According to Variety, “The story follows Sloane (Roberts) and Jackson, two perpetual singles who hate the holidays since their continual lack of a significant other subject them to the judgment of their family members or stuck with clingy, awkward dates. According to Deadline, Justin Hartley, Avan Jogia, and Ed Oxenbould are attached to star in The Exchange, a coming-of-age comedy which is being directed by Dan Mazer. Dan Mazer is a long history working with Sacha Baron Cohen. Mazer got his start as a writer/ director/producer on Cohen’s Da Ali G Show and was recently part writing/directing team for his Showtime series Who Is America?.

‘Mr. Mercedes’ Background Extra Upgraded to Speaking Role

Yet, another background extra was upgraded to a speaking role on the set of Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes.

Tona B. Dahlquist Casting, the extras casting company behind AT&T’s Mr. Mercedes Season 3, revealed on Facebook that a background actor was upgraded to a speaking role this week.

“EXCITING NEWS…..Another Mr. Mercedes Extra was upgraded to speaking role today! Congrats Taylor!”

Mr. Mercedes season 3 is now filming in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Mercedes, based on Stephen King’s 2014 book of the same name, follows a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.

This is not the first time a background actor as upgraded to a speaking role. Recently, on the set of Kevin Hart’s new movie Night School, a background actor was also upgraded to a principal speaking role. Tyler Perry also has a history of upgrading background extras to speaking roles.
