About ‘Coming 2 America: The Quest’:

As Project Casting previously reported, the upcoming sequel will be released on August 7, 2020. The studio has reportedly hired the director of “Hustle & Flow,” Craig Brewer, to direct the project with Eddie Murphy expected to return as the star of the show. Explore Georgia reports the new movie is now filming in Atlanta under the name “Coming 2 America: The Quest”.

The upcoming “Coming 2 America” feature film will feature Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall as they reprise their roles of Prince Akeem and Semmi. In the original feature film, Akeem, a prince of fictional Zumunda, Africa, came to the United States to learn how to be an American while seeking love who will love him for him and not for his wealth and money. The movie was a hit. It earned $128 million in 1988 and was the third biggest movie of the year.

Actor and Dallas native Luke Wilson will star in the film as Coach Rusty Russell, a World War I veteran with a troubled past who accepts a job as head football coach at a Texas orphanage and high school in southeast Fort Worth.

The film will center around the true story of the orphanage overlooking Fort Worth, where Coach Russell molds youngsters into unlikely athletes.

“For me, there’s nothing more important than authenticity in making a movie. Shooting in Fort Worth provides a foundation for us to build our film which allows our team to source everything as it was — from references, to historians, to the real locations — all of this is invaluable to a period movie,” said Ty Roberts, director of “12 Mighty Orphans,” in a news release.

About “Judas and the Black Messiah”:

The film titled JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH (formerly JESUS WAS MY HOMEBOY) is preparing to shoot in Cleveland this fall. Daniel Kaluuya and his Get Out co-star Lakeith Stanfield to star in Jesus Was My Homeboy, a production that tells the true story of Fred Hampton, a Black Panther revolutionary, and activist who was assassinated in 1969. Daniel Kaluuya will play Fred Hampton, an Illinois-born honors student who was active in the NAACP, brokered a non-aggression pact between two of Chicago’s gangs, coined the phrase “rainbow coalition,” and rose to prominence in the Black Panther Party on both the state and national level. Hampton was assassinated by the FBI and the Chicago Police Department at age 21 during a raid on his apartment. Lakeith Stanfield will play William O’Neal, a car thief who had his charges dropped by becoming an FBI informant who worked his way into the Black Panthers, eventually becoming Hampton’s bodyguard and turning over a detailed layout of Hampton’s apartment to the authorities, which ultimately contributed to Hampton’s assassination. This film is said to “look at the rise and death of Hampton through O’Neal’s perspective.”

Deadline reports Taika Waititi will write and direct a movie for Fox Searchlight Pictures. It will be an adaptation on the sports doc directed by Mike Brett and Steve Jamison. Doctor Sleep is based on the 2013 horror novel by Stephen King and is the sequel to his 1977 novel The Shining. King stated that it is a “return to balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on horror”. The book became a number one New York Times bestseller for print and ebook fiction, hardcover fiction, and ebook fiction. The novel also won the 2013 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel.

The book centers around the events after The Shining. Danny Torrance remains psychologically traumatized as his mother Wendy slowly recovers from her injuries. Ghosts from the Overlook still want to find Danny and take his “shining” power. Dick Hallorann, the Overlook’s chef teaches Danny to create lockboxes in his mind to control the ghosts including the former Overlook owner Horace Derwent. The psychological trauma causes Dan to deal with anger and alcoholism. Dan spends years of his life drifting across the country until he decides to give up drinking. As a result, he develops psychic abilities that allow him to predict when someone is about to die, giving him the nickname “Doctor Sleep”.

Explore Georgia reports the new movie is now filming in Atlanta under the name “Coming 2 America: The Quest”.

The upcoming “Coming 2 America” feature film will feature Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall as they reprise their roles of Prince Akeem and Semmi. In the original feature film, Akeem, a prince of fictional Zumunda, Africa, came to the United States to learn how to be an American while seeking love who will love him for him and not for his wealth and money. The movie was a hit. It earned $128 million in 1988 and was the third biggest movie of the year.

Chris Pratt is set to star in Sci-Fi thriller ‘Ghost Draft’ from the ‘Lego Batman’ director.

Variety reports, “Ghost Draft,” written by Zach Dean, is about a man drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past. Yvonne Strahovski will play a character Pratt meets in the future who has a connection to his past.
