It would be a shame if you haven’t heard about FX’s ‘The Old Man,’ but just in case, here’s a quick summary about it and, more importantly, what you need to do for a chance to be a part of the second season (yes, barely into the first, and they’ve renewed the franchise- it’s that good!)
What is FX’s ‘The Old Man’ about?
Thomas Perry’s 2017 novel ‘The Old Man’ was the inspiration for this American thriller television series that even kept the original name of the book. It was broadcast in 2022 and, following its initial release to critics’ acclaim last year, debuted at number one with the critical consensus that it’s “mesmerizing.”
The critics are raving about this movie that Rotten Tomatoes says, ‘The Old Man,’ received a 94% approval rating based on 34 reviews.
Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine created the series that was met with rave reviews following its premiere on FX in June 2022. The second season has already been ordered!
Dan Chase has been living off-grid in Upstate New York for thirty years. He’s a former CIA operative who killed an intruder when he broke into his home and now needs to hide from someone else that might come looking for him!
He rents out space from Zoe McDonald, which turns out to be handy and brings them together as partners while on their way to becoming friends – or maybe more than just a landlord-tenant relationship? The Federal Bureau of Investigation is called upon to bring in Chase because he and his past during the Soviet-Afghan War. FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper works alongside FBI agent Angela Adams and other Black Ops to get Chase back on the grid.

Jeff Bridges as Dan Chase. 72-year-old Jeff Bridges leads the cast. Jeff Bridges is an actor that has been recognized for his versatility. He’s received various accolades throughout seven decades, including two Golden Globe Awards and one Academy Award. Jeff began his acting career with the movie ‘The Company She Keeps’ (1951), released days after his first birthday (yup, he was in movies before he could walk!)

Meet the Crew
‘The Old Man’ was announced in July 2019 and cast Jeff Bridges. In September, Jon Watts set as director of the show’s first episode, serving as an executive producer alongside John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman.
‘The Oldman” Casting Information
According to IMDB, Jeanie Bacharach is the casting director behind the ‘The Bear’ TV series. Her work was nominated for an Emmy (Primetime), and she has cast for Top Gun: Maverick (2022), Saving Private Ryan (1998), and Big Fish (2003). Like many series, ‘The Old Man’ has more than one casting director. Alongside Chamian is an equally accomplished casting director named Jordana Sapiurka. She’s known for her casting work on ‘The Highwaymen and ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’
The series is big and has been renewed for a second season. Casting directors primarily contact actors to work on the film through talent agencies.
