Now a new movie inspired by the same premise is on the way to theaters with the genders flipped. According to Deadline, the forthcoming What Men Want will star Taraji P. Henson who plays “a female sports agent who has constantly been boxed out by her male colleagues.” She then uses her ability to hear men’s thoughts to her advantage at work.

Robert Downey Jr is Producing a New Series About Artificial Intelligence

Following in the footsteps of Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. has plans to produce a web series about Artificial Intelligence.

Co-produced with his wife, Susan Downey, and Derik Murray and Paul Gertz, of Network Entertainment, Downey Jr. will partner with YouTube Red to present an eight-part documentary about artificial intelligence. The program is part of a big investment by YouTube Red to expand its original content ahead of its planned global expansion; the service is currently offered in North America, Australia, South America and New Zealand, with plans to launch in new markets later on this year. Further details about the show have not been released. However, it is expected to debut in 2019.

A new Star Wars: Episode IX casting call has gone out and producers are looking for a female lead by the name of Caro.

According to reports, Lucasfilm is in the final preparations to begin filming on the final movie in the trilogy. Director J.J. Abrams is returning to finish the franchise he started with a script written by himself and Chris Terrio. As has become standard practice for new Star Wars installments, it looks like Episode IX is set to add some fresh faces to the franchise. According to That Hashtag Show, producers are looking for an “ethnic female” in the age range of 18 to 26 years of age. There is a reported preference of an African-American actress to land the role. Among the types, producers are looking include actors that have “captivating naturalness” and is “A leader and problem solver. She also has a sense of humor and “Strong will”. Who lands the role will be a topic of great interest. Historically for young lead roles such as this one, Star Wars traditionally picks up relatively unknown actors. Filming will begin in July. Netflix’s Mindhunter Season 2 is now casting bar patrons in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Monday, May 21st in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  • male bar patrons (military look), Male Cook – some experience = great!. Must be available ALL DAY this coming Monday, May 21, 2018 and available for a wardrobe fitting before work date in Cranberry area. Rate is $80 for 8 plus we pay you to go to wardrobe fitting (usually 45 minutes).

About Mindhunter:

Catching a criminal often requires the authorities to get inside the villain’s mind to figure out how he thinks. That’s the job of FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench. They attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Along the way, the agents pioneer the development of modern serial-killer profiling. Georgia-Filmed ‘Mile 22’ Features Mark Wahlberg as a CIA Agent (VIDEO)

The trailer for the upcoming Mark Wahlberg action movie Mile 22, has arrived.

The movie is directed by Peter Berg and stars Mark Wahlberg alongside John Malkovich, Lauren Cohan and Rounda Rousey. The Georgia-filmed production centers around James Silva (Wahlberg) as a CIA operative who’s part of a highly-prized unit that, along with a top-secret command team, must retrieve and transport life-threatening information through 22 deadly miles of enemy territory.

Mile 22 is the fourth collaboration with Berg and Wahlberg, a pairing that has launched the feature films Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day, and the Oscar-nominated Lone Survivor. In other movie news, Mark Wahlberg is now filming his latest movie Instant Family is now filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Netflix is on track to have over 1,000 original shows released in 2018, which is great news for the film industry.

Netflix has announced a major plan to create a massive libary of original programming. Now it appears as the streaming platform is on track to surpass 700 original TV shows, movies, documentaries and other Netflix productions. In a recent talk given by Ted Sanders, the company’s chief content officer said the company will reach 1,00 shows by the end of 2018.

The company counts original programming as either TV shows made by the platform, such as Georgia-filmed Stranger Things or shows licensed from other studios such as Orange is the New Black. The push for original content became more difficult to acquire and other companies such as Disney started creating their own streaming platform. Netflix says that more than 90% of Netflix subscribers watch original programming regularly and that there’s still 470 shows that are set to be released from now until the end of 2018.

What does this mean for the entertainment industry? This is great news for those working in the film industry. The more productions equates to more jobs in the film industry and more opportunities for people to get their foot in the movie and TV business.
