Woman Gets Divorce After Husband Doesn’t Like Disney Frozen Movie

The Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature and Song has been one of the most loved and lucrative Disney movies ever made, Disney’s Frozen can now add that they have caused a divorce.

According to the Japanese website, The Gravesite of Married People, a 29-year old woman is now seeking divorce because her husband did not like Frozen.

After telling her ‘I didn’t really care for it personally,’ he apparently left their six-year marriage in tatters by asking his wife: ‘Did you really think it was that good?’

She furiously responded: ‘If you can’t understand what makes this movie great, there’s something wrong with you as a human being!’ before telling him she wanted a divorce. (Via Metro)

Divorce seems a little bit extreme. But, maybe he never wanted to build a snowman.

Rihanna New Perfume Poster Considered Too Sexy

A watchdog group in the U.K has announced that new Rihanna poster is too sexy for children.

The Advertising Standards Authority, claims a poster advertisement featuring Rihanna should be restricted to places where it cannot be seen by children, because it is too sexual.

The ASA is “the UK’s independent regulator of advertising across all media,” including marketing online, said the photo was too “sexually suggestive.”

The poster seen below is an advertisement for her new perfume Rogue. Parlux Fragrances, the company behind the poster says the poster has no nudity and does not offer anything offensive, suggestive or demeaning.

The ASA accepted Rihanna was mainly covered and had a facial expression “of defiance rather than vulnerability”. But it also said: “While we did not consider the image to be overtly sexual, we considered that Rihanna’s pose, with her legs raised in the air, was provocative.

“Because of this, and the fact that Rihanna appeared to be naked except for high heels, we concluded that the ad was sexually suggestive and should have been given a placement restriction to reduce the possibility of it being seen by children.”

According to Daily Mail, Parlux Fragrances believes that Rihanna’s provocative style is what the company was trying to capture in the poster and it does not meet the criteria for placement restriction.

Parlux Fragrances said they had received no other complaints, adding that Rihanna was known for her provocative songs and persona, which the advert sought to capture. The company said it had done so without featuring improper nudity or offensive or suggestive imagery, adding that the majority of women would not consider the photo of Rihanna demeaning.

Rather, they claim, Rihanna is depicted as being in a position of power, as indicated by the name Rogue, which the company claims suggests ‘one with the courage to challenge boundaries’.

At the end of the day, this works in the benefit of Rihanna as she is able to capture free publicity for her new perfume.

HBO ‘Game of Thrones’ just may have gotten longer

George R.R. Martin’s editor Anne Groell mentioned in an interview that while A Song of Ice and Fire, the series Game of Thrones  is based on, has long been planned and under contract as a seven book series, there might be enough material for a total of eight books.

More books means more Game of Thrones episodes!

I begin to wonder — though 7 is what we currently have under contract. I remember when he called me, years and years back, to confess that his little trilogy was … well … no longer a trilogy. He predicted four books. I said Seven Books for Seven Kingdoms. Then he said five books. I said Seven Books for Seven Kingdoms. Then he went to six. I said … Well, you get it. Finally, we were on the same page. Seven Books for Seven Kingdoms. Good. Only, as I recently learned while editing THE WORLD OF ICE AND FIRE (another awesome thing you must buy when it comes out!), there are really technically eight kingdoms, all having to do with who has annexed what when Aegon the Conqueror landed in Westeros. So, maybe eight books for Seven Kingdoms would be okay. Also, he has promised me that, when he finally wraps this great beast us, I can publish the five page letter outlining the bare bones of the “trilogy.” [Variety]

Hopefully, the next book will be entertaining. I would hope it is not just another excuse to make a few extra dollars off of die hard fans.

Justin Bieber Uses N-Word and KKK Joke in New Video

Everything was really funny when Justin Bieber was telling jokes earlier this week, until he said the N-word. A clip of Bieber saying the N-word was recently released by The Sun.

The clip highlights Bieber singing theses lyrics…”One Less Lonely Girl to One Less Lonely N*****.

Immediately after using the word nigger, Bieber jokes about joining the Klu Klux Klan.

The New York Daily News points out that it’s unclear when the video was filmed, but it seems to be after Bieber was signed by Scooter Braun — though still a young star on the rise.

“Unfortunately this is the devastating reality of how Justin has behaved and reveals his attitude toward such a deeply emotive subject,” a source told the Sun.

“People need to see this. Normal kids in society do not make these kind of jokes. He is protected by a network of staff, but the camera doesn’t lie. This is the real Justin.”

What is more shocking is that the video was taking during the time Justin Bieber was being mentored by Usher. According to TMZ, Justin Bieber “knew almost immediately it was a stupid thing to do. Usher took him into a room and shoed him historically racist videos to drive home how hurtful thsee words can be used.

“Bieber and his team say various people have tried to extort him over the last few years — demanding money for both this video and the one he made when he was 15.  Justin says he will not be shaken down anymore. He says he wants people to see the video and he wants to accept responsibility.”

Justin Bieber recently apologized for his previous video:

“As a kid, I didn’t understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt. I thought it was ok to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance. Thanks to friends and family I learned from my mistakes and grew up and apologized for those wrongs. Now that these mistakes from the past have become public I need to apologize again to all those I have offended. I’m very sorry. I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows my responsibility to the world and not to make that mistake again. I thought long and hard about what i wanted to say but telling the truth it always what’s right. Five years ago I made a reckless and immature mistake and I’m grateful to those close to me who helped me learn those lessons as a young man. Once again…. I’m sorry.”

TMZ reported that someone approached Justin’s reps two months ago with the video, demanding $1 million or it would be leaked to the press. Justin Bieber’s reps didn’t accept the offer, the price was dropped to $800,000. Then one week ago, they were approached yet again with the video, this time with a $500,000 offer and Justin’s reps still said no.  “Bieber’s people wouldn’t make the deal because they didn’t think the tape was that harmful … especially because Bieber was 15 years old when he told the racist joke,” said TMZ.

LeVar Burton Releases New Reading Rainbow Theme Song

The wildly successful Kickstarter campaign for ‘Reading Rainbow’ may not have been the best idea for LeVar Burton.

With Reading Rainbow having enough money to buy several islands, and enough cash to reBoot, LeVar Burton went to Funny or Die for help producing the beloved show’s new theme song.

That may have been a huge mistake. While the new song starts off the same, things start to get dark really quick and soon you see a disturbing preview of LeVar Burton‘s true intentions, to take over the world of books. That poor butterfly had no chance.

LeVar Burton recently launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to bring Reading Rainbow to every child, everywhere through the expansion of the Reading Rainbow tablet app that he and RRRKidz developed following the show’s cancellation 5 years ago. The original goal was to raise $1 million dollars, but, with 28 days still remaining for the campaign, it has already raised nearly $3.5 million.

‘Insurgent’ Movie Casting Call for New Extra Roles in Atlanta

The Divergent sequel, ‘Insurgent’ posted a casting call seeking extras in Atlanta, Georgia.

‘Insurgent’ centers on Beatrice Prior as she must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart.

‘Insurgent’ features  Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Miles Teller. The upcoming ‘Divergent’ sequel will be directed by Robert Schwentke

The upcoming production has been code-named “Mineral” in order to protect the production of the feature film.

Insurgent will hit theaters on March 20, 2015. The release date for Allegiant is March 18, 2016.

The D.U.F.F is based on Kody Keplinger’scoming-of-age novel “The DUFF” (which stands for Designated Ugly Fat Friend).

“The DUFF” centers on Bianca, a high school senior whose life is turned upside down when she finds out she’s been labeled her social group’s DUFF (designated ugly fat friend), a sidekick to her prettier, more popular friends. She becomes determined to reinvent herself, enlisting her fellow DUFFs in a scheme to overthrow Madison, the school’s evil queen.

Actor Breaks Character, Fights Audience Member, Later Fired

Play cancelled after actor breaks character to fight an audience member

The Los Angeles revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was a major hit. When I say hit, I mean the fight between the lead actor and a member in the audience.

A drunk man in the audience would not stop heckling the actors on the stage. According to the witnesses, the man taunted whenever the Maggie character was onstage and yelled insults at other actors, who continued to act despite the insults. Until things turned very homophobic when Brick, an oppressed gay character portrayed by Anton Troy, rejected Maggie in a Scene.

“Because he’s a fag,” the drunken heckler yelled out in the middle of the scene. That is when Lacy-playing Big Daddy-snapped and broke character.

Lacy explained, “Brick tried to respond, and he said it again. I just said, ‘What did you say, motherf*cker?’ … I went through our fake stage door, took off my vest, went into the audience — as he stood proudly to stare at me with a stupid grin on his face — [and] I pushed him, and he was drunk, so he easily just collapsed… I knew better than to start throwing punches. I had made my point. I silenced the heckler, and thankfully, one of the audience members — this enormous 6’5”, 280-lb. filmmaker named Tim Sullivan, who happened to be gay and was not at all happy with what was happening — reached over and picked this guy up by his shirt collar and literally carried him out of the theatre.”

Although the actors continued on with the show, Lacy was fired and Troy quit the show. With both of the lead actors gone, the production for ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof‘ was shut down early.

Moral of the story, don’t break character, you may just lose your job.

Uber Driver Arrested for Kidnapping and Sexual Assault

Uber Driver arrested for allegedly kidnapping a drunk woman.

Are you thinking of using Uber to get to your next audition, production meeting, or just to set? Well you may want to reconsider the ride-share service.

According to a recent report, a 26 year old victim was drinking Sunday night and “had likely called the Uber ride-share service” for a ride home. She evidently passed out so the driver “took advantage of the situation, and drove her to a cheap motel.”

Officers went to the Panorama Motel after the woman pointed it out. Police said the suspect was the only white male tenant to have checked in. Encino resident Frederick Dencer, 32, was still in the room the woman had come from. Police said Dencer gave conflicting information during an interview with him.

Surveillance video showed Dencer carrying the woman into the room, contrary to his descriptions of the night’s events, police said.

Police believe the woman’s last stop Sunday night was at the Greystone Manor nightclub in West Hollywood. Police believe Dencer, an Uber driver, was hanging out at the club after another fare and may have been solicited by a nightclub worker to take the drunk victim home, according to the LAPD.

The police state that “no sexual assualt” occurred but, there was some fondling through her clothes.

When the victim expressed that she wanted to leave the motel after waking up, he did not stop her.

This is Uber’s first major incident since the company created “Safe Rides Fee,” Sam Biddle asked “since when do we have to pay extra to not get raped?”.

In an article by The Daily Beast’s Olivia Nuzzi, she detailed an encounter with a driver who photographed her jogging.

Uber didn’t take any responsibility, saying “The facts are unknown at this stage and it’s certainly unclear that this is an Uber-related incident, and the driver in question was not logged in, connected to or operating on the platform at the time. We have reached out to authorities and will work with them to help uncover the facts.”

The driver was charged with “kidnap for purpose of sexual assualt” and is being held on $1 million bail.

Maybe the moral of the story is to trust a friend not an app to get you home safely after drinking. Or taking you anywhere for that matter.

‘Metal Gear Solid’ Movie is in Development and Coming Soon

Metal Gear Solid movie is coming soon.

Sony is currently in development for the upcoming ‘Metal Gear Solid’ movie. According to , Sony is in talks with Jordan Vogt-Roberts to direct the film. Vogt-Roberts previously directed The Kings of Summer. 

The Metal Gear Solid movie has been in development for quite a while. The problem started when it took a long time for the game creators and studios to find themselves to agree on how to tell the story of the protagonist Solid Snake.

Metal Gear Solid was created by Hideo Kojima, and the game has been around since 1998. Metal Gear Solid centers on Snake a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist thereat from a renegade special forces unit. Snake must liberate two hostages, one of them the president of a major arms manufacturer and confront the terrorists, while trying to stop a nuclear launch.

There are several video games turned movies coming soon. Including Assassin’s Creed and Tom Hardy’s ‘Splinter Cell‘. But, not all video games turned movies make it out of development. Producers were interested in a Halo production and a Bioshock movie but both productions went way over budget.

Robert Downey Jr. and Showtime in Development for a Drug Rehab Drama

Showtime is developing a 1980’s Rehab drama alongside Robert Downey Jr.

Showtime is currently in development for a new drama from the writer Gary Lennon (Orange is the New Black, Justified). Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey’s Team have also joined together with Sony Pictures TV.

The untitled drama is set in 1983 and follows a rehab/therapeutic community in Venice Beach where drugs and alcohol have always been part of the culture.

It is likely that this television series will be based on Robert Downey Jr‘s experience in rehab. From 1996 through 2001, Downey was arrested numerous times on drug-related charges including cocaine, heroin and marijuana and went through several drug treatment programs unsuccessfully. In 1999 he explaiend to a judge, “It’s like I’ve got a shotgun in my mouth with my finger on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gun metal.” He explained his relapses by claiming that he was addicted to drugs since the age of eight, and due to the fact that his father, also an addict, had been giving them to him. 

Robert Downey Jr‘s experiences will most likely provide a realistic portrayal of drug rehabilitation and the culture behind being a drug addict in California.

‘Very Good Girls’ is directed by Naomi Foner and features Ellen Barkin, Clark GRegg, Peter Sargaard, Richard Dreyfuss and Demi Moore.

The upcoming feature film will hit theaters on July 25.

STUDY: 2014 Hollywood Diversity Report Results are Shocking but Not Surprising

UCLA’s Ralph Bunche Center for African American Studies has released its 2014 Hollywood Diversity Report and the results are not that surprising.

The report analyzes 172 films that came out in 2011, as well as 1061 television shows that aired between 2011 and 2012 for the race and gender breakdowns of lead talent, overall cast, show creators, directors, and writers.

Minorities and women were underrepresented in each category. For instance, Lead Talent, minorities in film are underrepresented by a factor of 3 to 1 while women are underrepresented by a factor of 2 to 1. For comedies, the number increases to 7 to 1 for minorities.

However, the study analyzes data from three years ago and shows such as ‘Scandal’ starring Kerry Washington and Shonda Rhimes have changed the landscape for many people in Hollywood. With the release of ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ Asians will be featured in a leading cast in the first time in years. Even ABC has created diversity programs for aspiring writers, directors, and actors. There may be a diversity gap but at least Hollywood executives are acknowledging it.

‘Pitch Perfect 2’ posted a casting call seeking extras for scenes filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Caballero casting is currently lookign for extras who are 18 and up to work on scenes on ‘Pitch Perfect 2‘ for several days on the movie. Casting directors are looking for people available for dates starting Monday, June 16th through Friday, June 20th. The scenes will be outdoor scenes filled with lots of good music and suprises. The sequel to the movie centers on Fat Amy and Beca as they move to college. The upcoming movie is directed by Elizabeth Banks from 40 Year Old Virgin and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Netflix ‘House of Cards’ Open Casting Call for Extras and Speaking Roles in Maryland

The Netflix Original Series ‘House of Cards’ posted a casting call for the third season.

The third season of ‘House of Cards‘ is already in development but shooting was delayed after a tax-credit back-and-forth with the Maryland state government.

According to WBAL, the critically acclaimed, Netflix series ‘House of Cards‘ has returned to Maryland to film their third season.

Now, casting directors are looking for people to appear in the television series. That means they are looking for people of all ages, types, sizes, and ethnicity’s for extra and day player roles in the Netflix series.

Several weeks ago there was an open casting call for several speaking roles including the role of the NSA director. Casting directors are seeking to cast other additional roles in the television series.

Kimberly Skyrme Casting will be holding and open casting call for Union and Non-Union extras and day players on Saturday, June 7th from 10AM – 2PM at: THE BEL AIR ARMORY 41 NORTH MAIN STREET BEL AIR, MARYLAND 21014

According to the announcement, casting agents would also like to see a photograph of hopefuls in their D.C. black-tie attire.

Details surrounding the production and plot of ‘House of Cards‘ have not been released. But, the second season of House of Cards was a much darker version of the first.

The most significant new character is Jackie Sharp, Frank’s successor as House Whip, who soon finds herself embroiled in Frank’s plans. As the war between Frank and Tusk consumes the Presidency, things fall apart in a scandal that sees Walker resign, Tusk arrested, and Frank ascend to the Oval Office.

It is reported that ‘House of Cards‘ Season 3 will be the final season for the Netflix Original series. If that is true, it will be hard for many people to let go of such a popular TV series.

BBC TWO’s ‘Wolf Hall’ Casting Call for extras in the UK.

Mad Dog Casting posted a casting call seeking extras for a scene filming in Yeovil in Somerset, England.

Casting directors are looking for male talents that are between 5’6 to 6’1.

Wolf Hall is a British television series that will first broadcast on BBC Two in 2015. It is a six-part adaptation of two of Hilary Mantel‘s novels, Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies.
