An interactive social media content series is looking for Canadians who have been in Canada for 5 years or less to travel the country for an Interac campaign. Pay is $3,000 per week, if selected. No acting experience is required. Casting directors are seeking the following types:

  • 1) You have an interesting story or background and have come to Canada to start a new life.
  • 2) You are open to trying new things and experiencing aspects of other cultures (i.e. food and/or traditions).
  • 3) You are outdoorsy and comfortable with the idea of traveling.
  • 4) You have an understanding of social media and the ability to record key moments of your journey.
  • 5) You are charismatic, friendly and conversational with a memorable and interesting personality.
  • 6) You have a grasp of the English language. Bonus if you speak French but please DO NOT LIMIT.

The new comedy centers around a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work — all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. McBride will star as main character Jesse Gemstone, who sees himself as a maverick in the ministry game, taking what his father, Eli Gemstone, has built and expanded it for a more modern audience. “Game of Thrones” Emilia Clarke Shares Hospital Images After Brain Aneurysm

Emilia Clarke reveals never-before-seen photographs of her shortly after she suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm in 2011.

The photos of the Game of Thrones actress looking weak in a hospital bed showing the impact the life-threatening incident had on the then 24-year-old.

During an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Emilia, now 32, shared the photos and opened up about how she fell into a dark place following her recovery.

Looking back at how it affected her psychologically, the actress, who plays Daenerys I Targaryen in the hit HBO show, said: “The first time it was difficult, with the second one I found it much harder to stay optimistic.

“[I coped with it as a] a day to day thing. I definitely went through a period of being… down – putting it mildly.”

Two years later, in 2013, Emilia suffered a second aneurysm, which she said almost killed her.

“The second one, there was a bit of my brain that actually died,” she revealed. “If a part of your brain doesn’t get blood to it for a minute, it will just no longer work. It’s like you short circuit. So, I had that.

“So, they [the doctors] literally were looking at the brain and being like, ‘Well, we think it could be – could be her concentration, it could be her peripheral vision’.”

Emilia joked, “I always say it’s my taste in men. For a very long time, I thought it was my ability to act…that was a deep paranoia.”

Amazingly, she returned to the set and has been an ever-present of Game of Thrones, now in its eighth season. In fact, Emilia said it was the pressure of having to play such a ‘badass; character, that ultimately saved her life – she simply had ‘no time to question her mortality’.

“You go on the set,” she says, “and you play a badass character, and you walk through fire, and you speak to hundreds of people, and you’re being asked to be – to work as hard as you possibly can.

“And that became the thing that just saved me from considering my own mortality, yeah.”

Emilia will return to television screens later this month as the final season of GOT kicks off on April 15th.

Australia To Give Marvel Studios $18 Million To Film Next Movie There

Marvel Studios to receive $18 million to film a mystery movie in Australia.

The Australian government has agreed to give Marvel Studios a $17.1 million subsidy in agreement for the studio to film an unnamed Marvel Cinematic Universe film there. According to Variety, Marvel will be eligible to additional government funds, which could be as high as $20.9 million, for a total of $38 million.

“Securing this latest production will bring over A$150 million (US$107 million) of new international investment, create 4,700 new Australian jobs and use the services of around 1,200 local businesses,” said Australia’s Federal Minister for Communications and the Arts, Mitch Fifield.

Both the government and the studio would not disclose the film, simply described “a major new Marvel Studios movie” and “a big-budget superhero film.”

The are four announced Marvel Studios coming soon including Black Widow, The Eternals, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Shang-Chi and sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange has also been reported.

“Marvel Studios thanks the Australian and NSW Governments and is thrilled to be returning to Australia to work with the talented and highly skilled Australian crew, stunt performers and actors together with the thousands of small businesses across Australia that supply world-class equipment, goods, facilities and services to large budget productions” said David Grant, VP of Marvel Studios.

That said, the last Marvel film to shoot in Australia was 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok”, which also received subsidies from the federal government.

Georgia’s film industry used to be the home of multiple Marvel productions. Several major Marvel Studios movies including “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Avengers: Endgame”, “Black Panther”, and “Captain America: Civil War” filmed in Georgia.

Third “Walking Dead” Series To Film in Virginia This Summer

A new “Walking Dead” series is set to film in Virginia this summer.

Virginia Governor Ralph S. Northam’s office announced in a press release on April 8th that the third series in AMC’s “The Walking Dead” franchise would film their first season in Virginia. The show will center around the popular AMC program “The Walking Dead,” which is set to begin production on their 10th season in Atlanta, Georgia this summer.

Production of the ten episode series will start in Central Virginia this summer. The show will be the second AMC series to film in Virginia, following the Revolutionary War spy drama “TURN: Washington’s Spies,” which shot four seasons in Virginia from 2013 to 2017.

The show will center around two young female heroes and focus on the start of the zombie apocalypse.

“We are delighted to welcome AMC back to Virginia,” said Governor Northam. “The series will provide high-paying jobs for our skilled workers and will invite the economic opportunity for Virginia businesses large and small. Uniquely, the series also brings with it a devoted global fan-base, creating immeasurable added value for the Commonwealth as the franchise’s powerful spotlight shines on Virginia.”

“The film production industry is a fast-growing sector of the Virginia economy with an annual total economic impact of almost $862 million in 2017,” said Brian Ball, Secretary of Commerce and Trade. “During their time here, AMC’s turned a total economic impact of over $217 million in the Commonwealth, and this series marks the next chapter in a beneficial partnership between AMC and Virginia.”

“The Walking Dead franchise has one of the largest audiences on television today,” said Andy Edmunds, director of the Virginia Film Office. “This is no small feat considering the current content-rich climate, where viewers have thousands of options from which to choose. As home to the latest installment, Virginia will have access to this built-in, passionate audience and a tremendous film tourism opportunity. The Walking Dead’s original filming location, rural Senoia, Georgia, saw explosive economic growth thanks to thousands of tourists per year visiting to get a glimpse of filming sites. With Virginia already a wonderful place to visit and vacation, we are in the ultimate position to capitalize on this lucrative added tourism draw.”

As a result of filming in Virginia, the third “Walking Dead” series will receive a Virginia film tax credit. The exact amount will be based on the total number of Virginia workers hired, goods and services purchased, and deliverables including Virginia tourism promotions.

“Bill & Ted” Sequel to Film in Atlanta and New Orleans This Summer

“Bill & Ted” sequel is ramping up production to start filming on June 17th in New Orleans and Atlanta

“Bill & Ted” sequel will reportedly start filming on June 17th in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Atlanta, Georgia. At the moment, the only cast members for the upcoming movie are reportedly Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and William Sadler. But, more casting announcements should be coming soon.

The film, which is currently in pre-production, has also released a plot synopsis of sorts, per Deadline:

When we last picked up with the most audacious dudes they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Once prophesied to save the universe with their rock ‘n’ roll, according to the production the new movie will see the two best friends as middle-aged men with family responsibilities who have yet to fulfill their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns the duo that only their music can save life as we know it. Out of luck and inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on another time-travel adventure — with the help of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures and some sympathetic music legends — to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it.

The movie’s director Dean Parisot (‘Galaxy Quest, RED 2’) is onboard, with a script by returning writers Chris Matheson (‘A Goofy Movie’) and Ed Solomon (‘Men in Black’).

“The Walking Dead” Season 10 To Begin Production in Georgia on May 6th

 AMC is set to start production on the hit zombie-drama “The Walking Dead” this May 6th in Georgia.

The GWW reports, cameras are set to begin filming on May 6th of this year in Atlanta and Senior, Georgia. Filming is set to wrap on November 21st. Angela Kang will reprise her role as the showrunner of the series with Gale Anne Hurd, Scott Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and Amy Beth Barnes executive producing. Norman Reedus is expected to return as the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon alongside Melissa McBride, Samantha Morton, and Dania Gurira. 

Season 10 will center around the communities of Alexandria and Hilltop as the group deals with the looming threat of the Whisperers. The new season is set to premiere this October 2020.

This news comes after Norman Reedus said he will “burn down the studio” if “The Walking Dead” kills off his character Daryl Dixon.

“I don’t want to go anywhere. I’ll burn down that whole studio if they got rid of me,” he told ET recently. “I always said I wanted to just walk off into the sunset with a dog, but now so many people are doing that, that I don’t know. I don’t know how I’d want to die. I don’t want to die ever, so I don’t want to put it out there. I don’t want to give anyone any ideas.”

Reedus reportedly receive a major pay bump for this past season after Andrew Lincoln left the show, and has now effectively turned into the show’s leading character.

Jon Stewart‘s new movie “Irresistible” starring Steve Carell is now recurring roles in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jon Stewart’s new movie “Irresistible” is now casting a core group of background actors to work on scenes filming in Rockmart, Georgia. Casting directors are seeking talent to work on scenes April 30th through May 30th. Producers are looking for men and women who have flexible availability to work on the movie.

About “Irresistible”:

Jon Stewart is working on his next project. Since leaving “The Daily Show” in 2015, Stewart plans on writing and directing “Irresistible” a political satire. Details have not yet been revealed. Stewart will produce, along with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. The new movie will star Steve Carell, who is most known for his roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.”

About “The Conjuring 3”:

In 2016, “The Conjuring” director James Wan said he would not be directing another movie in the franchise due to scheduling conflicts, “there could be many more [Conjuring] movies because the Warrens have so many stories”, acknowledging that “there are other filmmakers that I would love to sort of continue on the Conjuring world”.

James Wan stated the next film would take place in the 1980s, citing “American Werewolf in London” as inspiration. By June of 2016, it was announced a third sequel was in development. By 2017, James Wan said the movie was in development for a long time because he wanted it to live up to the quality of the previous two films.

In October 2018, Michael Chaves was announced as the film’s director, after previously directing a film being released by Atomic Monster Productions. Wan stated he was impressed while working with Chaves on The Curse of La Llorona, and that the filmmaker would make a great addition to the creative team. Wilson and Farmiga are set to reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, with the plot reportedly revolving around a legal trial where the defendant claimed to have been possessed during the crimes of which he is accused.

“Jumanji 3” wraps production in Atlanta, Georgia.

Filming is currently underway for the third installment of the “Jumanji” franchise, and the movie’s leading actor has just announced an essential ending to the movie’s process. According to an Instagram post from Dwayne Johnson, the film has wrapped production on the scenes that filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. The actor goes on to thank the Georgia crew and gives fans a hint as to what to expect in the sequel.

“[Peace] out from Dr. Smolder Bravestone of JUMANJI. That’s a wrap on our Atlanta portion of production. A huge THANK YOU to our hard working & talented Georgia film crew. Once again, it’s been my pleasure to put in the work with all of you and look forward to our next adventure down the road. Our production train rolls on to shoot in some pretty wild locations – the hot jungles to the icy snow-capped mountains and the blistering desert dunes. Still, much work to be done, but we’re making something pretty cool & fun for our audiences around the world this Christmas,” Johnson writes.

Many fans commented on the Instagram photo, which shows Johnson on set.

Dwayne Johnson is teaming up with the previous film’s cast, which includes Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas. Rhys Darby and the first film’s cast of teens, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, and Alex Wolff, will also be returning in some capacity and Jake Kasdan is coming back to direct.

The movie also features some exciting additions, including  Awkwafina, who rose to stardom last year with Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. It was also announced at the beginning of the year that Danny DeVito from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” signed up to be a part in the film.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle follow-up is scheduled for release on December 13th.

LeBron James’ “Space Jam 2” is Having Trouble Casting

LeBron James is reportedly having trouble casting NBA players for the sequel.

LeBron James is getting ready to shoot a sequel for “Space Jam”, as his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers come to an end. As was done with the Michael Jordan-led 1996 “Space Jam” movie, the basketball star has been recruiting additional high-profile players also to make appearances in the film, but he’s reportedly having a hard time recruiting other NBA players to join him.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, LeBron James has a few top players he would like to cast in “Space Jam 2”, but he “hasn’t been able to close some of those deals.” During the ESPN sports writer’s recent report during an ESPN telecast, he speculated other NBA players might have turned him down because “you put me in the movie where you’re the star, I’m going to be the one you’re dunking on.”

Maybe some of the other players are not interested in playing second-fiddle to LeBron James. Hoop Hype writer Bryan Kalbrosky said in a tweet that he’d been told star players may be turning down Space Jam 2 because the pay may not be high enough to convince them. That said, Kalbrosky said he also spoke to entertainment industry insiders who told him the amount being offered is quite high for a cameo.

It is important to note, James is an executive producer on the movie who indeed has significant influence when it comes to making decisions as to who will and who will not appear in the film. In the first “Space Jame,” Michael Jordan was joined by Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Shawn Bradley, Larry Johnson, Patrick Ewing, and Muggsy Bogues. The addition of other NBA stars would drum up interest into the movie and allow some other players to be a part of this cinematic event.

“Space Jam 2” centers around LeBron James, whose last acting job was playing himself in 2015’s “Trainwreck.” The basketball star also recently had a minor voice acting job in 2018’s “Smallfoot.” The upcoming Looney Tunes basketball movie will also be produced by “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler and “Star Trek Beyond” director Justin Lin. “Space Jam 2” will be directed by Terrence Nance, who recently reacted the HBO series “Random Acts of Flyness.”

Currently, “Star Trek: Discovery’s” lead Sonequa Martin-Green was cast to appear in “Space Jam 2” last week as LeBron James’ wife. It begs the question, which basketball stars did LeBron James ask to join him in the movie? Was it Kobe Bryant? Perhaps Michael Jordan? What about his teammates from the Lakers?

It is important to note, LeBron James still has time to recruit more players for “Space Jam 2” as the movie is set to be released on July 16, 2021.

Actor Mark Duplass Says He’s “Appalled” At How Extras Are Treated As “2nd Class Citizens”

Actor Mark Duplass calls out people who treat background actor as “2nd class citizens”.

Mark David Duplass is a film director and producer, actor, musician, screenwriter, and author. He was a co-star of the FX television series “The League,” and has since worked on several major productions including “The Mindy Project,” “Big Mouth,” and the upcoming Untitled Roger Ailes Project. On April 5th, the actor tweeted to his 400,000+ followers demanding background actors receive respect.

“Continually appalled at how background actors are treated as 2nd class citizens. If you see this happening, please gently bring it to the attention of the offender(s) and ask them to reconsider their approach. It’s an odd blind spot in our industry.”

Followers responded applauding the actor for standing up for those who can not risk their acting careers.

One follower commented, “Yes — finally, someone higher up starting this conversation. If I had a dollar for every time, I heard a disrespectful comment about BG I’d have a dollar from almost EVERY set I’ve been on. We are all trying to make a living.”

Background actors are the unsung heroes of many motion pictures. They are the “living furniture” that make scenes come alive. Without their help, audience scenes, reaction scenes, and other pivotal moments in movies could never happen. But, that does not mean they are rewarded for their work. The Academy does not offer an award for the best “Background Actor” in a major motion picture, they are not the highest paid person on a production, and as writer, director, and actor Mark Duplass pointed out in a recent tweet, they are not usually treated the best on set.

Hopefully, more actors will stand up for background actors, using their platform to demand equal treatment on set.
