Casting directors are seeking actors for The House Call, a SAG short film directed and written by Eliza Barry Callahan, with A-list talent attached. The film is set in upstate New York in 1986 and follows a young equine vet called to save a champion dressage horse owned by a mob family. Over one night, she forges an unexpected connection with the mobster’s son, witnesses a deadly dispute, and confronts its aftermath alongside ex-Rajneesh followers during their sitar workshop.

Enzo (27): Thoughtful, nihilistic, emotionally frayed mobster’s son. Italian, unconventional, and philosophical.

Rocco (32): Enzo’s older brother, hot-tempered and eager to earn their father’s approval. Proud, insecure, and pressured to fit a masculine stereotype.

Rishi (60s): Ex-Rajneesh community member, gentle but wise leader of the sitar workshop, warm presence.

Chris (late 20s): Local anthropologist, spiritually searching, assisting with the workshop, eager to find connection.

Intermediate Sitar Workshop Members: Group of 15, all ages and walks of life, seeking to learn sitar and searching for deeper meaning.

Casting Call for Short Film “Audition”
Job Description
Casting directors are seeking participants for Audition, a short film directed by BIFA-nominated filmmaker Geraldine Barón. This project explores modern family-making through a mix of portrait and performance art. Inspired by the director’s personal experience of mapping out a path to having a child on her own, the film will weave together interviews with donors, friends, strangers, and actors to create a powerful and intimate narrative.
Job Responsibilities

Share real-life stories and experiences connected to sperm or egg donation

Participate in interviews or scenes that explore the emotional, social, and personal sides of family creation

Collaborate with the creative team to bring authenticity and vulnerability to the film
Requirements

Individuals who have donated sperm or eggs through a bank or personally

People who have been asked to donate or considered donating, regardless of whether they went through with it

Supporters who have been part of someone else’s family-making journey

Must be comfortable sharing experiences on camera
