Watch KTVA Reporter Quit Live on Television [VIDEO]
KTVA-TV (Alaska) reporter Charlo Greene was finishing up her informative report about the Alaska Cannabis Club on Sunday night when she dropped a bombshell, Greene quit on live television.
The Alaska Cannabis Club owner, quit her job as a news anchor on live television by eloquently saying the four following words: “F*ck it, I quit.”
The Cannabis Club is an organization that “connects Medical Marijuana patients in need to Alaskan cardholders with green”. KTVA later told Alaska Dispatch News that it had no idea Greene was planning to quit.
As for why Greene stepped down in such a dramatic way?
“Because I wanted to draw attention to this issue. And the issue is medical marijuana. Ballot Measure 2 is a way to make medical marijuana real … most patients didn’t know the state didn’t set up the framework to get patients their medicine.”
“If I offended anyone, I apologize, but I’m not sorry for the choice that I made,” she said.
KTVA later posted a statement on its Facebook page shortly after the broadcast: “We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated.”
I’m pretty sure she is heartbroken.
