Blake Lively’s Older Interview Throws Light on Alleged ‘Toxic Behavior’—Reporter Sheds Light

Key Takeaways:

– An older interview with Blake Lively has resurfaced showing, in the reporter’s eyes, unprofessional behavior.
– Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa made claims against Lively, stating she was ignored during the interview.
– Comments from Lively during the interview were seen as dismissive by Flaa.
– The incident has led to an outpouring of adjectives like ‘toxic’ to describe Lively’s behavior during the interview.
– Many internet users have supported Flaa and her claims, encouraging the stand against such behavior from celebrities.

Popular actress Blake Lively has recently been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. She’s come under fire for her alleged ‘toxic behavior’, highlighted in an old interview with Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa during the promotion of her 2016 movie, ‘Cafe Society’.

Flaa Unearths an Old Interview

In the age-old interview, Flaa recalls feeling dismissed and ignored by Lively as the actress appeared more interested in conversing with her co-star, Parker Posey. She even referred to a moment when she congratulated a then-pregnant Lively on her ‘bump’, and was met with an unappreciative response. Despite efforts to steer the conversation and ask questions, Flaa claims that Lively primarily engaged with Posey, making the professional interview feel uncomfortably informal. This encounter was shared by Flaa on YouTube recently, shedding light on Lively’s behavior.

Blake Lively Faces Further Criticisms

As if the resurfacing of this encounter were not enough, Flaa also revealed that she was not the only interviewer to have a less than ideal experience with Lively. Flaa, treading a controversial path, admitted in a follow-up clip that she kept quiet for a long period due to fears of jeopardizing her career given Lively’s celebrity status. She further stated that other individuals have come forward with similar complaints against the ‘Age of Adaline’ actress, but are still unwilling to publicly share their experiences out of fear for their careers.

Fans Call Out Blake Lively’s Alleged Toxic Behavior

The netizens, or the internet users, have responded strongly to these revelations. Many of them, using the YouTube comment section, urged for celebrities like Lively to be treated as regular individuals and held accountable for their actions. Some comments demanded an end to the perceived ‘superior’ behavior of celebrities, whilst others lauded Flaa for speaking up about her experience.

An example is a comment from user @maryann7941, who wrote, “We need to start normalizing treating celebrities like normal people!! They shouldn’t have the power to ruin someone’s job because of their own behavior.” This statement embodies the outcry of fans who feel that an interviewer’s career shouldn’t suffer due to the whims of the person they’re interviewing.

The Fallout of the Interview

This social media debacle has led to increased scrutiny of Blake Lively, with fans expressing disappointment and even anger. The fact that Flaa claims more similar stories are being silenced out of fear further inflames the situation. It looks like Lively will have more to do than just simply apologize to win back her fans.

Indeed, if true, this incident is a clear example of how celebrity status shouldn’t provide immunity against scrutiny or accountability. Instead, it should be a platform for setting the right behavior within the industry and outside of it. After all, everyone, including celebrities, should be held to the same social standards, especially in a professional setup. Such behavior should not be accepted as ordinary. Instead, it should prompt serious consideration of how we can foster a culture that encourages proper behavior, irrespective of one’s status.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein Updates and Reflections on Crimson Peak

Key Takeaways:
– Director Guillermo Del Toro is currently working on a new Frankenstein project.
– Del Toro has expressed his discomfort while staying at an old 1800s hotel due to uncanny occurrences.
– The award-winning director reflects on the disappointing reception of his film, Crimson Peak, in 2015, attributing it to bad marketing strategy.

Guillermo Del Toro, the remarkable director hailed for his deep fondness for horror films, is braving the odds in bringing to life a new version of the iconic tale of Frankenstein. In an exciting update shared with fans, he opened up about an unexpected encounter at a creepy 1800s hotel, which adds a mysterious layer to his personality.

Del Toro’s Haunting Hotel Experience

But hold on, it’s not just the monster of Frankenstein that Guillermo is dealing with! The Pacific Rim director recently informed fans that his hotel stay has been nothing short of eerie. According to his post, a rather disturbing atmosphere haunts his hotel room, to the point where he changed rooms just to find his sleep. He mentioned, even if it’s a mere psychological mirage, something doesn’t seem right about the room. While he will continue visiting the room, he made it clear he’s not up for staying there long. As fans, we’re all on the edge of our seats, waiting for his updates!

Guillermo Reflects on Crimson Peak’s Reception

Moving beyond the fear and uncertainty looming around the hotel room, Del Toro also found himself reminiscing about his 2015 film, Crimson Peak. In a sit-down with Vulture, Del Toro revealed how the negative reception still haunts him. Viewing the film’s promotion as a horror rather than a romance and mystery is what, in his eyes, doomed the public reception of the film. However, time seems to be healing this wound as the movie is slowly finding its audience. The director confessed that his peace is growing as the film is steadily appreciated by its viewers, who are connecting with it at a profound level.

So, you might ask, why is this bothersome for Del Toro? According to him, Crimson Peak was marketed as a horror film, but in reality, it was more of a romantic mystery. He feels this was a poor decision and led to the film’s lukewarm reception. Despite that, Del Toro remains heartened by the small but growing number of viewers who appreciate and own the film.

Guillermo Del Toro lets us into his world with these honest and raw insights, showing a side of him that fans don’t often see. As he continues to carve a niche in the film industry, we’re reminded that even the best go through moments of doubt. Yet, like a true champion, Del Toro powers through and views these experiences not as setbacks, but as lessons learned. As he wraps up his new Frankenstein film, we are left eager and excited to see the fruit of his labor.

To conclude, the director’s experiences, both in his filmmaking journey and during his haunting hotel stay, teach us that embracing our fears and moving forward is the only way to reach our goals. His perspective remains insightful and assuring, reminding us that patience ensures the success of our endeavors, just like the slowly blossoming appreciation for Crimson Peak. As he stands in the face of adversity, we continue to cheer for Guillermo Del Toro and eagerly anticipate his next masterpiece.

The Return of Beetlejuice: Tim Burton Guarantees The Character Retains His Original Charm

Key Takeaways:
– Beetlejuice’s long-awaited sequel is all set to hit the theaters on September 6th.
– Tim Burton has maintained Beetlejuice’s character to be as politically incorrect as it was in 1988 when played by Michael Keaton.
– After decades in development, Beetlejuice 2 finally gets realized, penned by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B.
– Keaton is back as Beetlejuice, joined by Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe.

Now, hold on to your seats, folks! Our favorite mischievous spirit, Beetlejuice, is back – and guess what? He’s just as politically incorrect as he was in the classic 1988 movie. So, Beetlejuice fans, mark your calendars for September 6th!

Tim Burton’s Take on Beetlejuice’s Character

In an interview with Collider, director Tim Burton guaranteed that Beetlejuice is unchanged, despite 36 years having passed since we first fell in love with the troublesome ghost. He shared a good laugh with Michael Keaton, who again took on the role of Beetlejuice, over the fact that the character has remained the same political incorrectness he embodied back when we first met him.

The Journey Towards Beetlejuice 2

The journey towards Beetlejuice 2 hasn’t been easy. The sequel was stuck in production purgatory for years before finally making headway. Fact is, in 1990, Jonathan Gems had started drafting a sequel named ‘Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian,’ but it never got off the ground.

Jumping to 2011, Seth Grahame-Smith was brought in to pen a new take on the sequel. Then in 2017, Mike Vukadinovich was called in for a draft revamp. Fast forward to now, it’s Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the creative brains behind ‘Wednesday,’ who’ve successfully written a screenplay that’s made it to the screen!

Who’s On Board?

The sequel assembled a stellar cast wherein Keaton, of course, leads as Beetlejuice. The team also includes the talented Winona Ryder, returning as Lydia Deetz, Beetlejuice’s initial earthly nemesis. We’ve also got familiar faces like Catherine O’Hara back as Delia, Lydia’s stepmother.

New faces include Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter Astrid, Justin Theroux playing Lydia’s fiancé Rory, the ever-gorgeous Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s wife, and the versatile Willem Dafoe in the role of a law enforcement officer from the afterlife.

Beetlejuice 2 Plot: What to Expect?

According to the official plot summary, Beetlejuice 2 follows three generations of the Deetz family as they return to Winter River following an unexpected family loss. When Lydia’s rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, stumbles upon the town’s mysterious model in their attic, she accidentally opens the gateway to the afterlife, and trouble starts brewing in both worlds.

The question remains though: when will someone unintentionally utter Beetlejuice’s name three times and set the notorious spirit loose to wreak his original brand of chaos?

In conclusion, got your Beetlejuice excitement stirred yet? We’re super thrilled for Beetlejuice’s return and can’t wait to see him working his mischievous charm again, just like old times. Let us know your thoughts and if you’re as excited as we are!

Brad Pitt Unveils Brandon Lee’s Eerie Prediction & How ‘The Crow’ Changed Filming Rules

Key Takeaways:

– Brad Pitt shares a memory of fellow actor Brandon Lee predicting his own untimely death.
– Brandon Lee tragically died during the shooting of movie ‘The Crow’, much like he had predicted.
– ‘The Crow’ reboot, directed by Rupert Sanders, enforced strict safety rules against real guns.

The Eerie Prediction That Came True

In an unforeseen tragedy that shook Hollywood, Brandon Lee, the talented son of renowned martial artist Bruce Lee, lost his life while filming the 1994 movie ‘The Crow’. This catastrophe not only left a permanent mark on the film industry, but also unleashed a haunting narrative which actor Brad Pitt unraveled years later.

During his 2019 promotion for the film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, Brad Pitt recounted a chilling episode in which Brandon Lee had predicted his own untimely death, similar to his father’s, almost a year prior to the unfortunate incident.

Brad Pitt & Brandon Lee’s Late-Night Talk

In a reflective conversation with Esquire about the uncanny coincidences in Hollywood, Pitt recalled a particular late-night talk with the late Brandon Lee.

“I remember back in the early days I hung out with Brandon Lee,” said Pitt. He remembered a certain night when Lee shared his foreboding prediction of his early demise. It was a night out, after everyone else had gone their separate ways, they ended up at Lee’s place.

“We went out one night and everyone else had peeled off, and we ended up back at his place,“ revealed Pitt. It was a high-spirited, tipsy evening when Lee soberly shared his belief that he might die young like his father.

Nevertheless, Pitt dismissed this late-night confession as an offhand, possibly tipsy remark. Little did he know, the relevance of this conversation would soon surface after tragedy struck Lee just a year later.

The Tragic Demise of Brandon Lee

The prophetic conversation between Pitt and Lee gained a sinister undertone when Brandon Lee was killed in a freak accident during the making of ‘The Crow’. Similar to his father Bruce Lee, who died young at the age of 32, Brandon Lee lost his life at the early age of 28 in a horrifying on-set accident involving a prop gun.

The New Safety Standards on Set

In the wake of this fatal event, Rupert Sanders, the director of the recent ‘The Crow’ reboot, decided to tighten up safety regulations regarding real firearms on movie sets.

“Safety is a number one priority,” Sanders insisted. Acknowledging the multiple risks surrounding film production, he laid out a firm rule against using real firing weapons on set.

Instead of taking the risk of using real guns, Sanders enlisted the help of Airsoft guns and non-firing rubber or metal decoys, going an extra mile to ensure there was no danger of live rounds or blanks causing any harm.

Despite the conscientious effort to uplift safety standards and the participation of ‘It’ star Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, the reboot received a rather critical review, with a paltry 21% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In finishing, the life-changing incident experienced by the late Brandon Lee reveals just how unpredictable life can be and emphasizes the importance of enhancing safety measures in high-risk workplaces like film sets.

The original ‘The Crow’ featuring Brandon Lee is currently available on Paramount+ and the recent reboot ‘The Crow (2024)’ is now showing in theatres.

A Fresh Spin on an Old Tale

After a long wait and much expectation, the new take on “The Crow” has finally landed on the big screen, thanks to Lionsgate. We’ve been discussing this project for quite some time and our collective curiosity is finally satisfied. To say we were anxious would be putting it mildly!

Directed by Rupert Sanders of “Snow White and the Huntsman” fame, this version isn’t labeling itself as a remake. Instead, it’s being hailed as a new adaptation of the comic book series originally created by James O’Barr. The screenplay was penned by Oscar-nominated writer Zach Baylin, known for his magnificent work on “King Richard”.

A Familiar Story with New Faces

Our familiar tale of soulmates Eric, played by the charismatic Bill Skarsgard of “Boy Kills World”, and Shelly, played by the talented singer FKA twigs. They find themselves brutally slain as Shelly’s murky past catches up with them. Seizing a chance to protect his true love, Eric embarks on a fearless mission to vindicate the pair, journeying between the realms of the living and the deceased.

Enhancing the cast is Danny Huston from “Yellowstone” as the chief antagonist. Other stars include David Bowles from “Brothers”, Isabella Wei of “1899”, Laura Birn from “A Walk Among the Tombstones”, Sami Bouajila, famous for “The Bouncer”, and Jordan Bolger from “Peaky Blinders”.

A Labor of Love

This new adaptation of “The Crow” comes over two decades after the original film, which was released in 1994. The journey to the big screen this time wasn’t smooth sailing. From being first announced in 2008, it waded through a host of challenges, including changing screenwriters, discarded scripts, and even studio bankruptcies.

Several celebrated directors like Stephen Norrington, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Corin Hardy, and Francisco Javier Gutiérrez worked on the project. Plenty of heavyweight actors, including Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans, Jason Momoa, and Jack Huston, contemplated taking up the lead role.

Cameron Monaghan’s Impressive Portrayal of The Joker

Key Takeaways:

– Cameron Monaghan’s portrayal of Jerome Valeska is lauded as one of the most compelling Joker performances.
– Fans would like to see Monaghan reprise the character in a sequel to ‘The Batman’.
– Despite other prominent Joker interpretations like Heath Ledger’s and Joaquin Phoenix’s, Jerome Valeska captivated viewers with his unique take.
– Monaghan’s Joker portrayal stands out for its depth and diversity, reflecting various elements from the comics and past movie adaptations.

‘The Joker’ is an iconic character, surrounded by an energy that draws in various actors, including A-listers like Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Joaquin Phoenix. Cameron Monaghan, best known for his role in ‘Gotham’, now joins this impressive roster with his interpretation of Jerome Valeska, a pseudo-Joker character.

Heath Ledger vs. Cameron Monaghan

Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker in ‘The Dark Knight’ remains the gold standard of live-action Jokers. His interpretation was both thrilling and dread-inducing. However, Cameron Monaghan is hot on his heels, bringing a multi-faceted performance that highlighted different facets of the Joker character throughout ‘Gotham’.

Monaghan’s Chameleon-Like Portrayal of Joker

Monaghan played multiple versions of the Joker, drawing on various sources like the comics and past movie adaptations. Twitter users praised his performance for its versatility. One user even suggested that Monaghan should be cast as the Joker in upcoming Batman sequels. Another emphasized that Monaghan’s portrayal of the character is among the top three live-action Joker performances.

Monaghan’s portrayal is unique and more extroverted compared to Ledger’s Joker. Yet, it holds equally riveting elements that add to the character’s menacing persona. One scene, in particular, had fans praise him for cementing his status as a top-tier Joker actor. Such scenes are a testament to Monaghan’s ability to express the duality and instability of the Joker character effectively.

The Impact of Jerome Valeska

In ‘Gotham’, the Valeska twins represented incarnations of Batman’s most infamous nemesis. However, it was Jerome Valeska who truly embodied the Joker’s manic charisma. As a criminally insane character with Barbara Keen—his version of Harley Quinn—Monaghan drew plaudits for his performance in an otherwise average show.

Heath Ledger’s Joker Legacy

Heath Ledger was set to return as the Joker for ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ but his unfortunate untimely death meant that his singular appearance as the insane clown is hailed as one of the best comic-book adaptations. Ledger’s interpretation now serves as a benchmark for subsequent portrayals of the character.

Among these high-profile successors, Cameron Monaghan stands out despite not playing the actual Joker. His acting prowess as Jerome Valeska makes him a strong competitor to Ledger’s critically acclaimed version. Despite the immense popularity and appreciation for Ledger, Monaghan created a unique version of the character that continues to strike a chord with viewers.

In conclusion, while Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker is considered a definitive portrayal, Cameron Monaghan has carved out his own niche in Joker lore. His incredible range and interpretation of varied Joker elements across his ‘Gotham’ stint have left an indelible mark on the character’s live-action representation. His unique, creative spin on the character has indeed set a new bar for future adaptations.

The Crow’s Disappointing $650K Box Office Debut Spells Trouble for Lionsgate

Key Takeaways:

– Lionsgate’s film, The Crow, opened with a disappointing $650K earning on Thursday previews.
– The movie is not expected to make much more over its opening weekend.
– This is a significant blow for Lionsgate, following the recent controversy over false quotes used for another movie’s trailer.
– Blink Twice, a film with lesser buzz, outperformed The Crow at the Thursday box office.

Lionsgate Studio is struggling. After a series of mishaps, such as the infamous release of Madame Web and the controversy surrounding Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, the studio’s latest release, The Crow, debuted with underwhelming numbers.

Underwhelming Debut for The Crow

Directed by Rupert Sanders and built off a popular 90s franchise, The Crow was supposed to resurrect Lionsgate’s spirits. But unfortunately, the movie could only muster a meagre $650K at the early Thursday previews. And the future doesn’t look any brighter with the weekend projections hinting at a single-digit opening.

The film, starring Bill Skarsgård and featuring the famous musician FKA Twigs, failed to impress fans of the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee. The film currently has a disappointing 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and its audience rating is still in limbo.

When Lionsgate Lifted their Embargo

It was a red flag when Lionsgate lifted their embargo on screening the movie on the same day when screenings began. Chris Bumbray, our EIC, gave the film a lukewarm review, saying it had some great set pieces but was also frustratingly uneven and poorly paced. Despite its drawbacks, he did not dismiss the gothic actioner entirely.

Blink Twice Beats The Crow on Debut Night

Despite the attention given to The Crow, it was outperformed by Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice. The latter, with less buzz, managed to accumulate more at the box-office, totaling $820K in early Thursday previews.

In contrast to The Crow’s poor ratings, Blink Twice boasts a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its faults, Tyler Nichols, one of our writers, praised the film for having a distinct vision and a good story, though he felt a few adjustments could have elevated the film to greatness.

A Tough Month for Lionsgate

This has, indeed, been a tough month for Lionsgate. The studio, which had high hopes with some significant releases, has faced disappointment after disappointment. The underwhelming performance of The Crow has only added to their existing worries.

In the coming days, it will be interesting to see how Lionsgate tries to bounce back from these series of unfortunate events. However, for now, it seems the studio needs a major hit to regain its glory.

Time will tell whether Lionsgate can sail through this storm unscathed. It’s a situation reminiscent of the iconic Hans Christian Andersen’s story – it’s during storms that we see who can withstand the wind, and unfortunately for Lionsgate, their feathers seem ruffled.
