‘Dazed and Confused’ Sequel? ‘That’s What I’m Talking About’ Casting Call in Austin, Texas

Austin, Texas Casting Call – ‘Dazed and Confused’ director now filming new movie and seeking extras in Austin, Texas.

The director of ‘Dazed and Confused‘ is ramping up production for his new feature film and casting directors are now casting extras to appear in the movie.

The Untitled Richard Linklater Project, is rumored to be the sequel to ‘Dazed and Confused’. According to The Hollywood Reporter, no longer working on the remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet. Instead, the director will be filming he is working on a movie similar to ‘Dazed and Confused’.

…a movie about college freshmen called That’s What I’m Talking About, which is supposed to be semi-autobiographical and in the same tone as Dazed and Confused. [Slackerwood]

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Richard Linklater will write, direct and produce the project with Paramount Pictures and Alphaville.

Casting directors are looking for actors, models and talent to work on the movie while it is filming in Austin, Texas. Producers are looking for baseball players, sorority girls, fraternity guys, hippies, bikers, and a ton of other roles.

Bad Robot’s ‘Valencia’ Starring John Goodman Now Filming and Hiring Crew in New Orleans

Valencia starring John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is filming and hiring crew members in New Orleans, Louisiana.

According to the Louisiana Film Commission, filming for the upcoming feature film ‘Valencia’ will shoot in New Orleans starting October 20th for six weeks.

According to SlashFilms, ‘Valencia’ features John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Smashed, Scott Pilgrim) and will be produced by J.J. Abram’s production company Bad Robot.

The movie centers around an underground cellar where a young woman wakes up in after a severe car accident and she fears she has been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday survivalist tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe she must decide to escape or stay with the man who may be her hero or her killer.

According to reports, the screenplay was originally titled The Cellar, but has been going by the codename “Valencia” since Bad Robot became involved. No word on what the actual title of the movie will be.

‘Mr. Right’ starring Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell ramps up production in New Orleans.

According to the Louisiana Film Commission, filming for the upcoming feature film, ‘Mr. Right’ will start filming from October 13th until late November in New Orleans.

The script, written by “Chronicle” screenwriter Max Landis, centers on a woman who has had bad luck finding love until she meets Mr. Right, who turns out to be a reformed hit man, according to Variety.

‘Mr. Right’ is produced by Amasia Entertainment’s Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo and Circle of Confusion’s Lawrence Mattis and Rick Jacobs.

The Real Story Behind the Most Heartbreaking Scene in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’

The true story behind one of the saddest scenes in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ History has finally been revealed.

In the episode “Papa’s Got a Brand New Excuse”, Will Smith demonstrated his true acting abilities and showed the world when he is given the right role, he can do an amazing job.

To refresh your memory, the episode centers on Will’s deadbeat father Lou, who returns after missing 14 years of Smith’s life to spend time with his son. Uncle Phil, can see through Will Smith’s father’s lies, but Will can’t. He is so happy to be with his dad that he drops his traditional style and acts like a little kid all over again. Then this happens…

Here’s the story behind the amazing scene.

A rumor circulated around the Internet that Will Smith actually had a bad upbringing and his father was never actually around.

That awful moment when you learn that this wasn’t scripted. Will Smith’s character was actually supposed to brush off the whole thing, but Will’s father actually had left him when he was younger and he just fell apart on the set and the hug at the end was from one actor to another, not one character to another. But in actuality, his father had a major influence in his life. According to an Essence interview, Will Smith explained what his father was like. “Dad was tough but not tyrannical,” Smith told Essence. “He kept me in line. He’d get this look that said, ‘One more step, Will, and it’ll get ugly.’ He was an independent businessman-he set up refrigeration in supermarkets-and he always provided for us. He’s a steady and positive figure in my life.” (Source)

But, Will Smith’s acting was so genuine and realistic he only did one take and the entire audience started crying.

I was actually at the taping. The entire show was quiet, even during the funny parts, and I could not figure out why.

Before this scene, Will Smith disappeared.

He showed up, did this scene in one take, then disappeared again. You might notice his hat coming off. Usually, the director would retake the scene, but really, nothing could replace this moment.

People were crying for a long time when it was over, doing their best not to make noise before the director said “cut.”

I was ten years old. Will never, ever, forget. (Source)

Will Smith is now an A-list actor, influencers, and business owner. He has recently wrapped production on the ‘Bad Boys’ sequel, ‘Bad Boys For Life’, which filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

About the Film:

Ronald is a retired book preservationist. A kind but stubborn man, he quickly finds himself in a downward spiral when he discovers that his local library is converting to all-digital. A manager overseeing the transition tries to reassure Ronald by explaining that all of the books will be recycled so as to avoid any negative environmental impact. However, this does not ease the blow for Ronald. Determined to do something… to do anything, Ronald makes the rash decision to break into the library and steal the books before any harm can come to them.

This is a powerful story that shows nostalgia, passion, and a man struggling with change.

RONALD, is an intense yet kind 74 year old man. In his appearance, one can tell that his style hasn’t changed over the past thirty years. He is a retired librarian, doing volunteer preservation work for the library. He loves the friends in his book club to death. They are his foundation, without them his life would be out of whack. When on his own he enjoys listening to music, reading of course, and going on bike rides. He also enjoys going to various art events around the little city. Ronald considers himself to be an arts activist and is quick to fight for what he believes in, whether it be funding for arts education in schools or a theatre getting government support.

JAMES
Male
Age: 30’s

JAMES is an ambitious and unrelenting 35 year old man. He has piercing blue eyes and jet black hair. One can tell that he takes great care to his appearance, yet makes an attempt to hide his vanity. He works as a local county library official. James is middle management, playing a small role in the transition of the local library to digital. He is not very content with his life, he wants so much more. James is loud and outgoing in a fake sort of way. He tries hard for people to feel like they’ve connected in their interactions, but there is hardly any sincerity.

TIMOTHY
Male
Age: 70’s

TIMOTHY, is a strong-willed, modern 76 year old man. His appearance is representative of a 21st century semi-formal man, with a few touches of the style of his youth. He works at the multimedia section of the library, though he’s considering retirement with the library transition. The book club is a huge part of his life, but you’d be hard pressed to get him to admit this. He’s more hard shelled, and doesn’t often let his true feelings out. Both a jokester and a realist, Timothy is the backbone of the group. He adapts to his environment. Timothy is also an arts activist, but he brings a more modern approach due to his realism. If he was in charge of the library it would incorporate digital but still embrace physical books.

WALTER
Male
Age: 70’s

WALTER, is a quiet and sweet 73 year old man. His appearance is of a shabby college professor from the 60’s.He is a librarian working with rare books. He worries about how he’s going to live even more leanly off his savings after the library is transitioned and he’s forced into retirement. The book club is extremely important to him. Like Ronald, it’s a foundational aspect of his life. Introverted and quiet, Walter lives most of his life in solitude. He connects with people when speaking about his shared love of books and his job, but otherwise he mostly keeps to himself. MARGARET, is an endearing and nurturing 75 year old woman. Her appearance is that of a hippie straight out of the sixties, although this is a mature look that along with her has aged gracefully. There is an elegance to her. She works in the library in the children’s section. She loves her fellow book club members, though they are the same age it is like she is a mother to them. Protective and nurturing, Margaret either connects to people in a very intense way or not at all. Margaret is a huge advocate for arts education and is a very passionate activist for change. She isn’t as opposed to digital as Ronald because she believes in greater access to information, but she also doesn’t believe in the dramatic transition. She believes there is something formative about youth having the tactile experience of reading a physical book. *Improv Experience Preferred*

The Science of Happiness – A comedy short about a go lucky kind of guy trying to find the key to finding happiness in life. But, on his journey of discovery, he decided to visit a very odd scientist for the answers. Bad idea.

From award winning comedy creator Brett Walkow (www.brettwalkow.com) comes this new comedy. It’s going to be a blast to make. Looking for strong comedically improvisational actors to have fun with a script and co-star with Brett.

CASTING: (Age 35-65) The character is your own take on a mad wild scientist. He thinks he’s smart, but he’s an idiot of sorts. Very Abbott & Costello, Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis, Duo type of team comedy. Other actor is Brett Walkow who plays the go-lucky sweet guy trying to find answers. It will be shot in an actual old school laboratory!

Actors will be participating on a voluntary basis. They will be given $50 for travel expenses and meals. Photos and footage taken at the event will be shared with them for their portfolio or reel. Obviously, the most valuable benefit will be to list your experience with renowned cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, ASC on your resume.

We will be re-creating a scene from two of Shane’s movies, Crazy/Beautiful and Swing Vote. I will send you the script and a clip of the scene(s) that we will be recreating.

Casting directors for the upcoming feature film, Quest is currently looking for child actors for the lead role of “Mills”.

Quest is based on a true story, a 12 year old graffiti addict from a broken home is challenged by his history teacher and learns to trust.

Producers are looking to cast the lead role in the movie. Casting directors are looking for 11 to 14 year olds to play a juvenile delinquent from an abusive home. Mills uses subversive behavior such as “tagging” to feel accepted and earn the attention and respect he doesn’t receive at home. he is mature and intelligent beyond his years and a fiercely loyal friend. he’s extremly street smart, gritty, and hyper-vigilant yet also very cute. Short for his age, and uses that to his advantage in times of need. Beneath his hard exterior lies the gentle heart of a wounded child.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is Facing 10 Years in Prison for Tax Fraud

Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has been indicted on tax fraud after prosecutors allege he failed to report the $8.9 million in income he earned over his career.

According to the Star-Ledger:

“Michael and Marc Sorrentino filed false tax returns that incorrectly reported millions made from promotions and appearances,” U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said. “The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company money into personal accounts. The law is absolutely clear: telling the truth to the IRS is not optional.”

The Situation has been charged with two counts of filing false returns and one count of conspiracy. Each charge holds a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine, for “fail[ing] to pay federal taxes on income generated by two companies” and “buying high-end cars and clothes for personal use and writing them off as business expenses.”

He is also allegedly in trouble for not filing a return at all in 2011, which could add an additional year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

“The Situation” is facing a total of $850,000 in fines, and 10 years in prison.

So, the moral of the story here is to pay your taxes. Even Wesley Snipes could not get away with not paying taxes.

The Internet is Going Crazy Over this Woman’s Headshot

Men on social media are going crazy over this woman’s mugshot.

Angela Coates, a 22-year old model who was arrested a few weeks ago in Dekalb County, Georgia for disorderly conduct is the latest person to become famous based on their mugshot.

Coates is currently blowing up social media because people find it hard to believe that criminals can be attractive. Apparently, TV shows such as Law and Order and Cops taught us that thieves and murders have wrinkly skin and creepy smiles.

A bunch of men have offered to pay her bail, but she was released from jail the same night. There is no word as to why she was arrested for disorderly conduct and Coates has been quiet about her arrest on her Twitter account. But, that does not mean people have not stopped calling. Even football star, Chad Ochocinco was trying to connect with the overnight celebrity.

According to Coates Twitter she argues that the police took advantage of her and arrested her. “Well it’s not I was wrongfully arrested last month by an officer who abused his authority. Good night.” Coates continued, “Police take advantage of their authority each and every day and people assume that since I am “attractive” that my life is perfect.”

Angela Coates may be the latest overnight celebrity, nothing compares to the world’s favorite male criminal Jeremy Meeks.

CBS ‘Big Brother’ Renewed for Two More Seasons

Big Brother renewed for two more seasons, Season 17 and 18.

Ahead of the Season 16 finale, CBS announced that they will renew the reality series for the next two summers. Julie Chen, who has hosted the series since season 1, will continue to host the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Big Brother continues to be one of the summer’s most dominant programs, and with each season, Allison and Rich produce the most twisted ways to evolve the series creatively,” said Chris Castallo, CBS executive vp alternative programming. “With its one-of-a-kind format, coupled with its passionate, socially engaged fan base, no other show comes close to duplicating it.”

Currently, Big Brother airs three nights a week and had an average of 7.6 million viewers and 2.7 million the key demographic, 18 to 49, making it one of the summer’s most watched original series.

Many argued that season 16 was not as controversial as before.

“Certainly there are things to be learned from what happened and what happened to some of the people who said some of the things they did last season,” executive producer Allison Grodner told THR ahead of the season. “I think that did not go unnoticed this year by the cast going into the house.” [via]

Big Brother is also planning on producing an all-star season in the future. But, they are looking for more all-stars.
