Model Sues Google Over Porn Site Search Results

Argentinian model sues Google and Yahoo over Porn Site Search Results

Argentinian model and TV personality Belén Rodríguez is going to battle against Google and Yahoo over search results that link her name to a porn sites that have used her older photos without her permission.

Belén Rodríguez was previously awarded a sum of $15,000 after she filed legal action in 2006, but she is currently seeking further damages and wants her name unlinked to the porn sites.

“They have ruined my life and now say that what I’m asking for is censorship? It suits them, but not me. Truthfully for me, having to explain every day that I am not a prostitute is a daily complication.” []

In 2009 and 2010, Belén Rodríguez has appeared in television commercials for a popular Cell Phone company. Belén Rodríguez made her acting debut as the female protagonist in the Italian film Natale in Sudafrica in December 2010.

In 2011, she was a co-presenter of the annual televised Italian singing contest, the Sanremo Music Festival

None of the creators of the website content, were called to testify in the lawsuit and Google stated in a statement that “search engines are neutral platforms that do not create nor control content on the web.”

The Argentine Supreme Court will be making a decision on the case within the next several weeks.

What do you think? Do you think she should get compensated by Google? Do you think you can sue just because you don’t like what appears when people search your name? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

Watch ‘One Direction’ Members Smoke Weed in Peru [VIDEO]

One Direction band gets high in the back of a Van in Peru

Last month the members of One Direction visited Peru and while they were visiting the sites and attractions they decided to pass a joint around.

But, One Direction decided to film themselves showing the world that they are just a group of twenty year olds getting high in the back of a van.

The five minute clip, reported by the Daily Mail, was filmed on April 27 as One Direction traveled by convoy by a police escort to a 40,000-person concert in Lima, Peru.

The clip shows exactly what you would expect from a bunch of twenty-year-olds getting high.

  • Zayn and Louis on video smoking roll-up in back of SUV on way to concert in Peru in April
  • Shocking video seen by MailOnline shows them in smoke-filled car with Zayn asking ‘Are we allowed to talk contraband in this?’
  • Shows a dark side to the band adored by countless young girls and their mothers for their wholesome image
  • As cameraman Louis pans to police motorbike outrider escorting them he says: ‘That’s the po po. One-nil’
  • Later he adds: ‘He’s having a look. He’s thinking, “I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.” And he’s hit the nail on the head’
  • Louis passes Zayn the cigarette and says: ‘One very very important factor of Zayn’s warm up of course is Mary J, herself’

“I’m just wondering now, we’re sitting here in Peru. Will this come back to me? Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not,” he later ponders as an assistant gives him an update that he was able to arrange for “a full chicken” when the band arrives in Chile.

A spokesperson told reporters, “The matter is now in the hands of our lawyers.”

Creatine is Now Considered the Cause Elliot Rodger’s Mass Shooting

0

Weightlifting supplement, Creatine is now considered as the cause of Elliot Rodger’s mass shooting.

The latest theory behind what prompted UCSB shooter Elliot Rodger to lose it and kill several innocent people was his “addiction” to weight lifting supplement creatine. The Mirror UK recently interviewed, Chris Akin, who had known Elliot Rodger for years and reports that he noticed a “sinister change in him after he started to take creatine.”

He claimed he saw the “anger and changes” in the student – the son of Hollywood director Peter Rodger – during their weekly chats on Skype…

“He would also tell me how he wanted to get into the bodybuilding lifestyle and started on creatine around four months ago. I could notice the anger and changes every time we spoke on Skype.

“I believe he took it everyday. He wouldn’t answer my questions about his usage but as time went on you could totally tell the changes in his character.

Creatine is not steroids, it is not a hormone, it is not linked to testosterone, and it does not cause roid rage. It is not crystal meth nor is it a stimulant. What creatine does is essentially increase water retention allowing you to do more reps while working out in the gym. Creatine is one of the most used supplements and it is well studied and considered very safe except for minor kidney issues, if not taken properly.

According to International Business Times, Elliot Rodger was a frequent visitor and user of Bodybuilding.com and in a forum post days before the shooting he complains about being unable to find a girlfriend.

Bodybuilding

Chris Akin, states in his interview that he was bullied online causing him to “snap”.

“I believe there are more factors that contributed to him ‘snapping’, he frequented bodybuilding forums were he was endlessly harassed in private messages and on threads that he created.

“He posted a lot of messages about being alone and wanting women. But this group of people would call him ugly and make fun of him.

“On the messages I saw they would taunt him and tell him he will never get girls and he will be forever alone.”

This is not the first time the website bodybuilding.com “misc” forums were in the news. In 2008, a member of the forum committed suicide streaming live on Justin.TV while posting his suicide note in the forums. The moderators of the community even egged him on to kill himself.

Biggs, also known as CandyJunkie on the forum (bodybuilding.com) and Feels Like Ecstasy on Justin.TV, is alleged to have been a “well known troll” on the forum. He created a thread in the “misc” category yesterday afternoon detailing the amount of drugs he planned to take with the intention to kill himself. The moderators of the forum didn’t take his threats seriously “on account of his past trolling,” and other forum members continued to egg him on. At that point, Biggs posted his suicide note, which conveyed a general sense of depression and disappointment with life, not necessarily motivated by any hardship or cyber-bullying he may have received online. [Mashable]

It seems as though people are having a hard time justifying or understanding why Elliot Rodger did what he did. It may not look so simple, but it could be that he just hated women for not giving him any attention.

Edward Snowden Says He Was More Than Just a Hacker but a Spy [VIDEO]

0

Edward Snowden was more than just a hacker he was a CIA trained spy.

NBC has released portions of the Edward Snowden interview with Brian Williams and the interview centers on Snowden claiming that he was a trained spy and not a low level hacker.

“I was trained as a spy in sort of the traditional sense of the word, in that I lived and worked undercover overseas, pretending to work in a job that I’m not, and even being assigned a name that was not mine,” Snowden told Williams in the interview, set to air tomorrow evening.

In the clip Snowden lists his credentials, which include his work with the Defense Intelligence Agency and the CIA, to establish that he was more than just a “low level systems administrator.”

But, he does point out that he is more a technical agent. “I am a technical expert. I don’t work with people. I don’t recruit agents. What I do is I put systems to work for the United States.”

New California Laws Making it Harder for Aspiring Actors to Succeed?

0

New California laws making it harder for aspiring actors?

In California the average actor, model or talent has both a manager and talent agency. The personal manager attempts to create an image and 5 year plan for their client. While the talent agency helps find jobs for the client to pursue. In return, the personal manager will receive a commission. Until, the California Talent Agency Act was passed.

The California Talent Agency Act, prevents managers from finding jobs for their clients.

While many personal managers for actors do find employment for their clients. Managers are not involved in the deals. That duty is left to the agents and lawyers. However, managers do help their actors, models, and talents by finding jobs. But, due to the recent California Talent Agency Act, an actor can get out of paying the manager’s commission by accusing the manager of having procured employment for them, a violation of the Talent Agency Act. The law requires that anyone who find employment must be licensed by the state Labor Commissioner, something that managers are not.

Actors who have recently disputed their manager’s commission fees include Cher, Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney, Richard Pryor, Jennifer Lopez, Rosanne Barr, Arsenio Hall, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Sean Hayes and many others.

NCOPM

But, personal managers are not going down without a fight. The National Conference of Personal Managers is going on the PR offensive to overturn the California Talent Agency Act.

“Personal managers nationwide have forfeited an estimated $500,000,000 due to either the California Labor Commissioner voiding management contracts and ordering disgorgement of compensation or managers being forced to settle artist disputes rather than face the risks and legal costs of a TAA hearing and subsequent litigation,”

The National Conference of Personal Managers argue that due to recent legislation they are less likely to sign new talent that currently do not have agency representation. Thus, less aspiring actors have a lower chance of getting auditions in California.

“TAA controversies have resulted in financial hardship, bankruptcy and personal adversity for managers and other talent representatives nationwide. Plus, the TAA has had a chilling effect on the willingness of managers to sign younger talent who do not have agency representation.”

Hollywood

What do you think? Do you think personal managers deserve a commission? Should an actor only have a talent agent or do they need both a personal manager and a talent agent? Have you ever been scammed by a personal manager? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ is Coming Soon to Theaters

0

A Sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is coming soon.

12 years after the original was released, it has become one of the biggest independent films in movie history.

Now, My Big Fat Greek Wedding is being made into a feature film sequel. Nia Vardalos, who wrote the first production, has written the sequel and it will star John Corbett, her groom in the original romantic comedy. Also, expect the Portokalos family to return as well.

“Now that I’m experiencing motherhood, I’m ready to write the next chapter of my family story,” Vardalos said in a statement. “Of course a few jaded folks in the press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true.”

My Big Fat Greek Wedding centered around a young Greek-American woman’s trials and tribulations when she falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept her fiance while she herself comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vardalos has written the script for the project and will reprise the role of Toula Portokalos, a first-generation Greek-American woman. Corbett will play the non-Greek who fell in love with her in the original.

The plot involves the reveal of a family secret and a new wedding which brings the Greek clan back together again (the wedding is described as “bigger and fatter”).

According to Deadline, Rita Wilson will produce the production with Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Gold Circle productions will have Paul Brooks executive producing alongside Scott Niemeyer, Norm Waitt, Steven Shareshian and Nia Vardalos.

L.A Lakers and Time Warner Cable Sued in a Discrimination Law Suit

0

Los Angeles Lakers Spanish-language radio announcer has sued Time Warner Cable and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Time Warner Cable and the Los Angeles Lakers will be talking to lawyers soon due to a recent lawsuit for at least $1 million dollars, after a current employee filed a discrimination and harassment complaint.

“The Lakers have treated Plaintiff differently and less favorably than his Anglo-American counterparts in terms of wages, hours and conditions of employment,” according to the Plaintiff, Fernando Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is seeking “a money judgment representing compensatory damages including lost wages, earnings, income, and other employee benefits, and all other sums of money, together with interest on these amounts; for other special damages; and for general damages for mental pain and anguish and emotional distress.”

Gonzalez claims that he faced poor employment conditions because of his “race, national origin and age,” the 53 year-old Mexican American was an employee for the Lakers after 18 years. He cites years of discrimination. In a particular incident Gonzalez claims, executives chose younger men for a job despite having very little experience in basketball.

“Because the acts taken toward Plaintiff were carried out by managerial employees acting in a deliberate, cold, callous, cruel and intentional manner, in conscious disregard of Plaintiff’s rights and in order to injure and damage him, Plaintiff requests that punitive damages be levied against Defendants and each of them, in sums in excess of the jurisdictional minimum of this court.”

In another incident, Gonzalez claims that in 2012 the team “retaliated” against him “for complaining about discrimination” by giving him a new contract that decreased the amount of days he would work for the year, thus cutting his paycheck in half.

Time Warner Cable promised to give him more job opportunities but, the Los Angeles Lakers prevented him from pursuing these opportunities. Ultimately, the Plaintiff continued to lose employment opportunities as his new contract in 2013-2014 further decreased his paycheck. He reports that he lost income of approximately $30,000 annually.

What do you think of this lawsuit? Do you think Gonzalez really faced discrimination? Do you think this is just a normal part of the entertainment industry and Gonzalez should just move on and find a new job? Have you faced discrimination before? What would you do if you were discriminated against? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

50 Cent threw possibly one of the worst first pitches ever.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has a pretty accomplished career. He rose to fame with the release of his albums Get Rich or Die Tryin‘ (2003) and The Massacre (2005). His major-label debut Get Rich or Die Tryin‘, has been certified eight times platinum.

Throughout his music career, Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including a Grammy Award, 13 Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards. He has also pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2005, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and Righteous Kill in 2008.

But, when it comes to throwing a ball from the pitcher’s mound to home plate, Jackson struggles.

The crowd’s reaction is priceless as it looks like the entire baseball field erupt in laughter. But, hey it also may not be as bad as Carly Rae Jepsen’s disastrous attempt.

The executive producer of Starz’s upcoming drama series “Power” is set to premiere on June 7.

China Shuts Down Movie Theaters After Reports of Box Office Scams

0

China suspends movie theaters over fraudulent box office reporting.

In February, Chinese authorities started to crack down on movie theaters that manipulated box office figures. This ended in nine cinemas that were banned from screening new movies. Now, seven additional theaters join the list.

According to Deadline, there are over 18,000 cinemas in China‘s growing film industry and in order to regulate the booming industry, China is focused on shutting down illegitimate movie theaters. On Monday, the China Film Producers’ Association and the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association issued a statement saying the movie theaters had used a dual software system that allowed them to sell tickets without registering the real earnings, the Xinhua news agency reports. Last January, China‘s State authority SAPPRFT issued a memo pointing out new regulations that demanded all movie cinemas upgrade their software to a national digital ticketing platform before May 1.

You may ask why would China suspend movie theaters from fraudulent box office reporting? In China, business attempt to hide income from the government because China takes a 3% value-added tax on revenues as well as a 5% film fund tax.

The number of movie theaters in China has exploded over the last ten years. According to Beijing-based film industry research company Entgroup, there were just 3,000 movie screens in operation in China in 2007. Now there are more than 18,000.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, China is now the world’s second largest movie market and the local box office total is expected to grow to $4.6 billion this year. In February alone, their box office reached $520 million, about the same as the country’s full year total as recently as 2007.

Media CEO’s Make Millions More than CEO’s of Cars, Oil, and Banks

0

Media CEO’s make more money than CEO’s of any other industry.

The six of the country’s 10 highest paid CEO’s come from media CBS’ Les Moonves (No. 2, $65.6M), Viacom’s Philippe Dauman(No. 5, $37.2M), Disney’s Bob Iger (No. 7, $34.3M), Discovery’s David Zaslav (No. 8, $33.3M), Time Warner’s Jeff Bewkes (No. 9, $32.5M), and Comcast’s Brian Roberts (No. 10, $31.4M).

What is interesting is to see how much CEO’s make in comparison to other CEO’s in bigger industries. You would assume that big corporations that have a larger impact on the economy and people in general would make more money. However, that is not the case. For example, ExxonMobil‘s CEO, Rob Tillerson made only 28.1 million dollars last year. That is almost half as much as CBS‘ Chief Executive Officer, Les moonves. Ford Motor’s Alan Mulally was ranked No. 18 with $23.2 million.

But, the highest paid CEO was Anthony Petrello of oil and gas drilling company Nabors Industries with $68.2 million.

Deadline points out how Media Giants like CBS, and Viacom are able to pay their CEO’s so much money:

Boards usually justify their high outlays by pointing to metrics of company success, which they credit to the CEOs. But while those on this list are smart and shrewd, it’s worth asking how much of their good fortune — including their rising stock prices — also represents good luck. Keep in mind that all of the media powers represented by this year’s top 11 own broadcast and/or pay TV channels. Cable and satellite companies complain that these programmers have oligopoly power to raise prices on distributors. Many are aggressively doing so, which distributors say pressures them to raise your rates. Programmers also benefit from a new source of cash: license fees from digital services including Netflix and Amazon Prime.

With Netflix and Amazon Prime license fees and the ability to raise prices on distributors, media companies have the ability to increase their profits easily and in turn pay their CEO’s more money.

Next time you are considering a job in the film and TV industry, try looking into the executive board of a media company. They are getting paid.

Netflix Lands Exclusive Deal for Sony’s Animated Movies

0

Netflix lands a deal with Sony for their animated movies.

Netflix is continuing to grow their library of TV shows and kids’ movies. According to TheWrap, Netflix, has acquired the rights to Sony Pictures Animation movies under a new multiyear agreement. This agreement increases the number of kids programs and allows for Netflix to become a stronger contender in the kids programming market. In the United States Netflix users can watch “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2” and “The Smurfs 2,”.

The Starz Network controls the rights to Sony‘s live-action movies until 2021. Netflix previously had a deal with Starz but in 2012, the two media giants went their separate ways.

According to Business Insider, The deal went south after Starz Network wanted to charge Netflix $300 million per year for their content. But, the network did not want to sell their programming at a discount. Instead, their strategy was “to protect the premium nature of our brand by preserving the appropriate pricing and packaging of our exclusive and highly valuable content.” Or, Starz Network wanted Netflix users to pay more. This would force Netflix to increase their subscription fees and create a premium package for the Starz Network. Needless to say, the deal did not go through.

Over the last couple of years, Netflix has worked hard on trying to build a library of productions for children. The company has recently landed deals with DreamWorks Animation, Pixar and Disney.

Despite the big deal between Sony and Netflix, Sony will not release a new animated movie in 2014. However, Sony is expected to release “Hotel Transylvania 2” next year and two new animated movies in 2016.

Should be able to improv and be very comfortable/relaxed on camera. Will have to be able to do a basic stunt being pulled into a padded mat via a body harness.

Yoga Women – NON-SPEAKING. 25-40 years old, any ethnicity. Model-like body type. Must be experienced in yoga and able to hold basic to medium poses for long periods of time with perfect form. 3-6 women total. Will be wearing 70s style yoga clothes. Basically an intentionally funny scene, over-the-top on the “sexy yoga” side of things.

Mustache contest Men – NON-SPEAKING- 3 males. 25-60. Caucasian/Hispanic. Strong Irish, German or Italian looks could be interesting. Unique looks encouraged. Open to all body types. No mustache required. Beard is a plus for up to 2 of the cast.

If interested and completely available June 5th and 6th, please email a recent picture/headshot and resume to [email protected]. Please put the character name in the subject line of who you are interested in auditioning for. Also include your name, age, phone number, height, weight and location in the body of the email.

PLEASE SPECIFY IF YOU ARE REPRESENTED BY A TALENT AGENT.

We will contact you if we feel you are right for anything. We would then schedule an audition time for you tomorrow at our office between 12pm-4pm.

Thanks!
Katie
