind Jane the Virgin created the story and the script will be written by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin.

The Charmed reboot comes more than three years after CBS announced plans to remake the original series, which ran for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006 and starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan.

Ruby Rose She Slept on the Floor Before ‘Orange is the New Black’

Ruby Rose made her first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week. In the interview, the Orange is the New Black star opened up about becoming an actress and what it was like before her big break. Apparently, the actress was sleeping on a blow-up mattress with her dog on the floor.

The 30-year-old actress explained, ‘I started with a blow-up mattress from Target that I shared with my dog and now a year later, I’m on the Ellen show,’ she said.

‘Imagine not getting any work for two years and then getting to audition for the greatest show in the world,’ she said.

She was only supposed to appear in three episodes but, her performance was so great that her character was expanded to include nine full episodes.

She called working on the show as “life changing”

“[The cast and crew of OITNB] is such an amazing family unit of such supportive women, It was one of the greatest experiences of my life,” she said.

Popular Talent Agency Hit With Criminal Charges

Finding a talent agent can be tough. But, finding a legitimate talent agency can be even tougher. Now a major Los Angeles talent agency is in hot water after the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office has filed criminal charges against the agency.

According to Deadline, the Network International Models & Talent agency owners were charged with seven counts including representing children without a child performer service permit, falsely representing that the business was a licensed talent agency, petty theft, attempted grand theft and criminal conspiracy. If convicted, the owners, Patrick Arnold Simpson and Paul Atteukenian, could face up to four years in jail and $33,500 in fines.

Apparently, the talent agency was unlicnesed and were falsely claiming that they had a license to represent child actor and violating the Krekorian Act, which prohibits fees for representation.

From Deadline:

“The promise of Hollywood has lured thousands of people from around the globe to pursue careers in television and movies,” said LA City Attorney Mike Feuer. “Unfortunately, that promise also attracts unscrupulous individuals who would take advantage of those hopes and dreams. My office will hold accountable those who prey on aspiring performers to the full extent of the law.”

It is important to note that under the Krekorian Act, any talent agency that is representing a talent must not charge advance fees or require actors, models, or talents to purchase any services as a condition of representation. The services include: photo shoots, acting classes, or seminars.

According to Deadline’s report, Network International Models & Talent violated the Krekorian Act, after signing a teenage girl from Inglewood. The teen’s mother was allegedly charged $560 by the agency for headshots and a portfolio for her daughter. Plus, the mother was told that her daughter had been selected to attend a convention in New York that would cost $8,245 and she would have to pay her talent agency. The teen’s mother would later file a complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.

How to Get Harvard Photography Classes for Free

Harvard University is now offering free photography classes online.

Following in Stanford University’s foot steps, Harvard has announced that they are going to make their photography classes free online. The Ivy League University has uploaded their program on the online educational platform Alison.

There are twelve modules, with a 13th module that is a final evaluation that you have to take to complete the course.

The class many features the basics of digital photography, including classes on retouching software, how to use a digital camera, reading histograms, the importance of lighting and so much more.

The best part is that it is all free with no need to sign up or pay enrollment fees.

Ringling Bros. circus closes after over 100 years.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will officially close in May, after 146 years of performances, according to the Associated Press. The Greatest Show on Earth is officially coming to an end after declining attendance numbers over the last few years.

After the announcement, the animal rights group PETA immediately declared the closing of the Ringling Bros. circus a victory. Last year, the company decided to retire their elephants following backlash from animal activists and fans. However, between January and May, the circus is expected to hold 30 more performances before closing the curtain for good.

Here’s Why Johnny Depp is Suing His Managers

Johnny Depp sues managers in $25M suit fraud lawsuit

Johnny Depp is suing his managers for $25 million for fraud. According to reports, Johnny Depp’s manager denied the accusations and said the loss is due to the actor’s spending habits.

Johnny Depp filed the company against the Mandel Co., The Management Group, First American Title Insurance Co. and 15 other unnamed defendants.

In the complaint there are 11 causes of action including, fraud, negligent misrepresentation and unjust enrichment.

This is just the latest of a string of court battles and bad news Depp has been faced with. First there was the very public divorce with his ex-wife Amber Heard, then a Forbes report that named Depp as the most over paid actor in Hollywood.

American Animals starring Evan Peters is now hiring stand-ins in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tona B. Dahlquist Casting is now hiring stand-ins to work on the new feature film, American Animals. Filming will take place on Charlotte, North Carolina. Casting directors are also looking for people to work as PAs in the feature film.

About American Animals:

The unbelievable but mostly true story of four young men who mistook their lives for a movie and attempted one of the most audacious heists in US history; “American Animals” takes the thrill of the heist genre and turns it inside out, blurring the line between truth and fiction in a wild story of money, movies and the search for meaning.

American Animals Casting Call

AMERICAN ANIMALS (Charlotte, NC) -FIRST UP -We will be seeking 4 Caucasian Male Stand Ins, all with Brown hair but of various heights (between 5’7, 5’11, 6′, 6’1 for our 4 Male leads). Filming will take place in Charlotte and surrounding areas (such as Davidson College and so on).
Must be willing to work where you are needed and as a local hire.
These Stand Ins may will also be working as PA’s. These 4 Males will need to be 100% available and flexible February – March.
There will be more Stand ins of various ethnicities, gender and ages….we are awaiting additional cast information.
