Production for CBS ‘Under the Dome’ is ramping up in Wilmington, North Carolina

CBS Under the Dome is based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome.

UNDER THE DOME stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy and Aisha Hinds.

UNDER THE DOME is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, Jack Bender and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, will serve as executive producers.

Kickstarter Has Been HACKED. Be Aware.

Kickstarter Hacked

Kickstarter is a crowd funding website that many film makers and other individuals take advantage of to raise the funds  they need, in order to produce their projects.

The  Kickstarter Company released a statement that disclosed their company was hacked this week.

The hackers did not take any credit card information, but the hackers were able to retrieve user names, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and even passwords that were encrypted.

Based upon a blog posted on the Kickstarter site:

“Actual passwords were not revealed, however it is possible for a malicious person with enough computing power to guess and crack an encrypted password, particularly a weak or obvious one, as a precaution, we strongly recommend that you create a new password for your Kickstarter account, and other accounts where you use this password.”

“No credit card data of any kind was accessed by hackers. there is no evidence of unauthorized activity of any kind on all but two Kickstarter user accounts.”

CBS television series ‘Under the Dome’ Season 2 is back!

Producers and casting directors for CBS’s hit television series ‘Under the Dome’ are back for the new season filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Casting directors will be holding an open casting call for various roles in the television series. NCasting is the lead extras casting company behind the project and they posted a notice seeking background actors, stand-ins and photo doubles to work on the television series.

Open Casting Call Details

The open casting call will be held Sunday, February 23rd from 5:30pm-10 pm at North 23rd Street Suite 207 Wilmington, North Carolina.
Talents must have full availability for certain roles on the project including actors that are they are specifically looking to be the stand-ins for the lead actors in the series. Compensation is 125/10 and time and half after 10 hours. They are looking for local talents to work on the project since, they will not be compensating actors for travel. To submit for extra work or stand-in, bring a headshot and a full body shot that is 4x6in in size because, casting directors will not be taking any photos. They will also be accepting headshots for various roles by e-mail. So, don’t worry if you are unable to attend the open casting call.

‘Drop Dead Diva’ Officially Canceled Again.

Diva Canceled Again

‘Drop Dead Diva’ has been officially canceled again, for the second time. The show was initially canceled nearly a year ago, but after negotiations, was picked up for a fifth season. This year, ‘Drop Dead Diva’ will finish the sixth season and conclude after the 13th episode of the sixth season.

Lifetime Network recently announced that ‘Drop Dead Diva’ will begin the last season with a two hour premiere, starting March 23.

From the moment that the LifeTime Network originally decided to resurrect ‘Drop Dead Diva’ from the dead, it has seen very strong ratings for their new shows, ‘Devious Maids’ and ‘The Witches of East End’. Whereas, ‘Drop Dead Diva’ did not increase the number of viewers during their fifth season.

LifeTime even added two additional, hour long series to their network. The two new series include: ‘The Lottery’ and ‘Line-up’.

‘Drop Dead Diva’ will be missed.

Ellen Page Gay: ‘Juno’ Actress Comes Out and Supports LGBT Youth

After many years of ‘lying by omission’, the ‘Juno’ actress Ellen Page’ has revealed she is a lesbian.

The Canadian born star, best known for her role in “Juno”, “Inception” and the upcoming feature film “X-Men Days of Future Past” made the announcement on Friday as part of a speech at the “Time to Thrive” conference.

The conference was an LGBT (lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual) geared towards youths. “I’m here today because I’m gay, and maybe I can make a difference to help others have an easier and more hopeful time,” said Page.

The actress felt she had a personal obligation and a responsibilty to speak out on the issues surrounding LGBT youth. But, she commented that her sexuality weighed heavily on her and her career while in Hollywood. “I also do it selfishly, because I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress first shared her inner distress following her Hollywood success of the 2007 “Juno”. Since then, Page says the movie industry’s standards of beauty and success have affected not only herself, but young people everywhere.

“You have ideas planted in your head, thoughts you never had before, that tell you how you have to act, how you have to dress and who you have to be. I have been trying to push back, to be authentic, to follow my heart, but it can be hard.”

Many of Page’s Hollywood co-workers applauded Page’s bravery for coming out. Kate Mara, Anna Kendrick and Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted at the actress to show their support.

Ellen Page will start in “Freehand” with Julianne Moore and Zach Galifianakis. The documentary centers around a gay couple who’ve had their pension benefits frozen after it’s revealed one of them has terminal illness according to its IMDB page.

Producers for the new HBO TV Pilot ‘OPEN’ is currently seeking male and female actors for upcoming scenes in the television series.

These roles involve nudity and simulated sex. Talents will be compensated SAG/Dayplayer contracts plus an additional $200 bump for every day the talent works.

According to the Huffington Post, “Open,” is described as “a multicharacter exploration of the complex, ever evolving landscape of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships.”

Comcast & Time Warner Merge to Become One

Comcast Buys Time Warner

Comcast plans to purchase Time Warner Cable for a mere $45 billion dollars. If the Comcast & Time Warner plan is approved, it could affect new customers, as well as, existing customers.

Experts believe that the merge could create stronger WIFI connections, network speeds, as well as, video experiences. After Comcast purchases Time Warner Cable, current Time Warner customers will probably have their current contracts sold to other providers, since Comcast plans to divest nearly three million customers.

Current Comcast customers can expect to receive new features that only Time Warner Cable offered. Features, such as the playback feature, which allows customers to restart a program that is currently in progress. Another feature is the Look Back feature that allows customers to watch programs that have aired up to three days prior to the air date (without a DVR).

Comcast plans to maintain the same 30,000 WiFi hotspots that Time Warner Cable currently has. Comcast also plans to keep Time Warner’s home security system, as well as, IntelligentHome.

Casting directors and producers for the upcoming feature film “Fathers and Daughters” are currently seeking talent to fill various dayplayer/speaking roles in the movie.

Mosser Casting posted a casting call looking for SAG actors to work on the upcoming feature film starring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul and Diane Kruger.

Variety recently reported the on upcoming feature film. “The movie centers on a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe will portray a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will portray the now-grown daughter in present-day Manhattan as she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood.”
