Disney CEO is Arranging a Meeting with Martin Scorsese

Disney‘s CEO Bob Iger is setting up a meeting with Martin Scorsese.

Martin Scorsese’s criticism of Marvel movies has sparked a filmmaking debate. Now, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirms his team is currently in the process of setting up a meeting with the ‘Irishman’ director.

In the TIME Businessperson of the Year profile of Bob Iger, the Walt Disney Company CEO addressed Scorsese’s comments as “nasty” and claims they are “not fair to the people who are making the movies.” He adds, “If Marty Scorsese wants to be in the business of taking artistic risk, all power to him. It doesn’t mean that what we’re doing isn’t art.” The CEO continues to say Disney and Scorsese are working on “arranging a get-together.”

Before this TIME profile, Iger responded to Scorsese’s comments in an interview with BBC Radio 4. “I’d like to have a glass of wine with him. I like Martin Scorsese,” he said in early November. “Looking forward to talking with him.”

Scorsese’s original comments were in an interview with Empire Magazine where the veteran director explained he does not consider the Marvel films as real cinema. “I don’t see them. I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema,” he admitted. “Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.”

The criticism of Marvel movies prompted the filmmaker to clarify his beliefs in an op-ed for The New York Times with Scorsese explaining that he has nothing against the people behind the franchise.

“Many franchise films are made by people of considerable talent and artistry. You can see it on the screen,” he wrote. “The fact that the films themselves don’t interest me is a matter of personal taste and temperament. I know that if I were younger if I’d come of age at a later time, I might have been excited by these pictures and maybe even wanted to make one myself.”

Tom Holland‘s ‘Cherry‘ is now casting fit actors in Cleveland, Ohio.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on Friday, December 13th in Cleveland, Ohio.

Producers are seeking the following types:

Males
Ages 25-45
Any ethnicity other than Caucasian
Athletic build (playing Army soldiers)

About “Cherry”:

From the directors of “Avengers: Endgame”, Anthony and Joe Russo are now filming their new movie “Cherry”. The movie star Tom Holland, Ciara Bravo, Bill Skarsgard, Jack Reynor, Forrest Goodluck, Jeff Wahlberg, Michael Gandolfini and Kyle Harvey. The Russo brothers will direct the movie based on Nico Walker’s New York Times bestselling novel.

“We were drawn to ‘Cherry’ given our personal experience from Cleveland, as well as the important need to share stories like these. As Cleveland natives ourselves, it means a lot to us to be able to film in our hometown. We shot the exteriors for ‘Winter Soldier’ here, we are excited to return home to our roots,” said Anthony and Joe Russo.

The movie centers around the true-life story of a former Army medic who returned from Iraq with extreme undiagnosed PTSD. He becomes addicted to opioids and begins robbing banks. He is caught in 2011 and set to be released in 2020.

“Having just moved back home to Cleveland myself, I’m so excited the Russo brothers are also coming back to film their next project,” said Evan Miller, the new president of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. “The GCFC worked very closely with the Russo brothers and their production company AGBO to ensure this Cleveland-based story would be filmed in Cleveland. We are grateful for their continued support of our mission to create jobs and further economic development through the film/media industry.”

Showtime’s BILLIONS season 5 is now casting basketball players in New York.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming on January 7th through January 22nd in New York City.

Producers are seeking the following types:

Caucasian male, age range 30s-40s, 6’1-6’3 in height, 200-220lbs. Should be bald OR willing to shave head. Must have college level or higher basketball playing skills.

About Billions:

Wealth, influence, and corruption collide in this drama set in New York. Shrewd U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is embroiled in a high-stakes game of predator vs. prey with Bobby Axelrod, an ambitious hedge-fund king. To date, Rhoades has never lost an insider trading case — he’s 81-0 — but when criminal evidence turns up against Axelrod, he proceeds cautiously in building the case against Axelrod, who employs Rhoades’ wife, psychiatrist Wendy, as a performance coach for his company. Wendy, who has been in her position longer than Chuck has been in his, refuses to give up her career for her husband’s legal crusade against Axelrod. Both men use their intelligence, power, and influence to outmaneuver the other in this battle over billions. Stranger Things 4 filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Stranger Things’ filming locations include the following:

Emory University, which was the filming location for Hawkins National Laboratory
East Point First Baptist Church, which is the filming location for Hawkins General Hospital
45 Pray Street in Douglasville, Georgia was the filming location for the Hawkins Police Station
Starcourt Mall filmed at Gwinnett Place Mall near Duluth, Georgia.
Hawkins Middle School and Hawkins High School filmed at 109 South Lee Street in Stockbridge, Georgia
Butts County Probate Court was the filming location for Stranger Things’ Public Library
Restaurant Tiffany’s Kitchen in Lithia Springs was the filming location for Benny’s Burgers in the show.
Stone Mountain Park was the filming location for many of the forest and woods scenes
Properties near East Point’s Piney Wood Drive were used as the homes for many of the Stranger Things’ families
Interior shots were filmed at a studio lot at EUE Screen Gems Studios in Atlanta

Keanu Reeves’ ‘The Matrix 4’ and ‘John Wick 4’ Will Premiere on the Same Day

Keanu Reeves is going to have one hell of a box office weekend.

Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed that ‘The Matrix‘ will hit theaters on May 20, 2021, premiering against the newest sequel in the Lionsgate franchise, ‘John Wick 4‘.

While details for ‘The Matrix 4’ are still unknown, the movie will see the return of Reeves as Neo, along with the original director Lana Wachowski. Reeves additional castmates will include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Mindhunter‘s Jonathan Groff and possibly Jada Pinkett-Smith as Niobe.

The success of the ‘John Wick’ franchise has paved the way for another movie. Less than two weeks after the premiere of ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’, Lionsgate announced a sequel. John Wick 3 beat ‘Avengers: Endgame at the box office and opened with a jaw-dropping $56.8 million, generating more than all of the previous John Wick movies.

Before the release of these two iconic movies, Reeves will reprise his iconic role as Theodore “Ted” Logan in Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third installment in the popular ’90s Bill & Ted franchise. The comedy is scheduled to premiere on August 20, 2020.

Larry David is back with ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm‘ Season 10.

HBO has finally released the trailer for the 10th season of Larry David’s ‘Curb your Enthusiasm’. The trailer features Larry David in hot water by annoying his friends and strangers.

In the two-minute trailer, Larry gets stuck in a hall behind an elderly person, argues with Garlin and JB Smoove about a comedy club. He also has a fight with Laverne Cox regarding a speech and gets kicked out of a dinner party. Fred Armisen and Jan Krakowski also make appearances in the trailer as well.

Sadly, season 10 will not include David’s longtime friend Marty Funkhouser played by Bob Einstein, who passed away in January. Despite the 10th season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, this will be the first season since 2017, when Season 9 premiered. The show ran for several years from 2000 to 2011.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 10 will kick off January 19, 2020, at 10:30 PM ET on HBO.

Netflix has announced what is headed to the streaming platform for January 2020. Some of the most highly-anticipated shows including Netflix Originals including the return of ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ and the final season of ‘Anne with an E’.
