LeBron James is on fire! After defeating the Brooklyn Nets last night in the opening game of the second round of the NBA semifinals, James tweeted that he has join the cast of the new movie Trainwreck.
Trainwreck is Universal comedy that Judd Apatow will direct and will feature Method Man (Cliff Smith), Amy Schumer. James joins her, Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, John Cena and Mike Birbiglia.
Amy Schumer wrote the script for this production but, details surrounding the movie are being kept under wraps.
This is LeBron James second feature film that he has lined up. The first production, Ballers, features Kevin Hart and highlights the early years of LeBron James and his high school teammates. Ballers is produced by Terence and Winter, along side James’ manager, Maverick Carter.
But, will LeBron James‘ film career end up being a Trainwreck? Not many basketball players have ended up with a successful film career besides Michael Jordan (Space Jam) and Ray Allen (I Got Game). Shaquille O’Neal is still teased about his work in the movie Kazaam.

The ‘Flintstones’ is coming back to a theater near you.
Warner Bros. is bringing “The Flintstones” back as an animated featured, according to Deadline.
The project is currently in development and details surrounding the production have not been released. However, Chris Henchy from Will Ferrell production company, Gary Sanchez Productions, is currently working on the script.
The ‘Flintstones’ features America’s favorite caveman family. The cartoon series made it’s first appearance on the big screen in 1994 with a live action version starring John Goodman. The movie would later do a sequel with “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas,” in 2000.
This is the first of what is expected of many reboots for Warner Bros. TheWrap reports that executives are considering a “Scooby-Doo” and “Looney Tunes” remake.

Rebel Wilson is returning to the big screen in the reboot of the 1980’s comedy, “Private Benjamin”.
Rebel Wilson is pretty busy, between working on Pitch Perfect 2 and now “Private Benjamin” she is setting herself up to becoming one of the biggest female comedians in Hollywood.
According to TheWrap, Mark Gordon is producing a reboot of the Goldie Hawn’s comedy. In the movie Wilson will portray a redneck who decides to join the Marines and a rich girl who gets more than they expected when they join the Navy to escape their current life problems.
The original “Private Benjamin” grossed nearly $70 million at the domestic box office back in 1980, and its success spawned a short-lived TV series.
This New Line Cinema movie is currently seeking a director for the reboot.
Mark Gordon is producing the movie, which would seem to be a natural fit for Wilson’s comedic sensibility. New Line is currently seeking a director for the modern day update.
Rebel Wilson, is currently featured on the ABC sitcom “Super Fun Night,” “Pitch Perfect 2” and she is set up for a role in “Night at the Museum 3”.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate is teaming with Saban Brands to bring the Power Rangers back to the big screen for a potential new television franchise.
The first Power Rangers movie made $66 million dollars in the box office with a 15 million dollar budget. But, the 1997’s Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie did horribly in the box office. So, this may be a bigger challenge to becoming a hit than it might look. But, with the recent success of Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it might be possible.
The new film will cast a new group of high school kids who mix their studies and social lives with the mission to save the world.
Even though the plot seems very unoriginal, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 definitely showed that it is possible to create a 400 million dollar blockbuster on very predictable story lines.

“Last Train to Memphis” is holding online auditions for lead roles in the 20th Century Fox biopic.
The feature film “Last Train to Memphis” is holding an online auditions for the lead role of a young Elvis Presley.
The movie’s producers are seeking to fill the lead role with an actor who is around 18 years old to play the ages of 16 to 24 years old.
The legendary rock star Mick Jagger and Victoria Pearman have teamed up to produce this new movie. Variety reports that the Oscar winner Kevin MacDonald from One Day in September will direct the Elvis Presley biopic and it will center on the legendary singer’s rise to stardom during his early years in high school.
The movie is based on the award-winning, best seller by Guralnic, “Last Train to Memphis”. Actors that are interested in auditioning for the lead role have until May 16th to submit. Filming is set to begin later this fall.
“Last Train to Memphis” focuses on the years between Elvis’s first, earth-shattering recordings and his meteoric rise to national prominence in 1956. These were years of revolutionary cultural turmoil, largely precipitated by Elvis’s music. The screenplay recounts the story of his against-all-odds success due to his uncanny gift for self-invention, his unstoppable drive, and the new sound he created that changed the music world forever.
Those wishing to apply for the role will need to create a video audition. The video will have 3 parts, a monologue that you can download, a “slate” which is basically and intro and you will also have to sing an Elvis Presley song that was written before 1955.
Pilot season is coming to an end and producers are now picking up shows to head into production.

#1 FOX’s ‘EMPIRE’
You may remember several casting calls in Chicago that we posted for the television series written by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. Empire is described as a family drama set in the world of a hip hop empire. The television series centers on Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard, a charismatic music superstar about to take his company public. He is raised on the streets and has never backed away from a fight and will do anything to defend his Empire.

#2 NBC ‘State of Affairs’
The new television series starring, Katherine Heigl centers on a the POTUS Daily Briefing. Each day the president is faced with hundreds of life-and-death decisions, and in order to prioritize the biggest international crises facing the country, one top CIA analyst, Charleston Tucker played by Heigl) assembles the daily briefing. Along with saving the world, she has a close relationships with the relationship, Alfre Woodard.
Expect more drama than NBC’s Scandal can handle!
#3 NBC ‘Marry Me’
The new television series is a modern take on ‘Mad About You’ the 1990’s comedy/drama. Here’s what Deadline says about the show:
Six years ago, Annie (Wilson) and Jake (Ken Marino) bonded over their mutual love of nachos and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, after returning from a romantic two-week island vacation, Jake’s all set to pop the question. Before he can ask, though, Annie lets loose on Jake for his inability to commit. Not wanting to spend the next 60 years talking about that mess of a proposal, Jake and Annie decide to hold off on the engagement until they can do it right.
It looks like a great romantic comedy for the NBC line-up
#4 FOX ‘Gotham’
Batman prequel “Gotham” is now a television series after being picked up by FOX. The television pilot was recently picked up by FOX television studios and production for the new television series is set to begin as soon as possible.
The television series is based on the characters of the DC Universe, and will center on the origin story of the great DC Comics supervillains and vigilantes. But, focusing primarily through the Comissioner James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie, as a rookie detective in Gotham City.
#5 NBC ‘Odyssey’
One of the biggest pilots for the NBC network is Odyssesy and it all goes well, it looks like it will be a hit.
The new television series will follow three strangers whose lives end up tangled together in a mixture between the movie Crash and The Lone Survivor.
“After a team of American soldiers battling Jihadists in North Africa kill Al Qaeda’s top man. Sgt. Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel) — a soldier, mother, wife and the unit’s only female member — discovers computer files that suggest a major U.S. corporation is funding the Jihadists. Before she can tell anyone, her team is attacked by U.S. Special Forces and left for dead, with Odelle as the sole survivor. In New York, former U.S. Attorney Peter Drucker (Peter Facinelli) is working on a merger deal for the same company that was funneling money to the Jihadists. Meanwhile, Harrison Wolcott (Jake Robinson), a political activist and trust fund kid, meets a hacker who claims to have unearthed a massive military-industrial conspiracy. (Deadline)”

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the hit NBC television series ‘Friends’.

CBS ‘Under the Dome’ is seeking to cast a female actress for a featured role and a photo shoot in the television series.
CBS Under the Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome.
Casting directors are looking for a Caucasian female in her 50’s that is a petite and can portray a wealthy, class,y and in good shape. The talent will work as a mother in the television series.

Casting directors and producers for ‘Walk in the Woods’ starring Robert Redford and Nicke Nolte are casting hikers in Atlanta.
“Walk In the Woods” centers on Bill Bryson who, after spending twenty years in England, travels back to the United States to connect with his homeland by hiking the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends. This comedy will be directed by Larry Charles, the director of “Bruno” and “Borat” and a writer of “Seinfeld”.
