This Hollywood extra goes viral with this compilation reel
EJ Zapata has worked on dozens of hit TV shows and movies in recent years. You probably have seen him but never paid him any attention. That’s because Zapata works as a Hollywood background extra, working in the background of TV shows and movies, reacting to or simply being around the main stars of the scene. You may not notice him, and that’s because he’s just that good. He can show up in everything ranging from “Ballers” to Sprint commercials, but you would have never known.
Zapata has gone viral. By posting a highlight reel of his work on Vimeo, he has received more than 500,00 views in less than 24 hours.
On Vimeo, the video is titled “Solid evidence every TV show, Movie, and Commercial are all in the same Cinematic Universe” before he shows some of the shows he worked as a background actor on.
It’s an entertaining video. Zapata shows himself in season 9, episode 11 of Shameless; season 1, episode 8 of American Vandal; and a quick scene in the Captain Marvel movie. Zapata is either laughing in the background while wearing a tuxedo, or using his phone in front of a club, or tying his shows in an anti-vaping PSA.
Last October, he shared a similar montage of clips that received over 400,000 views on YouTube. Zapata has a large enough range that he can be a high school student in a cafeteria, a tech company employee on set of “Silicon Valley” or a busboy on “Grey’s Anatomy”.

Hollywood’s A-listers have banded together to push Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp to veto the state’s highly controversial “heartbeat bill,”legislation that would prohibit women from seeking an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. Meanwhile, the governors of Pennsylvania and New Jersey are seizing the opportunity to coax producers to move their productions from Georgia to their states by advertising their own tax incentives and pro-abortion rights laws.
A petition created by Alyssa Milano, who is currently in Atlanta filming her Netflix series “Insatiable” was signed by more than 100 high profile celebrities including Amy Schumer, Alec Baldwin, and Judd Apatow. Milano wrote that if the bill passed, “we cannot in good conscience continue to recommend our industry remain in Georgia.”
The WGA letter noted if members were to boycott filming in Georgia, “the cost would be most deeply felt by the residents of Georgia — including those who directly work in the film and television industry, and those who benefit from the many millions of dollars it pours into the local economy.”
Georgia’s economy thrives off of the movie business. The state rolled out tax incentives in 2008 to lure Hollywood to the state. The state was once listed as the number one filming location in the world with the most productions filming in Georgia.
Following the “heartbeat bill” controversy, other states has stepped up to promote their own film tax incentives including Pennslyvania. Pennsylvania Gov. John Shapiro tweeted on Sunday, “Roe is the law — I protect it every day. Any state that guts women’s rights won’t succeed.”
Shapiro then tweeted entertainment projects that would be eligible for tax incentives in Pennsylvania.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted that he was meeting “with film industry reps in CA to make the case for choosing NJ over anti-choice states like GA.”
“States that claim to be a good value for business need to demonstrate the right values, including standing up for women’s rights,” he tweeted.
Georgia’s so-called “heartbeat bill” — officially known as the “Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act” — passed the state’s House on Friday, and could be signed into law any day by the governor, who expressed support for the bill.
“The legislature’s bold action reaffirmed our priorities and who we are as a state,” Kemp tweeted on Friday. “I thank these lawmakers for their leadership and applaud their undeniable courage.”
It is important to note Georgia is not alone. States around the United States have pursued similar legislation, though none have been successful in actually implementing the bans. According to CBS News, Republican governors in governors in Mississippi and Kentucky have recently signed heartbeat abortion bans, while lawmakers in Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina and Ohio have introduced similar legislation.
To celebrate “Game of Throne”’s eighth and final season, cookie maker Oreo is releasing a new line of “chocolate sandwich cookies” inspired by HBO’s hit series.
Officially announced via Oreo’s Instagram page, the upcoming cookie was teased with a short video and the caption, “Cookies are coming,” a play on the show’s “Winter is Coming” meme.
The limited edition cookies will include the sigils of House Lannister, House Targaryen and House Stark along with The Night King. Fans will be able to buy the limited edition Oreos starting Monday, April 8 at all Oreo stores while supplies last. The announcement is a 50-second clip done alongside Elastic, the creatives behind “Game of Throne”’s epic opening sequence, which sees the castles being built with over 2,000 Oreo cookies.
Fans can visit either Oreo.com, Oreo’s Facebook or Twitter page to pledge their allegiance to one of the previously mentioned houses with the hashtags #GameofCookies and #ForTheThrone. Oreo will then select the winners and mail them a special prize.
Update: A listing on eBay for two tickets to “Avengers: Endgame” for April 28 has reached $9,199. The nearly 10-grand auction is for a showing on April 28th at AMC’s 84th Street 6 Theater in New York City, but the crazy thing is that the blockbuster opens on April 26th, the expensive tickets are not even for the opening night. These tickets are so far the most expensive yet, another pair of tickets are now priced at $4,000 for an April 25th AMC 84th St. 6 Theater NYC Opening Night.
There are several other listings going for cheaper, ranging around $200 per ticket, so if you’re planning on watching “Avengers: Endgame” on opening day, you still have a chance.
Original Story: Georgia-filmed “Avengers: Endgame” tickets are now for sale, but they are already breaking records. Deadline reported that the pre-sales for the epic Marvel blockbuster on Atom tickets have already tripled the first-hour ticket sales of “Infinity War.” The movie also beat out the first-hour pre-sales for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”, one of 2017’s biggest films. The Many Saints of Newark is set amid the 1967 Newark riots, which Livia was seen watching live on television during a flashback in the episode “Down Neck”.
There were over a hundred race riots across America in what was dubbed “The Long Hot Summer of 1967”, as tensions boiled over as African Americans continued to face discrimination. In Newark, the start for the riot was one that still shocks the city today is the beating of a black man by police.
“That was a time when the African-Americans and the Italians of Newark were at each other’s throats,” Deadline notes, “and among the gangsters of each group, those conflicts became especially lethal.”
