Los Angeles Casting Call for Several Principle Roles

Casting directors are currently taking Union submissions for 6 different principal roles. Casting directors will be holding open auditions Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in West Hollywood at Fox Studios. You must be able to make the audition. Do not submit if you are unable to attend.
Casting directors are seeking talents for an 60 minute TV show and talents selected will be given an principal contract if selected. If you are interested, read the following casting call details below for more information:

*** UNION Principal Submissions****

Michelle is taking UNION submissions for 6 different principal roles. There will be an unpaid audition Tuesday 12/17 at 2pm in West Hollywood or at FOX Studios. Please do not submit if you are unable to make the audition, it is required for you to be considered. The work date will either be Tuesday 12/17 or Wednesday 12/18. This is for an AFTRA FOB 60 min TV show and you will be on a principal contract if selected. Please read below carefully and only submit for those roles in which you meet ALL requirements. Submissions that do not follow all instructions will not be considered.

You will need to submit via email. Please include the name of the role for which you are submitting and your legal name in the subject line. If you are submitting for more than one role you must submit a seperate email. Include your contact info, up to 2 additional current photos, and any links for reels or websites. Email submissions to centralmichelle@gmail.com. You must be registered with Central Casting to submit.

1) COACH: Caucasian looking men with salt and pepper or silver hair appearing to be between ages 45-60 years. Think Pete Carroll and Jimmy Johnson types.

2) REF: Men of all ethnicities appearing in their 50’s that look like a football ref. You should be physically fit and authoritative looking.

3) SECURITY GUARD: Men of all ethnicities appearing to be 25-35 years old with a size 48 coat or larger and between 6’0″- 6’6″.

4) FILM CREW: Men of all ethnicites appearing to be 20- 35 years old and who look like Sound/Lighting/Camera guys.

5) MAKE UP ARTIST: Females of all ethnicities appearing to be 25-35 years old who are attractive with a dress size 0-6.

6) CATERER: Females of all ethnicities appearing to be in their 30’s.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced nominations for the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards this morning at the Beverly Hilton.

Aziz Ansari, Zoe Saldana and Olivia Wilde were on hand to handle the unveiling of names and titles in 25 film and TV categories after being introduced by new HFPA president Theo Kingma.

Winners will be announced during the Golden Globes ceremony January 12, 2014 at the Beverly Hilton, aired live on broadcast partner NBC and hosted for a second consecutive year by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

MTV’s Senior VP of Scripted Programming Jason Levy Steps Down

Justin Levy was responsible for the series “Awkward” and “Teen Wolf”

Justin Levy no longer wants his job with MTV.

Levy, senior vice president of scripted programming, has  departed the network, an individual with knowledge of the exit told TheWrap on Wednesday.

Levy’s departure comes a year after Clay Spencer, who co-headed scripted programming for MTV, left the company. Spencer left a day after Susanne Daniels was appointed MTV president of programming, taking the place of David Janollari. Spencer had come to the network with Janollari after working with him previously.

Deadline was the first to report the announcement.

AMC’s pilot ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ is set in the early 1980s, it dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, Joe (Lee Pace); an engineer, Gordon (Scoot McNairy); and a prodigy, Cameron (Mackenzie Davis), whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. The project was written on spec by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers, who will exec produce with Lisco, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. The pilot was directed by Juan José Campanella.

Casting call for a lead role in the upcoming feature film ‘Lost in the Sun’ starring Josh Duhamel filming in Austin, Texas.

The Cast Station (thecaststation.com) is currently seeking talent for a new movie they are casting titled “Lost in the Sun.”This film stars Josh Duhamel and will shoot in and around the Austin area during the month of February 2014.

The open call will take place this Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smithville Recreation Center on the corner of First Street and Hwy 95.

Trey Nelson will direct from his screenplay about a small-time crook who kidnaps a teenage orphan and develops a powerful bond with the youngster as they embark on a string of robberies.

Production on Lost In The Sun is set to begin in February 2014 in Texas.

Clay Floren and Aimee Shieh of Floren Shieh Productions will produce with Clay Pecorin of Two Ton Films. ICM represents domestic sales.

“At its core, the film is a celebration of the outlaw lifestyle,” said Nelson. “It’s about living on the borders of right and wrong. It’s about avoiding a domesticated and safe life. And like my childhood drives across Texas, it’s about escape.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Trey Nelson and Josh Duhamel on this project,” said Cargo Entertainment CEO Marina Grasic. “This action packed thriller will attract audiences worldwide”.

Production will most likely begin a short time after casting is complete, and the show’s premiere date will follow.

From Dusk Till Dawn director Robert Rodriguez unveiled plans for the show a couple of months ago, while also unveiling plans for an entire new cable network aimed at young-adult audiences called El Rey, which he has co-created, partnering with Univision Communications Inc.

The English-language El Rey – which is set to premiere this December nation-wide with initial carriage via Comcast – would air From Dusk Till Dawn as its first scripted series. Robert Rodriguez, is heavily involved in getting the network off the ground, will be writing, producing and directing the From Dusk Till Dawn series himself. The series will expand on the story and characters from his original film and providing more Aztec mythology. There has not been a report if the two sequels will be included in the television series since, Robert Rodriguez only worked as a producer on those projects.

Showtime’s ‘Californication’ Enters their Final Season in 2014

Showtime’s Californication will end after its upcoming seventh season, the network has announced.

The show’s final run, consisting of 12 episodes, will begin in April 2014.

Showtime has announced that the remainder of the comedy will wrap up the storylines of its characters, including Hank Moody played by David Duchovny.

Showtime’s president of entertainment David Nevins said:

“With its unique blend of lyricism and excess, Californication has been one of our groundbreaking signature series.

“We will always be indebted to Tom Kapinos for leading the creative charge on this memorable comedy, and to David Duchovny for making us root for an unapologetic hedonist like Hank Moody.

“Tom has carefully planned the final chapter of Hank’s journey and has brought it to a beautiful and satisfying conclusion for new and longtime fans alike.”

Rob Lowe is confirmed to be reprising his role as eccentric actor Eddie Nero in at least one episode of the show’s seventh run.

Roger Howarth, Heather Graham and Mary Lynn Rajskub will also guest star in the final season.
