Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg is creating a new movie about his childhood and growing up in Arizona. According to Deadline, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Tony Kushner will co-write the screenplay with Spielberg, who will direct the movie. Spielberg and Kushner recently worked on the upcoming West Side Story remake. Production is set to begin this July with a 2022 release planned.

Tony nominee Fosse/Verdon Emmy winner Michelle Williams is in talks to star in a role inspired by Spielberg’s mother.

Disney is building up a lineup of inclusive productions for the LGBTQ+ community. Pixar is looking for a voice actor for its first-ever transgender character.

“Pixar is casting a youth voice-over role for an upcoming animated project. The character, Jess, is a 14-year-old transgender girl. She’s compassionate, funny, and always has your back. We’re looking for actresses 12 to 17 years old,” the casting call reads. Additional requirements for the role include those who “are enthusiastic, outgoing, funny and energetic,” as well as “feel comfortable acting in front of a microphone.”

Details for the production have not been released. However, some are speculating its for the upcoming Pixar Turning Red, which is slated to debut in 2022.

We need people who fit sample size shoes for a photoshoot for CAT Footwear. Pay is $1200/day for 1 day of work in Portland, OR between May 12-15.

We’re looking for people age 18+ of all genders who comfortably fit in a “men’s” size 9 (wears size 8-10) or “women’s” size 7 (wears size 6-8) shoe. All identities welcome. See below for details on the size considerations.

BONUS: We’re especially interested in the following (not required): people with dance/movement training, a strong sense of fashion, and/or tattoos/alternative vibes. People who identify as BIPOC, plus-size, and/or queer/genderqueer

You don’t need any professional modeling experience to apply. You should feel comfortable on camera and be good at taking direction.

Non-Union. Must be 18+ and live in Oregon/Washington. Must disclose your talent agency if applicable.

What’s Sample Size?
Sample sizes are the industry standard sizes for footwear prototypes. Since this photoshoot is happening before production of the full footwear line, the samples are the only size shoes available for models to wear during the shoot.

“National Champions” Starring J.K. Simmons Casting Call for Speaking Roles

National Champions feature film casting call for speaking roles.

Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons and Stephan James are teaming up for the new movie National Champions. James from If Beale Street Could Talk will play a star quarterback who leads to a player strike days before the biggest game of the college football season to boost compensation for student-athletes, who generate so much money for their school.

Simmons’ role in the film has not been revealed, but an actor of his stature will probably play a major role in the movie.

National Champions is being adapted from a stage play by Adam Mervis, who’s also writing the script. Mervis wrote the script for 21 Bridges, in which James also starred alongside Simmons and Chadwick Boseman.

Ric Roman Waugh will direct the film who previously directed dramas including Angel Has Fallen and Greenland.
