A new dark comedy staged reading in New York City is seeking actors for two featured roles in a character-driven story set in a rural mountainside community. This non-union production welcomes performers from all backgrounds who connect with the material and are interested in developing new theatrical work.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in a staged reading of a new theatrical production.
• Perform scripted dialogue and collaborate with fellow cast members.
• Attend rehearsals and scheduled reading sessions.
• Bring strong character interpretation and comedic timing to the performance.
• Work closely with the creative team to help develop the play.

• Strong character development and performance skills preferred

• Age range: Late 30s–Early 40s
• Strong dramatic and comedic acting abilities
• Dry wit and grounded stage presence required
• Ability to portray a tough, guarded rural character
