Fox new TV series The Gifted is now casting prison guards in Atlanta, Georgia.

Casting directors are seeking Prison Guards and Female Inmates for TWO DIFFERENT days of work. Both roles will work on August 3rd or August 4th in Atlanta, Georgia.

About The Gifted:

The Gifted is an upcoming American television series created for Fox by Matt Nix, based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men properties. It is connected to the X-Men film series, the second television series to be so. The show is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, with Nix serving as showrunner.

 The series stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as ordinary parents who take their family on the run after they discover their children’s mutant abilities. Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White also star in the show. The series received a put pilot commitment at Fox after a previous attempted X-Men series did not move forward at the network in 2016; The Gifted was ordered to series in May 2017.

Internet Searches for Suicide Surged After ’13 Reasons Why’ Release

Netflix’s hit TV series 13 Reasons Why quickly became a pop-cultural hit but, also opened the discussion of suicide, bullying and rape. In the season finale of the hit TV series the character Hannah Baker kills herself in a prolonged three-minute scene.

Even though the story is told through flashbacks, the graphic scene is tough to watch. Now, new research suggests that the show could have triggered people to have suicidal thoughts.

The 13-episode series, which were released all at once in true Netflix fashion, centers around 13 tapes that Hannah sends to those who she blames for her actions. In April, it set the record for the most-tweeted-about show in 2017, when it was mentioned more than 11 million times within three weeks of its March 31 launch.

A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine has found that within the same three weeks, Internet searches about suicide were significantly higher than expected.

“Our analyses suggest 13 Reasons Why, in its present form, has both increased suicidal awareness while unintentionally increasing suicidal ideation,” the authors wrote. “The most rising queries focused on suicidal ideation. For instance, ‘how to commit suicide’, ‘commit suicide’ and ‘how to kill yourself’ were all significantly higher.”

Researchers also report suicide queries were up 19 percent in the 19 days following the show’s release, “reflecting 900,000 to 1.5 million more searches than expected,” the paper reported.

John Ayers, professor of public health at San Diego State University, wanted to analyze how the show impacted people after it sparked a debate between the show’s creators and mental health professionals about how the show depicts violence and suicide.

“Past studies have validated that Internet searches mirror real-world suicide rates, so suicide rates have likely gone up as a result of this program,” said Ayers. “For me, as a data-driven public health scientist, I see this troubling data as a strong call to action. The show must be taken down.”

The Washington Post reports, Netflix replied in a statement saying: “We always believed this show would increase discussion around this tough subject matter. This is an interesting quasi-experimental study that confirms this. We are looking forward to more research and taking everything we learn to heart as we prepare for Season 2.”

That said, Netflix has since released warnings ahead of its three most graphic episodes, including the suicide scene and links to suicide prevention websites and a hotline.

Production for the new season has already started. In fact, Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why has held open casting calls for the new season of the show.

Kim Kardashian Hit with $100 Million Lawsuit

Kim Kardashian’s company was hit with $100 million lawsuits over selfie product. Kim Kardashian’s company, Kimsaprincess, was named in a $100 million patent-infringement lawsuit over a line of LuMee selfie cases that Kardashian endorses.

In the suit, filed in federal court in California on Monday, Snap Light and Hooshmand Harooni, say that the selfie cases, which is described as “smartphone cases that provide bright, even lighting for capturing photos or video” are a rip off of Harooni’s creation.

“Ms. West’s endorsement is not a shill; she is also an ‘official’ partner with LuMee and has designed cases for LuMee,” the lawsuit reads. “However, Ms. West’s endorsement and her  … pecuniary gain have come at the expense of Plaintiffs — patent infringement. Mr. Hooshmand Harooni, the inventor of the ‘644 patent, is the true pioneer and innovator of illuminated selfie cases.”

Harooni obtained the patent in 2013 with Snap Light obtaining the exclusive rights to it in January 2017.

LuMee distributor Urban Outfitters is also involved in the lawsuit, which argues that the LuMee line has made it “extremely difficult” for Snap Light to compete in the marketplace.

“Despite having superior, patented products, it has been extremely difficult for Snap Light to compete in the selfie case market against Ms. West’s product influence and Defendants’ ongoing infringement,” the suit reads. “Snap Light and Mr. Harooni have suffered financially as a result.”

How much suffering? A lot, as it turns out. On top of an order preventing plaintiffs from infringing on the patent, the suit seeks an “award of $100 million to Snap Light of its lost profits or a reasonably royalty for Defendants’ sales, use, and/or endorsement of the Accused Products, subject to proof at trial.”

“The patent lawsuit filed by Snap Light has no merit and is just another attempted shakedown,” a Kardashian representative told TheWrap in a statement. “Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

HBO Hacked – Hackers Threaten to Release Episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’

The 2014 Sony hack rocked Hollywood and put the film community on high alert. However, HBO has become the latest victim targeted and rocked by hackers. According to reports, a massive hack occurred on Sunday, which reportedly claimed 1.5 terabytes of data including new episodes of Thrones, Ballers and Room 104.

“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information,” the network  to Entertainment Weekly. “We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.”

HBO did not go into the details but, Entertainment Weekly reports the hackers have already released episodes of Ballers and Room 104. Moreover, written synopsis related to the Game of Thrones have been posted online.

The hackers promised more material “soon” in an anonymous email sent to several entertainment reporters on Sunday.

Despite the warning, the hackers have yet to release any actual episodes of Game of Thrones. Meanwhile, HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler addressed the issue in an internal memo to all network employees.

 “I can assure you that senior leadership and our extraordinary technology team, along with outside experts, are working round the clock to protect our collective interests,” . “As has been the case with any challenge we have ever faced, I have absolutely no doubt that we will navigate our way through this successfully.”

The Originals is a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world’s original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans.

Casting directors are looking for an individual with real life experience as a photographer and with their own equipment including umbrella lights to work on ‘Valor’.

About Valor:

According to Deadline, actor Matt Barr stars in this action series for The CW network. “In Valor, the boundaries between military discipline and human desire are tested on a U.S. Army base that houses an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained to perform clandestine international and domestic missions. It centers on chopper pilots Nora and Gallo (Barr) who, after a botched mission in Somalia leaves a pair of American servicemen in enemy hands, train for a rescue operation and only they share a very large secret from the initial operation — a secret that must never come to the attention of the Army.”
