Jimmy Kimmel Wanted to ABC Cancel ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The first year of Jimmy Kimmel Live! was not all peaches and cream.

Jimmy Kimmel revealed during SXSW that he wanted ABC to cancel the show. “I was burnt out, exhausted, terrified,” he said, explaining that on some days, he would be without a guest just hours before he was supposed to go live. “I wanted them to cancel it, so I didn’t have to quit.”

13 years later, Jimmy Kimmel was able to find his niche. Speaking to a large crowd at the annual festival, Jimmy Kimmel explained where the comedian first started.

“There was almost nothing planned for my first show,” he remembered, noting that he was going to just sit down and “hold up newspaper articles and bullshit my way through my show.”

It is interesting to point that Jimmy Kimmel never dreamed of becoming a talk show host. “My goal was never to host a late night talk show,” he said. “My goal was just to keep watching a late-night talk show. It never occurred to me that anyone other than David Letterman or Johnny Carson would have a late night talk show.”

Over the past five years Jimmy Kimmel has become a hit. His viral videos, and Mean Tweets segment, Kimmel has found a unique way to entertain audiences. His latest Mean Tweets video has 20 million views on YouTube and the talk show hosts credits his wife and co-head writer for coming up with the idea.

CBS ‘Rush Hour’ TV Pilot Casts Chris Tucker’s Replacement

CBS has found Chris Tucker’s replacement for the upcoming ‘Rush Hour’ TV series.

According to reports, producers have hired Justin Hires to play Chris Tucker’s role in the CBS’ drama pilot ‘Rush Hour’.

Justin Hires had a very small role in Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s comedy, ’21 Jump Street’. Since then, he has had small appearances on Comedy Central’s ‘Key and Peele’. In the Warner Bros. TV pilot he’ll play a cocky LAPD detective who is assigned to work on a case with a strict detective from Hong Kong. Jon Foo has already been cast in the role played by Jackie Chan opposite comedian Chris Tucker in three “Rush Hour” movies.

Justin Hires has got his start out of college as an on-air personality for MTVU. He’s also produced several sketch comedy videos for various YouTube.

Kevin Smith: ‘Mallrats 2’ is Coming Soon

Kevin Smith says ‘Mallrats 2’ is on the way.

After announcing that he will shoot the third and final film in the “Clerks” trilogy this May, Kevin Smith announced that he is also working on “Mallrats 2″.

“We shoot CLERKS III in May. HIT SOMEBODY shoots September to Christmas. Then in Feb 2016, we do MOOSE JAWS. But after that? I smell a rat…” he tweeted on Thursday.

“It’s half scripted right now and we’re pulling our loot together,” he told Tucson’s Rock 102 KFMA on Friday. “We’ve got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we’re going to be shooting.”

“Mallrats” finished filming 20 years ago this month and the movie featured Kevin Smith, Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty and Jeremy London. Like many of Kevin Smith’s movies, “Mallrats” flopped at the box office, but has developed a cult following over time.

“It kind of came out of nowhere,” Smith told the radio station about the “Mallrats” sequel. “Lately I’ve been doing this thing where I’m like ‘Do you want to do what’s good for your career or do you just want to have fun?’ Nobody’s clamoring for a ‘Mall Rats’ sequel, but I would love to make one. It’s been like 20 years.”

‘Clerks 3’ will be shooting in Philadelphia this spring.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sheep placenta facials are the latest rage in Hollywood with Victoria Beckham and Harry Styles signing up for the $500 spa treatment.

But, how does it work?

“Sheep’s placenta stem cells mirror human stem cells. It is a protein base that is close to our own cellular make-up so the body is able to absorb and recognizes it as its own,” she explains. As a result, the proteins go to work at an intracellular level, not just on the surface. “For the same reason, there is no chemically negative skin reaction to the product. It’s actually pretty close to the most perfect treatment.”

Eddie Murphy Joins Cast of Upcoming Richard Pryor Biopic

Eddie Murphy is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming Richard Pryor Biopic.

According to reports, Eddie Murphy will team up with Lee Daniels’ untitled Richard Pryor biopic. He will play the late comedian’s father, LeRoy “Buck Carter” Pryor, a boxer and World War II veteran.

Mike Epps is also attached to star as Richard Pryor in the upcoming feature film.

“Harvey (Weinstein) would like it to be released for the Oscars. Because, you know, Harvey is good at that sh-t,” said Pryor’s wife and producer of the film, Jennifer, in a recent podcast.

Daniels hinted Eddie Murphy was going to join the cast earlier this week on Instagram by posting this:

Eddie Murphy revealed in an interview that he grew up watching and idolizing Richard Pryor. “Richard’s the one that made me want to do comedy,” he has previously said. “When I was little I used to sneak into my basement and put his albums on.”

Kate Hudson and Oprah Winfrey are also rumored for supporting roles in the Richard Pryor production.

Lee Daniels is on fire. His new TV drama “Empire”, which was renewed for a second season, is on track to become the most watched television show.

News reporter was mugged live on camera in South Africa.

According to reports, on Tuesday, SABC3 reporter Vuyo Mvoko was mugged on the streets of South Africa while cameras were rolling. Mvoko was preparing an interview, covering the arrival of Zambian President Edgar Lungu’s to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg. Instead, he and his crew were robbed at gunpoint and all of their equipment including cell phones and production laptop were tolen

Thankfully, Mvoko and his crew were unharmed. The crime has been reported to the police and the following video was released as evidence.
