About Hamilton:

Hamilton: An American Musical is a musical about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, with music, lyrics, and a book by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The show features hip-hop music and a diverse cast to re-tell the story of America’s founding in a modern way. The critically acclaimed musical has racked up numerous awards, including twelve Tonys, the Pulitzer Prize for drama, and a Grammy.

Hamilton is a rap musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The musical centers around the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Miranda said he was inspired after reading the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. The show features heavily from rap, pop, soul, and traditional showtimes. What made the show different lies in the casting, which features non-white actors as the Founding Fathers and other historical figures.

Hamilton received critical acclaim. It premiered Off-Broadway on February 17, 2015, at the Public Theater, with Miranda playing the role of Alexander Hamilton, where its several month-engagement sold out. The musical then moved to the Richard Rodgers Theater on Broadway, opening on August 6, 2015, where it received positive reviews and high box office sales. At the 70th Tony Awards, Hamilton received a record-breaking 16 nominations and 11 awards, including Best Musical. In 2016, it received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

‘The Walking Dead’ Will Have a Naked Zombie in Season 8

Get ready to see more zombies in the second half of Season 8 on The Walking Dead.

“There’s an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before,” executive producer Greg Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly.

Nicotero did not reveal the zombie’s gender or whether the shot will be full-frontal or not, but were not expecting it to be sexy.

Could the naked zombie be the demise for Norman Reedus? Who knows.

Also in that same interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nicotero reveals there’s “much less talking about what’s going on” in the second half of the season.

“Clearly, the balance has shifted. Now that Negan and his group have escaped the Sanctuary, there’s not as much talking about what the ramifications are of what we’re going to do, but now our group has to be on the defensive because Negan’s out and he’s pissed and it’s definitely a different dynamic than the first half of the season.”

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC on Feb. 25.

For its fifth year running, Nat Geo WILD is seeking submissions from filmmakers about the wonders all around us. This year, the contest is specifically looking for short documentaries about animal lovers in your community.

Which is why for the fifth annual Wild to Inspire Short Film Contest, we’re asking you to turn the camera on the animal people in your community. The local vet. Dog walker. Farmer. Cat lady. The ultimate goal is to provide an intimate portrait of an individual and the role of animals in his or her life.

Submit your documentary and if you are one of three finalists chosen in March, you will get cash prizes and an invitation to attend the Sun Valley Film Festival to screen your film. From that screening, a panel of judges will pick the grand prize winner, who will then go on an expenses-paid National Geographic expedition.

According to Submittable, your documentary will be judged by these categories:

Last May 2017, Kanye West deleted his Instagram account.

But, just in time for Valentine’s Day, West reactivated his account to celebrate his love for Kim Kardashian. In his first post back, Kanye shares a cover of his handwritten card to his wife. Continuing with showing old photos of celebrity couples including a black and white photo of Sean Penn and Madonna and the third image of Kate Moss and Pete Doherty.

While there is no clue whether Kanye will return to social media, Kim recently teased a new line of Yeezy jewelry and sneakers scheduled to release in Los Angeles this weekend.

Acting Schools Are Struggling and Going Out of Business

Things are changing in Hollywood.

Video auditions are king. Los Angeles casting directors are under investigation for violating the Talent Scam Prevention Act, and social media followers have more of an impact on an actor’s success than their actual talent.

Now, acting studios are going out of business. Last December, the New York Times interviewed and investigated the Acting Studios business.

Hilary Howard, of the New York Times, asked Mary Boyer, an acting teacher and director who opened an acting school in New York, how business is doing and it does not sound like the industry is growing.

“The economy changed,” Ms. Boyer said, “and what actors and audiences wanted sort of changed all at the same time.”

Boyer added that more aspiring actors were expecting “instant gratification,” and as a result “craft classes” started decreasing in attendance. Ultimately, auditioning classes became her new business model.

Business was doing so poorly, that Ms. Boyer gave up her studio space and her teaching responsibilities to move back to her hometown in Toledo, Ohio.

“I just could not keep doing it,” Ms. Boyer said. The lease for her school was up for renewal, and she had realized two things: her rent would continue to increase, and the only way to survive would be to teach more audition classes. “My creative soul was crumbling,” she said.

But, Boyer is not alone. Two other acting schools, the Atlantic Acting School and the T. Schreiber studio, had to make significant changes to keep open their doors in Manhattan.

Pamela Moller, the executive director of the Neighborhood Playhouse explained colleges became their biggest competition. Moller explained the number of applications to join the Playhouse’s conservatory program, which teaches the Sanford Meisner acting techniques, dropped a decade ago. The school had to invest in recruitment to keep up their business.

Ultimately, acting schools had to raise prices, join university programs, or go out of business to deal with the changing business.

Tessa Thompson To Star in a Doris Payne Movie

A Doris Payne movie is coming soon and will star Tessa Thompson.

According to Variety, the currently untitled movie, which is being compared to Catch Me If You Can and The Thomas Crown Affair, is coming soon with Tessa Thompson playing Doris Payne, the infamous jewel thief whose crimes spanned across 50 years years.

Thompson tweeted that she chased “Doris and her story for years — and then keeping this secret for awhile — I’m screaming that this dream is coming true. She is a deeply fascinating woman.” 

Who is Doris Payne?

On October 29th, Payne, age 83, was arrested on felony larceny charges for stealing a diamond-encrusted ring in Palm Desert, California. Payne pled guilty. Then a year later, she was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by two years on parole, and was ordered to stay away from jewelry stores. However, she was released three months later due to prison overcrowding. In July 2015 she was reportedly stealing again. In 2015, she was caught on security cameras putting on Christian Dior earrings valued at $690.00 in her pocket at an Atlanta, Georgia Saks Fifth Avenue store. She was arrested and charged with shoplifting by Officers from the Atlanta Police Department.

Hooters Open Casting Call for the 2019 Hooters Calendar

Hooters open casting call for the 2019 Hooters Calendar.

LTP Management, which runs over a dozen South Florida Hooters restaurants, is holding an open casting call for female employees who want to be in the 2019 Hooters Calendar.

The company will be holding three open casting calls, which will be Feb. 19 in Boca Raton and Feb. 20-21 in Fort Lauderdale. Producers are looking for women who currently work at the South Florida restaurants, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

During the auditions, the women will be photographed in their favorite bikini and participate in an interview. Those selected will be shot from April 9-12 for the calendar.

Last December, the 2018 Hooters Calendar, donated $1 for every calendar sold to breast cancer research.
