Actors Have Been Lying About Their Heights, and Marvel director James Gunn Is Not a Fan.

Apparently, actors are lying about their height. It’s pretty tricky and frustrating to break into the film business in Hollywood. Not only do you have to compete for parts against hundreds of individuals, but you may be eliminated based on your appearance.

This has encouraged many actors to lie on casting platforms about their appearance. Their heights are often stated as more significant than they are. This causes casting processes to be longer since people are brought in, examined, and vetted.

James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad, recently expressed his outrage on Twitter.

According to Gunn, falsifying your height loses you as many jobs as anticipated. It may also result in you being excluded from the entry pool. Directors frequently have preconceived notions about how big or little characters should be in their heads. Gunn used Guardians as an example, who said he wanted to employ genuinely significant actors in the film because he felt they were more believable.

While Gunn’s comments appeared harmless and well-intentioned, they irritated actor Anson Mount. He claimed that actor height is a form of sexism, masculinity, and male dominance in the film business.

While I believe there are several conversations about gender and male dominance in Hollywood, this may be going too far. According to some critics, Tom Cruise is short in stature, has had a successful career, and was recently cast opposite actresses who appeared to be smaller than he was (through the magic of movies). That is, outside of Eyes Wide Shut, where he starred with his then-wife Nicole Kidman, who was considerably taller than him.

Gunn respectfully responded, stating that the story determined his casting choices.

Aspiring models often wonder how they can make it in the modeling industry. There is no one answer to that question, but there are some tips that can help you get started.

‘Eragon’ Live-Action Series Coming Soon to Disney+

Fantasy fans will be thrilled to learn that Eragon is returning to Disney for its streaming service after two decades following the release of the book and 16 years following the feature film adaptation. Variety reports that Disney is attempting to relaunch the franchise through a new live-action series, which will function as a reboot rather than extending on the 2006 film, which was panned by critics but earned only $250 million in total despite an alleged $100 million budget.

It’s not clear what the Eragon reboot will entail at the moment, but it’s unlikely that the original cast would return; nevertheless, Paolini will be working on the project as co-writer. The book, previously self-published by an American writer in 2002, was rereleased in 2003. The storyline follows the adventures of young farmboy Eragon, who finds and raises a dragon egg hatches into Saphira. After working with Brom, his mentor, Eragon becomes a dragon rider to stop the evil king Galbatorix from enslaving Alagaësia.

There is no release date for the Disney+Eragon reboot yet, so those interested should keep an eye out for further information.

It’s not just her work on the screen that has captured audiences’ hearts; it’s also how she handles clients like Zoey Luna (a lead in the 2020 film ‘The Craft: Legacy’) and Emmett Preciado. For these stars, Thomas is more than management–she helps them find their true selves while working together to ensure everyone involved feels taken care of!

While the number of trans characters on TV has been climbing, much work remains to be done. In 2021-2022 alone, GLAAD reported that only 42 transgender people were portrayed in television shows across all broadcast networks and streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

Thomas says she’s proud that her client, Zach Barack (a trans male actor), won the role of Peter Parker’s classmate in 2019 ‘Spiderman: Far From Home.’ In this film, Marvel didn’t discuss his gender identity but instead let it shine through without any negative feedback or controversy surrounding their first openly transgender star–and Thomas is happy with how positively received he felt throughout all aspects after being heralded by media coverage as “the world’s first openly transgender actor.”

The consulting division helps productions address portrayals/ characters involving transexual themes; voiceovers too!

Jason Rodriguez, a star of the hit TV show ‘Pose’ and founder of Arraygency in 2021 with business partner Ricardo Sebastián has launched this agency to represent queer models BIPOC & trans singers/dancers. Laverne Cox, an openly transgender woman who has been nominated for multiple Primetime Emmys and won one Daytime Emmy in 2015 as well? That’s right. This talented actor/producer is perhaps best known for her role on ‘Orange Is The New Black,’ where she broke ground by being the first-ever trans person to be nominated – let alone win!

Asia Kate Dillon

The first openly non-binary actor to appear on network TV, they’re best known for their role as Mason. The Emmys have come under fire after announcing that there are only two gendered categories – Leading Man and Supporting Female Actor. In response, MTV created a gender-neutral award. 

Indya Moore

Moore made history as the first openly trans and non-binary person to grace Elle’s cover, which they took advantage of by shedding light on activism.

Dominique Jackson

Jackson’s book, ‘The Transexual From Tribago,’ is an engaging and fascinating read. She shares her journey from being discovered for the role on ‘Pose’ to eventually coming out as transgender with vivid descriptions that will leave you feeling like this could be your Story too!

MJ Rodriguez

The Puerto Rican beauty is best known for her role in ‘Pose,’ but she’s also appeared in shows like ‘Nurse Jackie’ and ‘The Carrie Diaries. When not working behind the scenes or onscreen, Rodriguez loves to represent inclusivity by representing all types of people through acting projects!

Jamie Clayton

With credits like ‘Faking It,’ ‘Shameless,’ and ‘The Foster’s Fletcher’ has played various roles. That is somewhat unusual for trans actors who often get pigeonholed into one type. He hopes that continues to happen because it would make his life easier as an artist someday, wanting to play ‘Spiderman’!

Josie Totah

When Totah was just five years old, she realized her true self. This came after being diagnosed with social phobia and anxiety disorder at the age of seven, but it didn’t stop there for this brave girl who has appeared on shows like ‘Champions’ or ‘Glee’!

Jen Richards

Her Story was groundbreaking in that it featured two trans women, played by Richards and Angelica Ross. The series wasn’t about tragedy or violence but rather their journey as people – this is something we need more often!

Alexandra Billings

Billings’ career has spanned the screen and stage, with roles in ‘Transparent’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ In her latest role, she plays a more rounded character in ‘The Connors.’

Nicole Maines

Maines plays a superhero on ‘Supergirl’ and gets to tell her Story. She’s also vocal about spreading awareness for violence against the trans community, as well as harmful anti-trans legislation happening in our country today–it affects people like herself who have been fighting hard so others can be safe too!

Trace Lysette

Lysette told them that playing a sex worker onscreen helps reveal the reality of her job. She has been in several movies, including ‘Transparent’ and ‘Pose,’ to show what it’s like as an exotic dancer or “stage Domina.”

He was quoted by the New York Times as saying that he wants people to see trans bodies as they are, in their diverse forms. A famous actor with many roles has revealed how an accidental audition led him into this industry and helped change society’s perception of LGBT issues!

Alexander Skarsgård to Star in Movie Adaptation of ‘The Tiger’

Alexander Skarsgård to star in the film adaptation of  ‘The Tiger.’      

A screen adaptation of John Valliant’s book ‘The Tiger’  is set to be directed by Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi.  Multi-awarded screen actor Aleksander Skarsgard will be starring alongside Dane DeHaan of ‘Oppenheimer’s fame. 

The film is set in Russia in the late ‘90s and follows a group of men known as the Tiger Team who protect endangered tigers from poachers.  Vanzin (Skarsgard), the Team’s leader, is tested when he is charged with hunting down and exterminating a tiger that killed a poacher in self-defense. 

The project is being produced by Darren Ornofsky, better known for directing cult classics such as “Pi’, ‘Requiem for a Dream, and ‘Black Swan  .’The acclaimed writer, director, and producer are thrilled to work with Slaboshpytskyi, whom he considers a brilliant auteur.

Alexander Skarsgård has recently starred in Robert Egger’s critically acclaimed movie ‘The Northman’ opposite Nicole Kidman.  The actor was first noticed in 2008 for his role in the HBO series ‘Generation Kill’ as US marine Brad Colbert and as Eric Northman in the “True Blood’ series.  His big-screen appearance in Lars von Trier’s ‘Melancholia’ earned him favorable reviews.  He then went on to star in movies such as ‘Battleship’ and ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ before landing a role as an abusive husband in the drama series ‘Big Little Lies’ which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Critic’s Choice Television Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Dane DeHaan is known for his role as Andrew Detmer in ‘Chronicle’ and Green Goblin in ‘The Amazing Spiderman.’ He also stars in the HBO drama series ‘The Staircase’ opposite Colin Firth.

Yes, you read that right! It seems a little surreal to be making a movie about how a movie was made, but if you are talking about ‘The Godfather,’ it almost seems appropriate.

The movie ‘Francis and the Godfather’ is about the birthing pains, intrigues, and joys of producing the iconic franchise.

Directed by Barry Levinson, the stellar cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal (as producer Robert Evans), Elle Fanning (Ali MacGraw), Elizabeth Moss (Eleanor Coppola), and Oscar Isaac (Francis Ford Coppola).

The legendary director gave the movie his blessing and movie fans can’t wait to see it!

About The Godfather
The Godfather’ movie is a 1972 American crime drama based on Mario Puzo’s best-selling novel of the same name. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and produced by Albert S. Ruddy, it stars Marlon Brando and Al Pacino as the leaders of a fictional New York crime family. The story chronicles the trials and tribulations of the Corleone family under the patriarch Vito Corleone (Brando) and the transformation of Michael Corleone (Pacino) from reluctant family outsider to ruthless Mafia boss.

Casting News: Robert Pattinson to Star in ‘Mickey 7’

Robert Pattinson to star in Bong Joon Ho’s Next Sci-fi Thriller ‘Mickey7’

The next film from Bong Joon Ho will be an adaptation of the upcoming sci-fi novel, ‘Mickey 7.’ This book was written by Edward Ashton and is due out in May 2019—perfect timing considering his recent success with ‘Parasite.’ 
 
Edward Ashton’s ‘Mickey7’ is set in a future where humanity has solved all of its problems, there is little for them to do. This society lives in utopia on Midgard and spends their time establishing colonies towards the galaxy’s distant edges while gadgets have been taken over by robots or become obsolete due to lack-of use since they were never created with this world view as an end goal but rather just something useful still waiting around until someone found it again. 

Deadline also announced that Robert Pattinson is negotiating with Warner Bros. to star in the film. No other cast or crew has been announced for ‘Mickey7’ at this time. It is unknown when production will begin or when the film will be released.

Bong Joon Ho is a South Korean filmmaker and screenwriter. Bong first gained international acclaim for his 2000 film ‘Barking Dogs Never Bite’ and has since directed the critically acclaimed films Memories of Murder,’ ‘The Host,’ ‘Snowpiercer,’ and ‘Okja.’ His film ‘Parasite’ won the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, making him the first Korean director to win the prestigious award.

Pattinson is no stranger to science fiction, having played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter series and later starring in ‘The Twilight Saga’ films. He has also starred in smaller budgeted fare such as ‘Cosmopolis,’ ‘Maps to the Stars,’ and ‘Good Time.’ His other projects include ‘High Life,’ ‘The Lighthouse,’ and ‘The King. ’

“The #1 music brand for kids in Canada is searching for new talent. Selected hopefuls will represent the brand in commercials, music videos, album recording(s), live touring shows/appearances, and so much more! 

  • We are looking for boys and girls (ages 9-13), of all ethnicities, who can sing and dance

How to Be a Good Singer Tips

Singing is a skill that anyone can learn. However, becoming a good singer takes time, practice, and dedication. The following tips will help you become a good singer:

  1. Find your vocal range. Knowing your vocal range is essential for choosing the right songs to sing and avoiding strain on your voice. To find your vocal range, you can take a singing test or have a vocal coach assess your range.

  4. Use proper posture when singing. Good posture helps you project your voice more effectively and prevents strain on your vocal cords. Stand up straight with your shoulders back and your chest open.
  5. Enunciate your words when singing. It means that you should pronounce each word clearly and precisely. It will help ensure that your lyrics are understandable and that your voice sounds clear and pleasant.
  6. Experiment with different techniques. There are many other techniques that singers use to improve their sound. Some standard methods include vibrato, falsetto, and belting. Experiment with different strategies to find the ones that work best for you.

  1. Do your research

Before you even step into the audition room, it’s essential to research the company or brand you’re auditioning for. What are their values? What is their target audience? What kind of tone are they going for? The more you know about the company, the better equipped you’ll be to give them what they’re looking for.

Like, will I ever get to be a bountiful Kashi or some sort of oatmeal, or am I going to be Fruit Loops forever?’ And then you start to doubt yourself. ‘Maybe I can’t? Maybe there’s a reason that no one [is giving me these opportunities]?’ Now, so much is self-generated, which is great since I wasn’t going to get the jobs I’m really interested in because the industry isn’t secure enough to say, ‘Yeah, let’s try it.’ They go for the actors they know can play the fancy dramatic roles. But there are still certain directors I’d love to work with, ones who have their pick of who they like, and sometimes I want to go, ‘I’d love to be part of that club.’”
