Job Description:

ESPN is seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to operate a parabolic microphone during the Houston vs TCU game at Amon G. Carter Stadium. This role is crucial for capturing the sounds of the field during the game, enhancing the live broadcast with real-time audio. The operator will follow the action along the sideline or endline, ensuring that the microphone is positioned to pick up the best sound.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a wired parabolic microphone dish to capture on-field sounds during the live broadcast.
• Follow the play by moving along the sideline or endline, pointing the microphone toward the action.
• Ensure consistent, clear sound quality that enhances the viewer’s experience.
• Collaborate with the broadcast production team to ensure seamless audio capture.
• Remain on your feet and mobile for extended periods, ensuring attention to detail throughout the event.
• Work outdoors, potentially in varying weather conditions, while maintaining focus and performance.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of football or the sport being covered.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and move for the duration of the event.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments, potentially exposed to weather conditions.
• Experience with audio equipment (familiarity with parabolic microphones is a plus but not required).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow the action on the field to ensure optimal sound capture.
